Blackbird's Audi S4: Things are going to get loud

So... new car, new thread.

I was head over heels for the S4 and had to have it. Since the dealer was trying to move it off the lot I got a great deal for a nearly loaded car. I have a couple of pictures although they aren't very good since it's dark out by now. Better pictures will follow. For the record, I truly believe the engine is making more than 333hp!

McLaren: Yeah, it was a bit of a timing issue. I can't be without a car for 3 months I thought using another car would have worked but found out it wouldn't be as feasable as I thought. Otherwise the CLA45 would have been considered heavily against the S4.

I wasn't on the forum over the weekend but the Audi S4 will be a great choice for sure. I have always liked those Audis a lot. The AWD will be nice too so you wont have to worry about traction from a dead stop. It will also make for an amazing autocross or roadtrack car.

Looks nice, love the interior (white-Black).

I was also eyeing the S4, the S5 and a RS4 b7 before going nuts and buying a TTRS.

And it's normal, Audi's normally push out a punch more Ponies than advertised if handled correctly the first miles.
Don't know the S4, but the TTRS advertised with 340PS makes around 360.
So I guess the S4 min. has 345Hp, if not more

Hmm haven't heard of a black edition at least not for the 2013MY I was researching. The only thing I realistically plan to do with it is get the optional wheels that this one didn't come with. I'm hoping I can find some guy on Craigslist that has those wheels and decides to buy some aftermarket ones. Then possibly an AWE exhaust as all the videos i've found with the 3.0 sound sexy as hell. Then finally the most improbable, if I truly get bored with the amazing acceleration it already has I could tune it. Some chips/tunes squeeze another 80hp out of it. But anyway, thank you for the comments!

Yeah the CLA45 i'm sure would have been a nice car but the timing was wrong for it. Like I said if it was available now it would be seriously considered against the S4.

This is a Supercharged V6 right? I've seen an article from Pistonheads.co.uk regarding the amount of potential from the S4 engine.



I know seeing as you've just purchased the car, this is probably the last thing you would do to be honest. But still an interesting video nonetheless.

I was just flicking through the Mustang thread, and just wondering what made you change your mind? When it seemed you were really interested in the CLA45. Was it the test drive or just how the car made you feel when you saw it.

Not something I plan to do in the near future but this exhaust would be really great. It's not likely legal here in lovely California.

Well the car impressed me for what it was. 333hp on paper didn't sound like much but when I test drove it it was very quick and the interior was amazing. I've always like Audi's deep down, especially RS versions. Like i've said before too it was a timing thing. If the CLA45 was offered now I would have considered it but with the S4 being available NOW and how good it was I felt I was more than happy with that. The car looks gorgeous too, looks downright mean with those LEDs at night.

Doesn't help i'm a car nut, I can't stick to one car it seems. But right now I'm in love with the S4.

I love the LED lights in the Audi's. You can see them coming from a long way and you are right, the look so mean. Also yes the Mazda 6 cars are excellent cars. You should get some pics of both your cars together.

The Black Edition, may be US specific, but could consist in no chrome around the windows and black front grill

Hate me but, I'm not a fan of BMWs styling and as of yet they still haven't built a car that makes me go head over heels from their styling. May seem like a tacky reason to not consider it but if I have a car I better like the way it looks.

Not necessarily an "S" button but I do have the drive select: Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Individual

But in Dynamic the exhaust note becomes more pronounce.

Oh, I can do that with Individual no? Just set everything to Auto and the exhaust to Dynamic? I'm really liking that AWE exhaust though.

This thread will be rather stale until I start doing stuff to the Audi, or take it on an epic drive.

But, yesterday I went with my father to see how the progress was coming on his Superformance MKIII. (or just Shelby Cobra) It's coming along nicely they settled the engine/transmission in but unfortunately the manifold was a bad cast. Water was leaking through a bolt hole. Minor set back but here are some pictures of this beast:

Thank you, not sure to be honest. Not in the near future I can assure you. The tune I want to do is quite pricey so I need to set aside some money first. This definetly won't be as involved as the Mustang. The plans at least now is just to get the optional 19" S4 wheels off eBay or Craigslist, the AWE exhaust, and the Stasis tune.

It's my friend's Turbo, thing is a beast. It also has a tune which bumped the power by about 80hp.
