Just trying to dial the setup in now, these things have tonnes of grip on racing softs!

Enzo, can you confirm what exhaust we need? And what should our Bhp and weight be after all modifications?

So why does my car with the exact mods listed have 205hp?

@enzoDBR9 Sorry for the confusing post. I was tired and didn't see the qualifying track and read the cutoff dates wrong lol

I'd like to sign up for it too. Have two 2002s so be nice to make a race car of one and keep the other original.
Shame there is no E30 M3s as a 190Evo and E30 M3 DTM championship would be sweet!

My car with all the mods has 212bhp (but it does have 80k kms :))

Yea we need to get these mods under control. I can see what some ppl did to get a little more horse power. with the stage to exhaust my car has 198hp. If I buy the sports exhaust manifold it'll bring it up to 205, and I'm not sure how this guy got to 212. There's so many options I think some of us are starting to get confused.

Here's what I have done:

Stage 2 Weight Reduction - I suggest also Chassis Reinforcement(is that ok?)
Stage 2 Engine tuning - NO ECU TUNING
NO INTAKE
Semi Racing Exhaust (stage 2)- NO CAT, NO MANIFOLD
Stock Transmission
Twin Plate Clutch
Custom Suspension
Racing Soft Tires

I'm cool with adding the sports manifold or cat, but I'm not gonna do it till you say man. Once it's on you can't remove it.

yes it should be 147kW / 197 british hp or 199 metric hp^^

207 bhp would be 154kW ... engine tuning stage 3 or sport catalyzer brings it to 154kw. i think its not allowed ;)

... or have i still forgot something

With those parts listed by RSection8 and an oil change the power comes to 207BHP. After the engine has run in I can see the car getting to 212BHP easily.

This is EXACTLY what I did to my car, and I have 209hp at the moment. The only other thing I did was an engine rebuild, since I think that was a given. Its rather realistic for power levels to flutcuate a bit, even with the same mods on the same car. Mileage may have something to do with it as well, not sure what my car is at though. Also, as we all know, after a bit of driving after a rebuild, power goes up as the engine wears in, in the gaming sense.

In the end, an extra 5-10hp in this power bracket isn't going to make a huge difference.

One other thing, I'm having some trouble with tuning in my suspension, or its just my driving. I so far have only managed a best of 1:48.062 on Monaco. I know there are a couple spots where I could improve, but there are also spots that I am right between 2nd and 3rd making a corner. Shift down to 2nd and have to shift almost imediately after the corner, or stay in 3rd and risk loosing too much speed. What is the pace on this track generally?

I've not had much practice yet, but I've been getting low-mid 1:48's as well. Not really sure if I could push the time any further down.

I think I might be able to pick up another 1 sec at most with some cleanup of a couple corners, but no more than that.

EDIT: mic1 mentioned getting a sub 1:45 time. I guess my driving style just sucks for this track.

I bet it gains HP as the engine gets broke in, that's awsome. Anyone want to do some practice tommorow? I'll open a room and use our series tracks? Or should we use the lounge option?

I ran a few laps trying to get a set up that would tighten the car coming out of the corners and I haven't cracked 1:50 yet, I know I still need to learn this track, but I don't see 5 seconds unless I can really get this car dialed in! That being said this car is a blast to drive and I can't wait to race it, I love the sound, I'm glad we used stock gearbox so we don't hear that whine the custom makes .

the suspension setup is not easy. i dont have really a plan. i would say set only less camber (?) and not to hard suspension what is important for the high curbs in the chicane.

Actually the chicane doesn't bother me too much. I'm mostly having trouble with understeer. Power on oversteer isn't too bad and is controlable, but understeer is hard to get around. Going to do some more tuning to try to get my time down and hopefully get a good qualifying time in.

i think the standard toe of 0.20 (rear tires) is for prevent oversteer. dont know my settings but try to set it to 0 or 0.05 first.

I am leaving the country tomorrow so i wont be on the page very much if at all, ill be in england visiting some step grand ps, anyone know of a good library in the meopham area?

thanks

I tried this and while it did induce some oversteer, solved a bit of the understeer problems. Finally managed a 1:46 and holding consistant 1:47's now. Can't complain too much with that I think.

Wow you guys are blazing fast.I did a few more practice laps and barely broke 148! Your right about the toe, lower the rear helped? I'm running full 20 downforce anyone think thats holding me back?

I did my runs with no wing. But that full downforce could be slowing you down in the straight sections. The car is already somewhat limited on power when it comes to top end, and by adding more drag your just making things worse I think. But thats my opinion and I can't really back it up on this car. I know on my RX-7 that I put a rear wing on, it didn't help much, if at all, at nearly stock power levels. That was about 200hp.

I have a room open online at Cote d'azure, its called classic race cars.

Mike let me know when you're going to do another practice session. I'm always looking to test with some fellow racers... Also the cars seem to handle a little differently online(less grip) compared to offline. So I like doing all my testing online.

Add me man. Rsection8 (psnid -is case sensitive so make sure you get the lower case s)

Updating my original post. My car color is Metallic Blue.
