Borderlands 2

So this is now a thing, I like these and they're cheap enough, but the best part is that they're not identical like all of the others so far.

That reminds me...I made my Commando look like Indiana Jones...or at least the closest possible.

Also, is it me, or do Hyperion Shotguns with Iron sights only seem to have no movement speed penalty when aiming? Because with my Hyperion Interfacer, and my current set up with my Commando, I seem to run extremely fast, and even more so when I kill someone.

Snip....with my Commando, I seem to run extremely fast, and even more so when I kill someone.
I don't know if you're playing Borderlands 2 on the PS3, or if this will work on the 360 or PC, but if you want your Commando to run really fast, then you may want to read through this thread:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/638785-borderlands-2/65236543

Apparently you have to join someone's game for this method to work, meaning....that you can't do it playing Solo or as host. There is a link somewhere in that thread to a video that the topic creator posted. I'll save you some time by posting it here now:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHphq6tDpzk&feature=youtu.be

I'll say that his Commando runs really fast since he can outrun his buddy who is driving a car. I'll never experience this since I don't play online at all.

Wow, I misread that post I linked! I thought they were charging £0.99 per pack (i.e. Supremacy, Madness and Domination and each contains 5 heads and 5 skins), but it's actually £0.99 per head and skin and there are 15 of them, so that's a total of £14.85. I might buy one or two now and wait for the next sale to grab the rest.

So I had an interesting game earlier on.

It started off with me finishing the Real Boy quests with Zer0 and Maya to get two more level 50 Fibbers, but I quit without saving until I got a pair of the high damage stat ones. Of course the stats are a lie but you can tell which barrel you have by the damage stat; if it's three figures appended with x1, it fires a tight shotgun spread at 25% bullet speed but the bullets keep travelling until they hit a solid surface. If its three digits then it fires arcing shots (like the Tinderbox) which bounce off of surfaces, but if the damage is a five figure number the bullets fragment into seven pellets when they hit a surface which then do 50% damage. In doing this I found a chubby Rakk, but didn't bother to kill it as I was going to reload because I got the wrong Fibber, but that's neither here nor there.

So then I swapped my Fibbers and pathetic lv48 Bee over to Salvador to try and solo Terramorphous. After about five tries I realised I wasn't going to make it, so I opened my game up to the public. After five more solo tries I was just about to cheat and load up the difficulty slider (it doesn't really seem to have any impact on loot dropped but does stop enemy health from regenerating when you die), I'd literally just alt tabbed out to do it, when I noticed someone join my game.

Together we killed Terra (to be honest the other guy didn't do much other than distract him, which left me free to gunzerk at my leisure) (that sounds dirty) and he dropped a Slayer of Terramorphous mod for the gunzerker which I happily accepted. Then the other guy asked if I had any legendaries, I said no so he dropped a Mongol, Bee (lv50!), Gub and something else, might've been an Emperor. I was a bit stunned! In return I made four new characters and gave him the Special Edition heads, skins and hilariously useless (as far as I can tell) grenade mod.

I also bought the Domination and Supremacy packs for Zer0, figured two wouldn't hurt. I like them but I found it difficult to move on from my Nihilism/Enigmatic Executioner combo.

Most of the modded CHOPPERs I made had two additional CHOPPERs attached to them. Think I am gonna remove them in favor of not crashing the game by simply shooting the gun. Think I might also fuse the Madhous, Norfleet, Lydia, Grenadier, and Cannon with the CHOPPER, see how much crap hits the fan lol.

Tonight I decided to do some outstanding Badass challenges, I've finished off quite a few but I still have loads left. I can't believe I need to kill Jimmy J3nkins 199 more times to get a skin! I'm now a hair away from 40k Badass ranks.

Edit: That's me done for tonight, managed to hit 40050. I'd been grinding the location-based challenges in the vanilla game, so only earning between 1 and 10 points for 10 minutes or so in each location, but I managed to do Aggravated Assault (2000 kills with assault rifles) which gave me that extra boost.

