For you PC Gamers, whatever you do...DO NOT USE THE EVIL SMASHER. DON'T DO IT MAN, I AM SERIOUS!

What, because of the crashing? I haven't used it myself and didn't really intend to, but thanks for the warning.
I feel dirty. I happened to glance at the Steam forums and saw a few recent threads where people were offering free loot, obviously duped. I joined one of them, intending to only finish off Nothing Rhymes with Orange (only needed to pick up three), so I went in there, picked up three items and dropped them again. Then I actually had a look at what he had and ended up taking all sorts of stuff, including an Infinity, Longbow, a few Seraph items and some other bits.
Dirty.
The Evil Smasher doesn't smash evil, it MAKES evil to SMASH with. And the evil will stack with every buff. It also screws up your internet connection.
I usually never find myself in those rooms, but the only time I had one of my friend dupe stuff for me was when I was spawnkilling the hell out of Hyperius...the irony here is that I soon lost them when I tried to clear up the loot. I have a feeling that the Evil Smasher + Spawn Killing = fast system crashing.
So what you're saying is, I shouldn't feel too bad because I've just saved myself a load of crashes? Excellent justification! Not sure if it helps me feel less dirty for getting all of Zer0's heads as well though, but the odds of me actually getting G4l4h4d were so slim I just couldn't be bothered. I mean, you have to been in a full room of people willing and able to wait for and then kill Vermivorous, who then might drop a head, which might be for the character you want, and then you have to beat the other three players to actually pick it up. As for BNK3R, Terramorphous and whoever else, I'm still going to farm them eventually because they have other gear I want, and this way if they drop a head I can pass it on to someone else.
Win win win, as they say. Nobody says that. I say it!
Do you ever not mod?![]()
So if modding continues to be a problem it will be an online only and Pay to play. WTG.Not an easy problem to solve - it's been a war of attrition in the software industry as long as there has been software. Then Followed by this Requires data on servers, meaning on-line only, monthly fees and lots of latency given game's pace and core loop.
Well I would probably suggest either limit the modding or just stop or else it could be worse for everyone. As Randy Said

That quote doesn't explain much for me, where did you get it from?

Its all over the forums at gearbox.
What it means that anyone that mods would have to play online and if you have modded stuff you could be banned from the game.
Banned from the game as an entirety? That's massive BS.
I'd really like to know why they don't like modding, because there are MUCH better solutions to this than to screw the entire experience over by making it online only and P2P.
They're acting like they own all physical copies of their games regardless of someone paying for them.
And so on. Have a read of the Borderlands 2 EULA, if it mentions that Gearbox reserves the right to ban you from whatever for whatever then be worried, but it doesn't even use VAC or a centralised server and the game clearly can't detect modded weapons on its own so I'd be surprised if they can ban you.
You have forgotten one thing. SHIFT!
If you have used shift for any codes you are on the server.
Gearbox knows who all signed up what level they are what they all have and whatnot. It was on a livestream or X-play one of those 2. That it clearly says that all your stuff is on Shift. If you didn't sign up for shift then you wouldn't be on there (hence the Pirated software cracks)
As for modding yes I do mod but on games that actually encourage to mod. Like Minecraft and portal and whatnot.
Also like neena said that we really don't own the software we just pay to use the software without a monthly fee (For now)
I did not know that! Oh well, a few ill-gotten legitimate items aside I have nothing to worry about.
And yeah, modding in general is far from a bad thing. Ask Bohemia and Bethesda how they feel about modding, I'm sure they love it. The ones that don't are the EA and Activision types who want to sell you cheat codes and all the various minutiae, they don't want people making stuff they could be selling. Arma II sold probably more copies after Day Z than it ever did without it, though.

Yea, it's a reason why Gearbox knows how many people have hit level 50 with a given char. Since they did say only 12 or 17 percent was at 50 (during interview on X-play).
It mostly depends on the game and the developer.
neema_tOh, I thought that was because they could track achievements and trophies, on Steam you can go and see completion percentages for any achievement. Did you know 5% (last time I checked) of players didn't even get as far as picking up their first gun?
Like the last patch, there will be some weapon nerfing going on. Look for a few of your best shotguns and a couple shield types to get some attention again.
