From the trailer, looks as if PD have upped the historic car years, from GT Sport 1979 cut off, to possibly, 1999(seeing the R32 GT-R '94 and GT500 Supra '97 in one of the two buildings).

Just having a look at this Ken Block video as an example of Audi's racing history


Some of these cars have been in previous Gran Turismo games. Wondering if PD will take us on some type of journey through each brand. Not just a brief write up of the cars they chose.

Did you look at some of the prices there, 90+ million credits for some cars.
One can only assume that making credits in GT7 is going to be alot easier/quicker.

I've read that there is a localization difference between the japanese version of GT Sport and the "Rest of the world" version. The japanese version is set with a yen currency equivalency, so the prices are like 100 times higher than versions that work with Euro/Dollar equivalency, and that is why prices in that GT7 trailer are that high (because they show a japanese version, and because the same localization difference will be present in GT7). I haven't been able to find much online to confirm this, aside from a reply in another forum, but if it is true, then those prices wouldn't be as bad. It's still expensive but much less eye-watering than paying 90M for a rebodied Plymouth Valiant (the XNR Roadster shown in the Brighton Antiques portion of the trailer).

That's only because the credits system on the Japanese version is based on the yen, not the dollar. 90 million on the Japanese version would be equivalent to 900,000 credits for the rest of the world.

It’ll be like how GT4 set up the classics in the dealerships. The Japanese version of the game called the ‘Classics’ portion of the dealership ‘Legendary Cars’ which included historical vintage vehicles such as:

And relatively modern vehicles which hold/gain in value or are considered “instant classics”:

Most of the race cars that were a couple years old were placed in the Classics category for being successful and iconic.

It’ll be like how GT4 set up the classics in the dealerships. The Japanese version of the game called the ‘Classics’ portion of the dealership ‘Legendary Cars’ which included historical vintage vehicles such as:

I'd say an argument can be made to place the Viper RT/10 roadster(if it were in GT7) as a legend, but it could just be placed in the UCD. The Viper GTS, is shown as being in the UCD. Probably not as significant as a Corvette.

So, maybe the Mini Cooper S '65 is a Legend. As well as the VW GTI '83. However, the Mazda Roadster NA is shown in the UCD. I don't know.

Well, there are already post 1999 cars already in the regular used section, like Clio Sport V6 24V, RX-7 Spirit-R, Viper GTS (it was a Legendary in GT4!), and even Abarth 500 and Scirocco R.

Mazda Roadster was never a Legendary car even in GT4 though.

Mazda Roadster was never a Legendary car even in GT4 though.

That’s what I’m talking about. We’ll have to see what cars PD chose to be classic, significant, icons, etc. if that Viper is a Legend, then there we go. Why isn’t the Mazda Roadster? It’s historic, significant, iconic.

Rarity may be part of the equation, the Mazda Roadster/MX-5 is a far, far more common and easilly acquired vehicle than the Viper.

Oh, I can see the rarity. Thing is, the 2CV was in production for a long time. About four million of those. Less than the Mini and less than the Beetle. Way more than the NA roadster, only about 400,000. That’s why I’m wondering.

WWhy can't any car be available used, as well as new? Other than absolutely brand new models that just rolled off the production line you can always find used versions of new cars in real life, barely 6 months old or less, so why not in GT?

I wish Polyphony would bring back unique logos when browsing through the dealerships. That extra layer of polish was always very classy I thought.

True, and it's not even a PD exclusive trait. It adds up to showing what the car has other than the stats like hp, etc. But so far both trailers don't feature that, though the new one has Tuning Shop one not even having the brand using their logo in the shop.

I guess in BA, it’s not going to be solely price driven. Going by some real world prices, a Mangusta might not be much more than the Pantera.