The toughest challenges in the game in my opinion are Longshot (because it takes ages), Sky Rockets in Flight... (because it appears no one has completed level 4 of that, according to the wiki, I bet there's a skin for level 5), Ammo Eater (again, takes ages, and I haven't found any good Absorb shields (though I'm on 945/1000 now)), Shotgun Sniper and, of course, JEEEEENKINSSSSSS!!! because that's probably impossible to do in my lifetime. I think I'm going to be really cheap and find a very low level assault rifle and SMG and take them to see the Warrior to rack up a huge amount of crits. Oh and the same with a shotgun. I really need to use shotguns more.

I like the challenges, I think they're good. I'm reluctant to spend my time farming loot because of the incoming level cap increase which will render it all useless so running around doing these things seems like an alright distraction; I'm improving all of my characters (even if it is by a negligible amount) and unlocking skins, so that's cool.

Here is something to think about.
People are complaining on the price for skins/heads.
Here is what Randy said to them
People wanted more heads and skins. Stuff takes time and money. A dollar a set is cheap. Don't want, don't buy.

Well he's not wrong, nearly £15 (the price dropped after I bought my first two so it's probably more like nearly £13.50 or something) for the full set is expensive but if you were to buy one or two a week or month or what ever it's really not that bad.

And yes, I've bought a few more... I have all of Zer0's, Axton's Domination and Salvador's Supremacy packs.

And Novi... That's mad. I've just gone as far as to make a spreadsheet of my level 50s' progress, I've done three times as many challenges with Zer0 than the other three. Should be quite a lot of easy ranks there, maybe not an extra ~10k though.

It does not seem that you are aware of the fact that the skin you'll get if you complete Rank 5 of the Jenkins challenge is exactly the same skin that you'll get for completing Rank 5 of the Orange items challenge. (which is much, much easier)

What a complete and utter waste of time if you are serious about this.

Oh, I had no idea. Forget it then!

How do you play - single- or multiplayer? Someone told me that it's completely different game if you play with others. Is it true?

Long story short,

Solo: Easier to farm bosses, grind challenges, rush through the story. Harder because you have to get a kill to revive when you're downed, boring because you don't have the interaction with other players (which isn't often all that entertaining anyway but it can be quite fun to gently troll people). Impossible to get certain items, fight certain enemies and complete certain challenges.

Multi: Much more fun for playing through the story, tougher enemies, better loot, rare chance to bump into someone on a philanthropic mission to give people legendary or rare loot. Pacing can be a problem, it's impossible to tell what quest people are actually doing (it only shows their current story quest, not their current actual quest), I find I often get kicked when a boss is nearly dead so the host can have all of the loot.

So yeah. I find it's easier to get into the game playing multiplayer but if you're a die hard completionist you'll want to play solo a lot too.

Just got the mechromancer DLC. I still haven't tried any of the season pass stuff yet, but im so into the game i have to have it. I saw it for 3.99 (gbp) on wednesday in the PSN january sale and planned on getting it on saturday. Little did i know that wednesday was the last day for the offer. So i just went and got it now. I want to level up more first before starting the DLCs but I can start a new mechromancer class whenever I want now. I'm currently lvl 15, gunzerker And have played exclusively solo.

Just to go add if you haven't read a page or 2 back where you see modded stuff that is another thing Multi has to offer is you get a few modded people and just ruins all the fun.

While in solo there are some things like neema said that you cannot do but also if you really need to complete them there is always a glitch or 2 you can do it make it happen.

For the season pass stuff it is best if you complete PT1, but not to the point where you start PT2. Around 33-35.
For the pirates make sure you have at lease 1 corrosive weapon on you (Loaders)
For torgue it seems like fire and corrosive is the best combo.
Sir hammerlock. Mostly fire with some corrosive.

I have 6 level 50's, most of which are done with a large majority of the easier 100 badass rank challenges.

