Just curious, but what track(s) are you guys gonna take the car for a spin the first time online?

I'm itching to drive it on Nürburgring Nordschleife, Spa Francorchamps and SSRX, at night of course.

Maybe Daytona and few other tracks after that. Just to see how awesome it will look in the complete or partial darkness.

I hope that there are two different cars one with the flashing safety lights ant one without.

You mean like the Nismo Pace Car and its non-pace variant with same livery, or Safety M4 and a normal M4?

If you mean the latter, we already have the normal M4 ingame, we just get customization parts for it. I doubt they give us the livery as a paintjob for the normal M4.

Allthought, I wouldn't mind getting another M4 if it came with the manual transmission.

I'm hoping a manual as well. If we DO get a livery chip, this could be the rebirth to the way it was since GT1. The only cars that give us livery choices at purchase, are the Honda Integra Touring Car and S2000 LM & RX7 LM models.

Don't forget the Camaro LM edition, it comes in green, red and blue if I'm not mistaken. And it can also be painted. Or it was in GT5, not sure if it still is.

Correct. I never tried to paint it.

Had one in GT5, painted it black to hide part of the decals. Maybe I should buy it again just to see if I can paint it or not.

Edit: just 15 days till we get the M4!:gtpflag:(Not counting the weekends, 21 if counted)

Not counting the weekends so that an update seems sooner has to be up there as one of the ultimate symbols of gtplanet's desperation for updates

I'm just excited to get a premium safety car at last.:lol::lol::lol::gtpflag:
Even thou I'm 31 now, I still get giddy while thinking about driving the safety car around with its lights flashing. :embarrassed::lol::dopey::drool:

Didn't I read somewhere that someone (possibly Jordan) said that they were at SEMA taking pictures of the lights on the car for a future update? So, although I think the lights will come to the game, I don't think they will come in November.
Still it's good that they are adding this safety car. I don't do online racing so it doesn't affect me, and I know some are upset about it being another "duplicate", but it seems to be something filling a specific gap that a significant number of people on the site wanted, so I'm happy for those that are happy about it.

I did read that aswell, and I've been thinking about the lights too.
They have 15 days to model, animate, code, attach them to the car and test to make sure they work properly.

That is assuming they don't work for weekends (saturday, sunday).

They also need to do the trackside reflections for the different colours that the lights have, blue/red/white for the front, red on the sides and back.

I want to believe that PD delivers this time on time.

Also, I hope the default setting for the lights will be off, so we don't have to turn them off everytime we are on/leave the pits.

:
I wonder if the modifications will cover the Frozen Black Metallic version.

I modified the C7 prototype. The only things that can't be done are: wheels, color, wings, front aero and gauges. We'll see as far as new special models go.

What things were you able to do to the C7 Prototype?

Wait, I thought that car was discontinued in favour of the production model!
The Camo car released in GT5 is still there, the Final Prototype (With non body coloured Roof and rear wing) is however gone in favour of the production car C7.

What things were you able to do to the C7 Prototype?

Engine upgrades 1, 2, 3; exhaust
Full adjustable suspension
Racing tyres
Full adjustable transmission
Weight reduction
Drivetrain
Racing brakes (I havent tried to see if they can be colored)

It seems I have a different take on how this is going to play out than some others here.

All I'm anticipating is one car.
That will be the Safety car, and I'm expecting it to come will all the bells and whistles attached.
I see no point of having a one-off accessory available for only one car to be accessed via Custom Parts.
They stated "These screenshots are from development and details may be subject to change" so I'm expecting the lights to be already fitted come the update.

And the existing road M4 will get access to all the Performance Edition tuning parts, plus additional customisation including another aero package separate to the Safety cars version.
Not an additional car, simply customisation parts.
I also doubt there will be a 'safety car' paint chip.

Basically, what they said. Not sure where people get this idea that there
My very least hope is to NOT releasing the moddable M4 as a new car called "M4 modify edition".

Not sure why you even think this when this was said:

The car will become available in the next update for the game, which will also introduce new tuning parts and options for the base model of M4 Coupé. Additional customization options will include painted kidney grills, larger wheel sizes, hood pins, and additional aero parts.

Which means as stated above:

the existing road M4 will get access to all the Performance Edition tuning parts, plus additional customisation including another aero package separate to the Safety cars version.
Not an additional car, simply customisation parts.

I also doubt there will be a 'safety car' paint chip.

Possible but not very likely since these are in game screen shots. I believe its what we can expect to see in the game and if the lights do make it in it will be an upgrade option. Its possible 2 versions one with and one without lights could get released, but the option to install lights on the car removes the need for 2 cars so most likely its one car with the lights as an option IF the lights do make it in.

And the existing road M4 will get access to all the Performance Edition tuning parts, plus additional customization including another aero package separate to the Safety cars version.

The visual upgrades for the M4 are applying the Safety Car parts to the regular M4, its the exact aero package from the Safety Car. They have not shown an Aero package separate to the Safety Car version but it is possible there will be 2 aero packages.

I also doubt there will be a 'safety car' paint chip.

Me too, there are no "livery" paint chips, they make no mention of anything of the sort, a Livery Paint Chip is not likely.
