I may or may not install it. I'll just keep it in the box until I decide. I figured at 25% off it's a good deal and it's something that's sought after so I could always sell it for what I bought it for or slightly more easily. But if I intend to use it will help if and when I decide to tune it. Deals with heat soak a lot better than the stock cooler.

Unfortunately the funds I was going to use for this had to be used for an emergency so this will no longer be possible. Sucks to have to let $500 off on a $2000 kit slip by but life/work is more important than mods!:indiff:

Very nice. Would the upgraded intercooler increase power, or just decreases heat soak effects?

No power increases but drastically reduces heat soak. The stock system is so poor that even spirited driving on the streets will yield heat soak resulting in timing being pulled and a less than desirable IAT. This problem is exacerbated when you start tuning it. I love the S4 but it has its faults from the factory.

In short, with this system whatever power you make will be what your putting down even after spirited driving. I'm not sure in a track environment how good this system is at rejecting heat soak bit I'd imagine pretty damn good at it. But it doesn't apply to me. I dont plan to track it but it doesn't mean I won't.

Now that I think about it though the question has never been brought up about it making more power. I'm not sure ALPHA has dynoed it before and after. However I believe if there was a power increase they'd advertise it. It could only help them sell more.

Got to spend a morning/afternoon detailing her. If you believe it its the first time in 7 months I've been able to detail it. Took 6 hours but the result was worth it. Crappy cell phone pics though. Maybe in between mods I should save up for a SLR.

Bad part of washing your car: Discovering all the nicks and stone chips you've accumulated over the months. 👎

Is that an intercooler? Or a radiator?
Oilcatchtank?

Looks nice all clean 👍

I just updated that post, unfortunately I will have to pass up on that deal. I wasn't really prepared to pay for it but it was possible. However I had to use the funds for something more important before the buy could go through so I have to give my spot to someone else. 👎

That happens. Car and mods is not the most important. Either way you didn't plan on using it in the immediate...

You're right there was a possibility I might but not in the immediate future. If anything it was an investment I could have sold it for a $100-$200 more then what I bought it for without an issue. So it's not a big loss, but it would have been nice. :D There's a silver lining though. It means when I replenish the funds since the "deal" is no longer existing I'll stay the course and head for the AWE catback. Speaking of which I found a nice video of it, I still haven't heard one in person though!

AWE has some nice exaust from what youtube tought me  👍

YouTube does a terrible job of "showing" how things sound. This video, as i'm told, is one of the best representations of what it really sounds like. They say "yes it really is as loud as it seems". I mean it's not straight-piped-no-cats loud but much louder than stock. Which isn't saying much since Audi traditionally mutes their cars.

Installed Retrofit Labs LED turn signals. The stock ones annoyed me. They didn't fit the rest of the car.

And I also got a killer deal on a new AWE Track Edition Cat back with 102mm tips in their Black Diamond finish. Should ship in 2 weeks 👍

Was following an S4 with the exact same exhaust the other day. Definitely turns heads.

My exhaust arrived today, kind of. FedEx attempted to deliver it at 10:30am and I was at my computer sending an email at 10:25. So either I'm deaf or they didn't ring the door bell. :indiff:

It required a signature so I have to wait for tomorrow.

Finished it in about 2hr 30m. Taking off the stock exhaust didn't take long. Putting on the new exhaust components took a little longer. But it felt like the majority of the time was spent adjusting the pipes to align the tips properly in the outlets. Very happy with the results. It sounds so mean now!

Crappy pictures are crappy I know, I really need a GoPro or SLR.

Anyways quick snip I took tonight. Maybe a better one if I get a GoPro. 👍

Yes. Sounds good from the vid (extrapolated into reality  )

Nice work 👍

Thanks. :) Yeah videos do no justice but I was asked to make one. I'll make a better one later on. The adjustments took the longest

I was tinkering with the idea of getting a used second car so i don't put so many miles on the S4. I was thinking Mini. Whats your thoughts? Under $25k.

I don't see the point in keeping miles off the S4. It's depreciated and will continue to do so whether you drive it or not.

I could see the point of getting a ~$6-7K Miata to supplement it though. That way you'd have something different enough to the S4 but also something that's already hit it's bottom price. (more or less anyways)

Or a Z4/S2000 if you like those better.