2 Gunzerkers and one of every other class.

I'm not sure why you are saying that that is the best time to do the DLCs. You know that you can do them all twice with one character, right?....in normal mode, and then again in TVHM (or better yet, Part 2.5).

The quest rewards/chest items that you may get while in normal mode will be about Level 30, which are practically useless to a Level 33-35 character, but if you do them in Part 2.5, then they should be at Level 50, which is the current level cap.

If you do them in Normal you can gain more exp which you can then "Streamline" story missions to get to PT2.5 That is what a lot of people are saying to do. is do all the DLC in Normal mode then Streamline the story to get to PT2.5 to finish the rest.

Ok i have to ask, What is all this PT 2.5 stuff? So far i understand that after completing the story you get to go through it again in true vault hunter mode that just levels every enemy to your level? Ok i get that, How do i go about starting a new character and when is it a good time to do so? Can i start a new class now and at any time or is it best to wait until i get to a certain point with my first character.

So far this is what ive thought - Correct me if im wrong.

Playthrough 1 - Normal mode/New character.
Playthrough 2 - TVHM/Same character, Leveled enemies.

Create new character, Rinse and repeat.

Is this correct?

My main questions are when can i, and whens it best to start a new character and whats PT 2.5.

Sorry for asking what i guess are rather noob questions. :D

PT2.5 is where you beat the game again and all the enemies are scaled to 50 and all the non current side quests also go to 50 (Normally used for unique 50 weapons from side quests)

When you start a new char, when ever it feels right.
Im level 50 and I am on PT2.5 and well I could start a new char or just wait around and see what the level cap does and/or pt3

So PT 2.5 is playingthrough again after TVHM where everything is LvL 50? Ok thats cool.

Now whats PT3? lol. Would that be the same as 2.5, Just repeated? So sorry for my noobyness

Now I have 50694 Badass Rank. I've also noticed my choices for redeeming a token have permanently glitched, and now I can only select Melee Damage, Grenade Damage, or Maximum Health.

Wow, that sucks, I wonder if it's a side effect of modding? I wouldn't mind always having the Melee option but I'm also trying to keep everything relatively even (except for health, melee and crit damage) so everything is between 11.5% and 12.5%. I'm on 42450 now, my regular buddy and I decided to do some epic grinding so we've done the challenges for trades, duels and revives with our primary characters. I really want him to hurry up and get to level 50 but he's content sitting around level 32 farming for loot, even though I keep telling him it's pointless because by the time he's lv35 it'll all be useless.

This whole "stashing loot of all levels so I can keep a new character equipped with purple or better stuff throughout PT1-2.5" thing is getting seriously difficult to manage, I've now got four level 50s, six level 8s, one level 32 and one level 14 who each have inventories and banks containing loot of all levels. Given that you can only move four items at a time, it's so difficult to keep on top of who has what, who needs what and what I should give to who so they can use it in future. I'm considering going through each inventory, keeping one shield and one weapon of each elemental and ammo type from the different levels (I have like six level 25 shields for some reason) and binning everything else. It's too much!

Edit: Oh and I wish there was a no dialogue, no cutscenes option for super fast playthroughs. I hate having to sit through an explanation I've heard about nine times already before I can do the next thing.

The glitch started to happen before I could start modding, but it was slightly different.

Also, one of my friends noticed that there is a hidden down side to using the Evil Smasher. The buffs it gives you slowly eat up memory as you get them, causing your system to inevitably crash unless the game system is restarted.

Wow, way to think out of the box in terms of cons, Gearbox.

EDIT: I also think its' screwing with my internet connection, because I keep disconnecting for no real reason.

PT3 is a rumor that is hinted with the Level cap increase. Which means you can play though again but everyone would be 50-70.

I heard it was going to be raised around the 5th-6th DLC. Not sure on that although.

Also heard the 4th DLC was gonna to be an actual extension to the main story and not just a side story. Not sure on that either.

OK that makes sense now, Thanks very much for your help. ;)

Level cap is Sometime in March (Confirmed) and DLC4 is going to be around there if not soon after in April or May.
