Bram Turismo's Gallery - Tournament Round 1 before/after -

All I can say is that I've never seen anyone able to make a Prius look cool, but somehow you've managed the near-impossible! Very nice selection of shots 👍

I hate the Prius.
But your pic does make it look cool.
9/10 for the pic.
1/10 for the car.

Nothing special this time, just a little photoshoot of the GT-One 👍 Didn't bothered to clean everything, but I still have a lot to do on my lightning skills...

The lighting on all of the shots is very impressive, but I think you need to think about composition a little more. There are some minor faults with the compositions of these shots that could be fixed easily, such as the small white mark coming in from the right on the last shot. It's distracting the viewer from an otherwise stunning shot.

i love what you did with the MR2, you did a good job with the road surface too. not too fond of the car itself, but i like how the picture looks overall. the gt-one update has a great panel and all of the pics has this somewhat, calm and mellow feel to it. so nice and simple.

Cool update. As Mog said, the photographic composition is not very evident. Highlights seems a little overexposed in some areas giving a quite flat look, but you update made me go to do some laps with the GTone at LeMans.

I always liked to take a bunch of photos there, and after watching your work I had to do it :)

It's interesting to see GTONE updates from you and alex
background are slightly more interesting
but you did a great job for the composition
hope to see more clean up work from you soon ;)

U haven´t lost the touch of doing amazing shots!!! This GT-One shot shows that well Bram!!!
Always with something beutiful to see here, so update more soon:)

Audi TT Quattro @ New York

This is it. After 1 year of practising with Photoshop, this is what I've learned in that year. I'm nowhere near where I want to be [/440CHARGERfanboy-ism], but I'm quite pleased with what I've achieved. I'm happy with this shot, very clean, I liked the blur and the colours, the rims came out pretty good as well but I couldn't get that taillight to look better...Oh well, it didn't get too far in the Tourney, maybe it didn't suit the theme very well...Anyway, let me know what your thoughts are on this one 👍

I just loved this shot bram. WOW! The reflections and the very clean lines are awesome. I think that your shot (certainly technically) would've deserved the win in our match.

cheers

For me its a very good shot Bram!!! Lovely lines, and great use of the blur like U always do...and also great reflections, really shows the NY mood.
Don´t feel bad about loosing mate, U know how good U are, and U always will be a Champion around here, so don´t give up entering in future comps, like the Tourney.

Happy gallery birthday! 👍
The Audi TT shot is an awesome piece of work Bram, the reflections look really clean without looking too much like a vector and the blur of the background makes it look like the car is going warpspeed!

But I didn't vote for it purely because it didn't really match the theme that well. freddy's shot was well cleaned up but also showed a lot of the city itself, plus the colour balance he had going on was spectacular.

This is still a damn good shot and one to be very proud of too. Your level of cleanup has surpassed anything I can even be bothered to attempt!

Damn, I only realized this was your gallery when I saw this shot on the page's top. I thought it was some guy named BT's gallery... Why did you changed the name? It's not as catchy now.

1st of all, congratulations on the gallery's anniversary, excellent collection of shots, most of them pure eye-candy.

Like I said on the round 1 poll, if it was merely for technique and perfection, your shot would've won by far, but since the theme was 'New York, New York', people were expecting to see a bit more scenery, and that's where fred's shot caught the votes (apart good cleaning and stuff).

the more I look at this shot, the more I think it's your best work so far in terms of cleaning and perfection (surpassing even the Monaro of the other tournament - both shots having the same background basically).

The panel lines are perfectly drawn and very natural, the reflections look not-vectored and with a smoother transition between colors, which helps to get the metallic paint look, the rims actually look very good, not too 'blingy', very realistic, and the transition between the brighter rear and the darker front of the car is extremely well achieved, making primary attention focus where it should on the shot. 👍
Blur is perfectly executed, as always. Top work all around, pretty close to what you'd expect even from 440 himself. :)

Keep updating, Bram. I always enjoy your work and since I'm always trying to improve technically, you're always an inspiration in that aspect, and I could never clean up a car like you've done with this one. Damn near perfect in that.

