Cool, that audi seems pretty mod friendly and with a few tweaks it should be perfect. Keep us posted 👍 Also, very jelly about the turbo, hopefully my dad gets one of those a couple of years from know so that I can experience driving one.

Took some better photos this morning:

Wait, when did you pick up a Turbo?

I was wondering why the 3.0L TFSI was on Ward's 10 Best. Now I know.

That would be a great look for it! Does that care have a 1" or 2" lowering kit? So when are you picking up your new wheels? :sly:

Is that the standard front end for the S4? It looks a lot like the RS4 and not much like the S4's I see over here.

The car I linked the guy put some H&R OE sport springs. I think it lowered it 1.5 - 2"

Reason it will take awhile is most of the mods are pretty expensive. Except for the tint and grill which I'm going to try to tackle myself (the grill installation). Here's a quick breakdown of each mod:

H&R OE Sport Springs = $847
19"x9.5 VMR V713 = ~$1000 + tires
AWE Tuning Downpipe-back Exhaust System = $1,655 or $2,000+ if I decide to get their resonators
I haven't called/found out the price on some of the tunes but probably around the same price of the exhaust.

I won't start modding for awhile, maybe here and there. Start with the grill, probably the cheapest mod, then tint the windows. Then move on to exhaust, wheels, tires, suspension. The last will probably be the tune, haven't decided which is best.

Difference in the front is the grill is the RS4 "style" the fog lights have a black surround and the guy here actually sent his headlights to a place in Brooklyn to have the amber markers and some other pieces, the markers being the most noticeable, blacked out. I didn't notice it at first but it adds to it. 👍 Not sure if I'll go through the same trouble with the lights, but if at the end it really needs it to complete the look I guess i'll copy the guy. :P At least his is in Ohio. It's such a nice look though, been on Audizine peering around and thus far this is my favorite one I've seen. Although older B8s in Imola Yellow are sexy too!

Slightly different angle:

The mods he's done have made it almost look like what an RS4 saloon would look like, just needs the flared arches.

^Totally ;)

If you take a non stock rim I would go for one that saves a bit of weight.
Like the OZ:

RS6 wheels like mine in a titanium finish would look great. Or the Rotor Rims, though I've seen them enough on Audi's of the whole range, to a point they get boring.

For the price of the springs, save a bit up and go full coil overs either Bilstein or KW, best mass produced you can get.

AWE does some pretty amazing exausts. Sadly not legal over here, because their TTRS is marvellous. I yt the S4 ones after ;)

The black around the fog lights is OEM piece. The grill is expensive just to alert you so you don't fall over. It's above 400 dollars for sure...
A solution is to paint yours gloss black, should cost 100. If I change mine I'm going down that route or warp it.

And search a bit for the coding, you can tune some cool stuff, like the coming home, leds and rear on (scandinavian mode), brightness of the LEDS (they run around70-80% Stock, but too much will blend!), Bose to Convertible....

An other cool mod is to tint your badges a bit darker (titanium, gunmetallic,...)

Also, Audi Carbon Oem interior trim!!

If I get lucky I get the TTRS carbon engine bay covers OEM for 600. At the dealer : 2100€ :ouch:

A bit of Carbonfiber will look great on your car ;)

The grill on there, and the one I'm planning on getting, is not an oem item. Its by ECS Tuning. $250

The VAG-Com mod I think is what you're referring to. I'm thinking about doing that not sure yet. I like the idea of allowing the LEDs stay on when you have a turn signal. I'll have to see if the turn signals are really not noticeable while the DRLs are still on.

Badges will most likely get an ice silver treatment or similar.

Not sure if its the same but my S4 has the Carbon Atlas inlays! :dopey:

And some think the exhaust on my Acura was expensive. Yeesh....

Then again, that is one of the cons when it comes to the Germans. Ridiculously expensive mods. AWE is a solid name in the Audi & Volkswagen community, so I'm not surprised at the cost of that exhaust system seeing as it is a full exhaust. I know on BMWs, most exhausts tend to be axle-backs that trump $1,000+ for mostly noise & 5-10Hp.

