I ran a few laps of Daytona RC in the yellow bird on SS tires. I didn't have my wheel hooked up so it was just with the controller. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty. I ended up shifting super early just to keep the tires from breaking loose...but braking was just as difficult causing me to spend more time in the dirt than on the track.

Well, everyone should have a 3400S, why don't we do that on the ring?

Ok, 3400. We can run stock if everyone has one without mods. Otherwise I'll set the pp close to stock and allow people to tune to their preferences.

Daytona still ok, or do you want another track? I'm ok with the full 'ring but we might want to consider damage on light instead.

Race will be tomorrow evening.

I have a stock one that was at 476 after engine and chassis rebuilds. I'm going to cycle the UCD during football today, so I hope to have a few extras if they are needed.

I like this idea. May help/hurt some of us when it comes to tire wear, especially on the 'ring.

Edit: For comparison purposes, I have a restored stock 3400 at 477pp weight is 1300kg.

I have one at 477 as well. If everyone that shows up has one in stock trim, we will disable tuning. Otherwise, plan to tune it to 480pp. I think I have another one if someone needs it.

Oh, and if we go the no tuning route, we should stick to SH tires. The suspension isn't stuff enough to handle the SS tires...at least it wouldnt be enjoyable for a long race.

Yes. I'll update the OP in a second...

Track: Nurburgring TypeV
Car: RUF 3400S
Tune: 480pp
Tires: Sport Hard
Length: 1.5 hrs
Boost: Low
Damage: high (unless people vote for low)
Penalties: off

Did race continue without me or was everyone booted? Have to restart game, give me a minute.

Well that was a waste of an evening. Things were really starting to get interesting when Nic was booted. He had fewer laps on his tires and I was trying to keep up. Esh was close on my tail too, until he parked it.

I'm still not sure how we started 1:00 behind on lap 2, and only gained 15 seconds on lap 3, then gained 30 seconds on lap 4. Maybe Nic crashed? I didn't bother to save the replay.

Anyway, the 3400S is a decent car. I need to spend more time on it though. I'm not very good at Deep Forest but I shouldn't have been losing 1+ second to Nic. I won the Fuji race but my car was very slow through the chicane and final sector. I just didn't have enough grip to rotate the car.

I'm of the opinion that we need to try to run these in someone's lounge. It seems to be much more reliable. Plus the pubbers don't add anything to a race like this.

We can try that next monday. I wanted to see if "fixed host" would help. But apparently not. I find it hard to believe that there would be different network logic for a private lobby, but at least we won't have idiots entering and exiting.