Well, it ain't actually my gallery birthday, not untill October that is, but it's my CS2 package which is 1 year now. Any of you guys remebered when I started with PS? Quite a wile ago now...

Anyway, thanks for the feedback 👍

im speechless  have the say, that an brilliant picture! theres no pixel**** everywhere like an some other peoples have.. Its so clean and smooth and.. you know what i mean 👍 =) keep on gouing!

whoah! nice work BT brill update this one, the wheels and tarmac, its so realistic! Extremly clean shot, as always! and the brake lights add a drop of colour, just enough to make the shot even more beutiful!

As your title says " The Dominance Continues!"

A technically brilliant shot from you Bram, what we have come to expect.
There were a few things that I didn't like about it though.
This angle is one we have seen quite a lot from you, the whole picture is a bit too grey and a little dull. Would of been better imo if the car was a different colour or if you had a more interesting backdrop.
The car is amazingly clean, but it boarders on a vector image to me.

Sorry if that sounds like I hate the image, because I don't. The blur is superb, as is the cleaning. Just thought I would tell you my reasons for not voting for it.

👍

that has to be one of the nicest i've seen from you. happy gallery bday. i know it's a bit late, but better late than never. looking back from your gimp days, you've improved so much. comparing your old work to now is like and day. i dont know why your shot didn't get too far in the comp, as it is really really nice. i guess your opponnent got the better out of you two. but i have to say that you did a very good job with that photo and you should be proud of it. i hope you bring more updates soon.

Thanks guys 👍

Cadillac CIEN @ Deep Forest Raceway

I used some different techniques on this shot. Instead of having only 2 layers for the blur (blur and gaussian to get rid of the unblurred pieces), I used 8 layers, each with a different amount of blur, decreasing with 2-5 to keep the blur sharp and crisp without having unblurred areas. Looks like it works, I'm really happy with the blur in this one. I also used a different technique towards the colours. Instead of just adjusting contrast etc. I only touched the levels, afterwards I duplicated that changed layer and changed the blending mode to overlay 👍 This one came out pretty sweet IMO, but I definitly have places to improve like getting the rims correct qua contrast and colour and getting the lines and directions of reflections correct. Let me know what you think

I love it! It reminds me of the Cadillac Cien I used to own on Gran Turismo that was purely created to win the Costa di Amalfi race. It was purely honed to it, so it had the spoiler and all the othe runder the hood extras, I loved it until I found a quicker way to earn cash.

I really do like the picture, the side of the car is ever so clean so much so it absoultely over shadows my recent work that I was proud of. Really nice blur too. The rims don't look quite right but I suppose it adds to the effect of the whole picture. Really good work, check out my galleryif you have time!

I love the wheels on this shot, and the blur and background in general look amazing, I'm glad to see you've started to experiment with blending modes because they can come in very useful indeed!

However, the car looks like a little on the cartoony side for my liking. You're very very good at your cleanup methods and they make the car look insanely clean but real cars never look that perfect when driving out and about. But I guess that's your style and it works for you!

Woah now that's ace! i love the style you have used on this page welldone !

However i think the Audi is better, i just cant resist those clean lines and reflections!

I remember I was defeated by 440 with similar shot in the final round. Totally speechless. Your version is just as good as it gets. Extremely clean and crazy looking. Good job bram 👍 For the Audi TT, it looks really nice too!! Too bad to see you leave the comp early.

Very nice work Bram. 👍 I have always used that technique for the blur but I donut aways use different amounts of blur for each layer, I use the same amount. Works great. Are you getting tutored by 440charger cause your shots are looking just like his, which inst a bad thing. Yea, the cars look a little cartoony but they are so clean I cant help but stare at them. Again, nice work.