Gotta pay to play, though. :sly:

Indeed, but if I can make it look similar to that car up there it will be worth it. It might looks really similar because those wheels look really good on the car and they're not crazy expensive like HREs or something like that. The headlight/badge treatment is going to be the odd one for me. Not sure if I really need to do the badges. Apparently a place in Brooklyn OneEighty customs did the work on those headlights and badges.

Tell me about it, finding a sub-2K axleback for the M3 is almost impossible, at least nothing needs to be done for the headers and one can just go with test pipes intead of getting a full exhaust or changing the X-pipe.

Blackbird that audi you posted above looks really nice and from my experience the subtle touches do wonders on euro cars, try to look for cheap or free mods that change your car over to euro spec which might be more to your liking. Also, I dig those VMRs 👍

Yeah well the grill is a start. It's an aftermarket piece but looks pretty OEM. Funny thing is the OEM RS4 grill will not fit the S4, not without absolutely butchering it. The VMRs are sexy, I haven't seen another set of wheels that fit the car better IMO. I was pretty set on just getting a pair of the 19" wheels from the factory but it's a more expensive route. So, what should I do first?

Buy grille, oem black surrounds, and tint?

Buy wheels and H&R OE Sport springs?

Buy AWE exhaust?

I'd go in the order you posted, starting with the smaller/cheaper stuff which will then make the overall package better when the others are added.

Well I bought the grille yesterday, will be a project I can work on when I get back from vacation.

I've decided to get the exhaust first because it's just too darn quiet, then the wheels and springs will be next. I'm torn between wheels. I can either get the wheels I posted above or replica peelers in matte anthracite:

Definitely the second set.

Wow, what a beauty....

Even though I would have chosen the AMG :P

I gotta say I love the sound of the 3.0 V6. Not sure what I would think of the AMGs 4 cylinder. I really cannot wait for the AWE exhaust.

For once, going against my passion, I agree.. I don't understand why AMG are starting to bring 4 cyl engines into production... I personally test drove an A45 AMG, I hated the sound.. It just sounds so... tinny... :/

I miss the 6.2 AMG V8 N/A that debuted in the C63, E63, S63...

Just so as you know apart from AMG's..

The B8 Audi S4 is one of my other favourite cars... it has a core within it that says "you won't like me when I'm angry.." going about it.

Looks like a bog standard A4 from afar but as soon you hear it and catch a glimpse of a S- badges, you know this is no joke.. haha

I was amazed when it debuted with a 3.0 V6.. that just says to people, "aah pish posh, just a gas guzzler.." but no... a sleeper within a beast...

By the way, I agree with the second set, looks beautiful.

Sorry for the essay :P

Definitely the second set.

Agree on the second set

I agree that the second set looks better 👍

Well I think that's a unanimous decision.

I have a large amount of respect for the AMGs, they are sexy and mean cars. A big reason why I went S4 was because the CLA45 was too far off from when I sold my Mustang. I too always had a soft spot for the S4, they're a niche car they're not quite a C63 or M3 but they're not a 335i or a C350. Of course now manufactures are following in their footsteps like the 435i M-sport. It's a really fun car to drive, I can drive it calm and collected as much as I want get upwards of 28mpg average. Or I can beat the hell out of it and get as much fun as I did with the Mustang, minus the copious amounts of wheelspin. :sly: It's funny too, I get a whole new breed of people that want to race me. Before with the Mustang it was the obligatory Ford, Chevy, etc muscle cars. The only car that did give the mustang a run for it's money was an Eagle Talon that had god knows what under the hood. Definitely a big turbo because I could hear that loud and clear. But with the S4 it's 335i, the countless G35 sedan and coupes that roam around here. But they don't stand a chance but at the same time I wouldn't be able to keep up with a C63 or an M3 on a roll, maybe a start with launch control untill second or third. :P Ok, now i'm ranting...
