Bored of GT5

Some players are bored, some aren't, it's the same game with multiple seasonal events, a-spec modes, b-spec modes, licienes, special events, and online racing, so it leads those of us who aren't bored to think 'it's you, not the game'.

Yeah, no. I've completed A-Spec, B-Spec, Licenses and special events. Seasonal events are generic and boring and online isn't great. So yes, it's the game.

Anyone else bored of Gran Turismo 5?

I've accomplished everything I can in GT5 and haven't played in over a month now. So yes, I have grown away from the game and am waiting to be inspired again.

I sincerely hope the next version of DLC will make me want to play again.

Look you do not have to play GT5 constantly to be a fan or feel like your supporting it....I havent played in a long time....to me gaming is a hobby but my education and social life come first. When I game I usually like deep games with good storylines: a lot of rpgs, and some adventure games and platforms. There are a lot of amazing games for the ps3 and it will almost be a waste not to try them.

Point being, play lots of different games and you will never get bored.

Yes, I do.

But then i watch some Best Motoring, Victory By Design, or any plethora of car shows and videos on youtube and elsewhere, and i get Inspired anew.

I recommend this for anyone who loses interest from time to time, to get inspiration from real life.

How can you watch that infamous Yellowbird Nurb video and not feel the need to prove your bollocks are as big as that Deutschmensch?

I didnt touch GT5 since 1 month, tried it again the other and just couldnt play again. Mainly playing FM4 and F1 2011 atm, trying to finish all the solo races there. Gotta say I'm enjoying my times out of it. I was personaly fed up with the seasonal race beeing nearly the same everytime (same pp, not much track variety) and I enjoyed racing online random races but network was messing up all the time and it became harder each time to find clean online room. Also you dont notice it when you play a lot but the screen tearing is actually pretty horrible when you come back to it after a break.

Play GTA IV for a couple of days, do massive havoc and rampage, explode things, kill people. Get back to GT5 and be happy.

Got a DFGT some time ago and it gathers dust for some time since there is nothing to do ...

I'm not surprised you're bored, I haven't been racing offline for... as long as I can remember.

Online is where it's at. Find a room with tyre and PP restriction and you're bound to find good racers, or go shuffle racing or something. You could also consider joining a league.

yeah love the low pp rooms, but I don't have that much time to play online(finding a good-fair room)

Alternatively you could ask yourself why you are bored.

Is it A-spec? Then try this

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=247787

Drop your tyres by two grades and it's a new game.

Is it online? join a club who race properly instead of punt.

Is it GT itself? Take a break, try a different, non-racing, game.

you'd be surprised how easy it is to get back into GT after a short break.

Go back to GT4, try Forza or become a member of Project Cars (you'll be amazed!). GT5 is technically and visually very good but it's not that good a game.

Iracing is great if you have the budget as well, its hard to get into, but once you do it's superb. I've been playing it for a month(along with continuing to play GT5) and it's fantastic.

The rather limited number of tracks in GT5 (half of them reversed to make 'new' layouts) may have something to do with it.

You keep going round and round in the same few number of places - especially since you'll usually disregard several tracks because you don't particularly like them, which leaves even fewer.
Compared to the stature GT5 has in the gaming world, the number of included tracks is actually pretty paltry.

I'd rather have less of the 356 types of Skylines or 286 types of MX-5 and more free DLC tracks, even if they were just ported over from GT4.

(Alternate solution: buy rFactor or GT Legends for a few bucks and get about 350+ tracks for free, including tons of fun little club tracks you've never even heard of.)

I can't deny I have my moments when I need to step back, but I am diehard to this series. Its is what it's it is!!!

If you're bored stop playing, simple.

GT5 unfortunately has fans that don't follow that logic. It has people who are done with the game, but they can't stop talking about it. It is almost as if GT5 has consumed their soul.:ill:

Look at the replies in this thread and those that make them. If you examine their profile, you will notice a trend in their posts, and that is that these people only hang around to complain.👎

I still find it fun because of my friends. Racing with them can be fun.

Bingo!!! I had a practice run with my buddy yesterday and we did at least 30 laps on Seca and it was fun as hell. It is what you make of GT5 in my opinion that makes it boring or fun.

Bored with A-spec, yes as it wasn't very deep or engaging.

Bored overall, no, although I did just get over a little burnout from playing too much. I had to take about 8 weeks off. But I just found the 2.4 hour mixed class enduro at Spa from the WRS guys and that had me super excited. That and I really love the WRS offline events and the competition there.

Getting DLC isn't exactly the best thing to do if you don't like driving in the game.

I hardly do any Seasonal Events, unless I'm grinding but I don't even do that on a regular basis, ever. Haven't completed A-Spec career, level 6 B-Spec. IB or IA license only. Haven't finished all the Special Events. I don't go online on a regular basis. Photo Mode isn't my thing, but I use it for certain things and it's awesome to look at other people's pictures (not gameplay but I had to sound like I'm saying things to make it sound good :)). I don't trade.

I play Arcade/Practice free runs and Course Maker. I've been learning to drift. I do rally races on occasion. Sometimes replays are good to watch. I've been bored with GT5 a lot, but I know why I love it. And I know why I play it randomly. The driving part makes it enjoyable, granted I use a steering wheel (DFGT).

It's not the people, and it's not the game. It's preference. I can easily say FM is the better game. I'd rather have GT and play that for the rest of my life, though. I'd only want FM for some of the cars, that driving in traffic mode, and the touge "track". Can't stand the sounds and reflections and there isn't any rain tracks.

I've been using rain tracks constantly since Spec 2's offline Weather/Time options.

It's never that simple to say "it's the game" or "it's the person" when the fact is that it's all preference. Well yeah, it's the person 👍

Play other games or practice other hobbies.

Any game can get boring if you play it too much

These two basically sum it up 👍

If you're finding anything boring, interact with it less. When you get the desire to play it again, do it - don't force yourself out of habit. I play GT5 much less now than I used to, but I generally enjoy the time more because of that. These are games after all; they should never feel like work.

As much as I agree with some being tired of the game and what not, these threads being made over and over are just as boring. That is what is called irony kids 👍
