The article is clear. M4 Pace Car will be available. The Genuine BMW M Performance Parts on the M4 Pace Car, will be available to apply to the current M4 Coupe.

The only thing we are unclear of, is the transmission type for the Pace Car. The pics at SEMA are from a manual. Some people are speculating it will just be the M4 Coupe we have now, coded with livery, lights, BMW M Performance Parts and the 7-speed DCT.

I really wish PD would make the effort and model the car like it was in the SEMA, manual transmission included. But after looking the game images, I fear its just the current M4 with the bits and pieces to make it a safety car.:(:nervous: Just gotta keep on praying its the manual version.

Jordan mentioned PD modelers were there taking photos of the lights to complete the render. Maybe they took notice of the transmission.

Are you being sarcastic?

I'm genuinely not, 'My very least hope is to NOT releasing the moddable M4 as a new car called "M4 modify edition"', is, to me at least, quite clearly sarcasm.

So he wants the new M4 to be called the "M4 Modify Edition"? It looks like he doesn't want them to make it a new edition called "M4 Modify Edition", where is the sarcasm, I don't want that either and nothing suggest they would.

In the very least I hope they don't release a "Special Lights Edition" Safety Car, and the option available to add them to the M Performance safety Car if we get the lights...... Seriously.

Anyways back to topic.

Exactly, the sarcasm lies in the fact that nothing suggests that they would, and the fact that you'd have to be incredibly cynical to think that they would, add an entirely separate car called the "M4 Modify Edition". He obviously doesn't actually believe that they would do that, and as such it's a sarcastic joke.

Anyway, I'll say nothing more on the topic.

(Wouldn't usually pursue it but I happen to be mid-way through an essay/in the mood for writing)

The problem with sarcasm is its all in the tone and tone is hard to relay in a text without making it clear. His post has to be taken at face value, and that's how it was taken, if it was a joke fine, say it was a joke this is no big deal, but don't act like it was obvious. I added the last line "In the very least I hope they don't release a "Special Lights Edition" Safety Car, and the option available to add them to the M Performance safety Car if we get the lights." there is nothing suggesting they would and Im not being sarcastic or cynical.

Lights are going to be in the aero parts section? What's your source on this?
Read the OP, Polyphony mentions a rooftop light bar and grill flashers. Again, this as only to my knowledge. PD could be lying or I'm not Confucius. Or both, haha.

I see in the OP that rooftop flashers as well as grille flashers are to be included. They're just not shown in the images and I see nothing mentioning putting it as an option in aero parts. It really wouldn't make sense to put it as an option there. If anything, it'll probably be two different versions like the Skyline Pace Car has.

That seems unnessesary. Why have 2 cars when the option to installed the lights in "other" makes more sense. 1 car, add the lights if you want and don't if you don't, simple. 2 cars would make sense BEFORE the "other" option was around, but GT6 makes 2 cars redundant.

I agree, but PD is infamous for having other color options for some cars as entirely different cars. Off the top of my head comes the Toyota FT-1 Graphite, but I know there are plenty more examples. The Skyline Pace Car actually wouldn't fit in the "different car as a color option" category though because the one without lights has more HP stock, among other differences.

The car in the photos is not the complete version. The car we are getting will have the red/white lightbar and the blue grille leds. I doubt there will be two different cars.

If you read the original article from the PitStop blog (not the thread), it is mentioned at the end, that the car is subject to change before release.

This is what I believe we will get: one (1) BMW M4 M Performance Safety Car, complete with lightbar and grille leds + tuning parts and cosmetic upgrades for the normal M4 already in-game.

PD has 16 days to prove me wrong.

I would be surprised if the car as shown is not in the game.

I wouldn't. It is missing the warning lights. And why would they give as a Safety Car without lights, we already have the normal M4. Unless, it has a manual transmission, then I wouldn't mind having another normal M4 aswell.

I know there are the two Nissans with similar liveries: normal version and the Safety Car.
The Nissan was at first a Nismo tuned Skyline to showcase the spirit of Gran Turismo and then they decided to turn it into a Safety Car.

My logic is seeing multiple images of the car without lights, but only writing that they will have them, seems more logical what we will get the car without the lights and if the writing is correct an option to either add the lights to the car or buy a second car with lights

The reason I don't think we we get the "second car" option here is that we have the "Other" option to add the lights where when the Skyline Safety Car 2 versions were released there was no "other" option to install lights.

The only thing I see as highly improbably is not getting the car as seen in the pictures put out. I think if the lights are in the game, then we will either get the option to install them, or a second car, Im confident we will have a version with no lights.

The pictures are "work in progress" photos, Jordan himself mentioned that PD was at SEMA to scan and photo the lights for modelling. I see no point in giving us a safety car that you have to buy the lights separately. If that was the case, then the Safety Car decals should be optional aswell. Or the ///M livery. Or why not make the lights, decals and livery available for the excisting M4.

BMW (and PD) announced us that they give us a safety car with lights, and that is what I believe they do.

We shall see.

I still don't see why we shouldn't get what we already see is in the game. Them capturing the lights doesn't tell me we wont have the car as seen in the released pictures. Seeing the pictures of the car in the game with no lights its most logical to expect what we've been shown.

It makes far less sense to have 2 cars. I don't see the point in buying 2 cars.

No livery in the game is "optional" why they would start now when they say the Safety Car will be in the game, not a Safety Car livery will be able to be applied to the existing M4 makes very little sense to me. I don't see them implementing a livery system because a car with a livery is coming, its not the first car with a livery.

Yeah, and they showed us the car in the game without lights. I expect what I've seen.

We shall see.

We shall

It would be silly to put in a safety car without lights.

They changed the text on the website

"The BMW M4 M Performance Safety Car was produced by BMW of North America as an exciting showcase for the latest accessories in the popular M Performance Parts catalog, which are often used by BMW owners to fully personalize The Ultimate Driving Machine®. The Safety Car began as a series-production, 2015 BMW M4 Coupe, and features a custom body wrap by 3M in BMW Motorsport theme colors. Next, BMW added a full complement of BMW M Performance parts available for the M4: carbon fiber splitter system, side splitters, carbon fiber mirror caps, carbon fiber rear spoiler, carbon fiber rear diffuser, black BMW kidney grilles, black side gills, and titanium exhaust system with carbon fiber exhaust tips."

They removed

"M4 Safety Car theme is finished by a set of LED grille-mounted flashers and and LED rooftop light bar."

Weird, silly thing has no light bar

I don't know about anybody else, but all I've seen is the car with no light bar.

I'm gonna assume that happened because what that said wasn't quite matching the pictures they posted.

It was mentioned previously (by Jordan I think?) that they were viewing the car with the lights for the first time at Sema and we're taking photos etc there for modelling purposes, and since that post I've been assuming that the initial release won't include lights but they will be added later when the modelling is done.

If we don't have lights at initial release you will have to toot the horn instead lol

I hope they can model the lights, flash patterns and everything else they need before the end of month. They still have a bit over a week to complete the work.
