For anyone interested, I will be hosting a room for practice tonight, maybe the next couple nights as well. It will be called Spec BMW 2002 practice. I will do this as soon as the update finishes, over 1 hour so far lol.

I got my Fanatec wheel last night, man do I suck lol. The best I could manage last night was a 1:52, not horrible I guess. Hopefully I will be better by the time the series starts up. I need to get used to shifting, I keep missing shifts and its really slowing me down. It is so much more fun racing with a wheel, clutch and shifter.

Updating my original post. My car color is Metallic Blue.

Mind if i use this as the photo on the first post?

Unfortunately PD has wrecked the ability to use the shifter and clutch effectively by putting too many restraints between throttle input and ability to shift into another gear. More than 10% throttle input and it prevents you from shifting either up or down, pretty much ruining heel and toe technique IMO. Every time I use the manual shifter, its missed shifts everywhere. Also, don't even bother trying to shift if your tires are spinning.

Go ahead Enzo. Apparently the throttle and shifting debacle was supposedly fixed with this latest patch. I don't seam to be having extraordinary trouble shifting, the only time I miss is when I release the clutch before I have selected a gear.

I have always loved that car, I'm in.

Ha, I was doing my qualifying runs at monza by accident. I couldn't believe how far I was off on my times.
Ill add you to the list, i have found a computer to use while i am out of town, but it is very, very, very challenging to use and it is slow!
so, if your not on the list by tomarowish just pm me.

Practice room is open online. room # is 1472-6118-3787-3250-3627

It was me in there, I love the car and the tuning for these races but am only going to be online for the next 2 weeks or so, do you guys mind if I jump in any room you have open even if I won't be seeing it through? I'll try to be clean.

I'm sure its fine. I certainly have no problem with it. You were pretty quick too.

Thanks guys, hopefully we can get a few people in a lounge for a bit of practise. Handling online is a bit different to GT mode so quite important to try out your tunes online.

I managed a clean 1:44.xxx earlier on Monaco (I think it was that time anyway. Not at my PS3 right now) but the same suspension setup online I could only manage a 1:46.xxx.
Also, now that my car is run in HP is 213 after fresh oil. Its only 1 HP more that stated before but I thought I'd mention it.

Want to do abit of practice later on again toe-rider as I'm finished work bow and probably will be online in an hour or two as it's too bloody cold here to do anything else :embarrassed:

I'll host a session if there isn't anybody already on and post up the room number here.

Don't have my G25 setup yet ai it'll only be the controller but I'll be able to work on my settings some bit anyway and get a feel for the car.

Does anybody know if an engine is able to be ran in on-line now or is it still just an A-spec thing?

Post the room number up when you have it and I should be able to join you at some point, might be a bit later on though, 10pm GMT

10 or half 10 is fine by me as I must have my dinner and things and might do a little bit of drift practice too first.

What tires is everyone using to set their qualy times? I have hit a wall at 1:47.9xx on race mediums? Are most people using softs? Also, has anyone been successful in tuning out the over steer on the fast corners? Thats where I feel I am losing the most time.

Some positive rear toe or downforce will dial out the over-steer but the racing softs will make it better in anycase.

Cool... After a fresh rebuild on the engine and chassis, I'm right at 209hp... What a huge difference a rebuild makes.
My Car is light blue BTW. Finally did some testing today, and holy cow, this car can be a handful... You have to be very smooth.. I think I manage a 147.3 There's a couple laps I had it beat and lost it at the end.... Anyways, looking forward to racing with you all.

I just got the 2002 today. I def. want in on this if spots are still open. I'll post my info later tonight when I get home.

Hello EnzoDBR9,

Have the rules/regs and upgrades been finalized yet?

I re-read through this thread and see some people calling for sport softs while others are running race softs. Some are talking about engine rebuilds, and others not. The list in the first post says stage 2 exhaust, but then says sports exhaust (which is stage 1 really).

I'm still looking for a 2002 as well. If anyone has one to send, I welcome it. I've got a few friends keeping an eye out for it for me too. PSN verlumpt.

I also wondered what track is for qualifying. I see mention of Monaco, but from your initial post it isn't clear.

I'd really like to get a feel for the what the final ruleset / upgrade list is going to be so I can get setup accordingly.

Thanks - Jon

You bring up a good point jon, i will make a finalized list as soon as i can. I am out of town (and am itching to take part in a practice session) which makes it hard.
