insulted them

Unless he stitched the balloon together himself, that would be like Khan holding Trump responsible for anyone making an anti-Khan protest in the USA. Besides, the insults were thrown in the opposite direction as I recall.

told them they aren't welcome in their house

That's strange because his stance hasn't changed since you blamed the messenger for the message last January, the message being that a State visit by Trump would be unpopular with Londoners after he had retweeted the words of the leader of a nationalist group one of whose members had just murdered a young female MP in cold blood, but that he'd be fine with an unofficial visit.

1.8 million Londoners would appear to agree. That's an awful lot of retaliatory blimps to crowdfund should any of them ever decide to visit the United States.

It does surprise me how many rightwing snowflakes there are though...
They don't seem to be much into this "free speech" thing. Nigel Farage's "wah wah but Obama" comment was somewhat predictable. Personally I think a baby Obama balloon would look cute and I'm fairly sure that he would have taken it in good humour as he has all those constant attempts to delegitimise his presidency that Farage appears to have forgotten about.

At least that Spanish woman put her money where her and her fellow Trumpite's mouths are, even if she doesn't live here any more. They only raised a third of the baby Trump total though.

Interesting that according to Fox the president is avoiding London so that he doesn't have to look at the inflatable effigy. Now what was that about balls...? At least he'll have plenty of chances should the planned world tour go ahead though.

Indeed, Trump’s such a coward he’s avoiding the capital as much as possible

AFAIK he wasn't part of the group:

On 16 June 2016, Jo Cox MP was fatally shot and stabbed outside a library in Birstall, by a man who eyewitnesses said shouted "Britain first" as he carried out the attack.[119] One witness told BBC News that he was uncertain whether the suspect was shouting "Britain first" or "put Britain first".[120] Another man said that he did not hear the words at all.[121] The party issued a statement denying any involvement or encouragement in the attack and suggested that the phrase "could have been a slogan rather than a reference to our party".[122] The group's leader, Paul Golding, condemned the attack, saying, "We hope that this person who carried it out is strung up by the neck on the nearest lamp post. That's the way we view justice.

As for Khan/Trump, they need to stick to their jobs instead of mouthing off in public. London/the US would be very grateful if they could do this.

Mair was never found to have been a member of BF (a group however that doesn't just have a formal organisation), he was however found to have strong ties to a large number of similar groups, many of which Golding has also been members of.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Jo_Cox

In regard to what he shouted, the term Britain First was said to have been used by him during the court case, that however never focused on the context of it.

My view is that regardless of any direct links, the actions of BF (and similar groups) are part of the reason why people like Mair feel justified to carry out actions such as this.

The current prison sentences the two leaders of BF are serbser would support that.

I'm guessing the Americans will be a little more creative with their blimp caricature of Khan if and when he should ever dare to come for a visit. I cannot wait to see what they come up with and look forward to it with delicious anticipation. I will particularly enjoy the torrent of faux and hypocritical outrage that will surely ensue. If I thought he had the stones to make the trip I'd pay for it myself just for the lulz:lol::lol:
Why wait, pay for one to fly over London.

Why would you make a balloon of Khan again?

1. Americans making the balloon.
2. If I thought he had the stones to make the trip I'd pay for it [the trip] myself.

Oh ok, so you'd pay for the trip not the balloon? Why would Americans, make a balloon of Khan then?
For fun? For the lulz? Tit for tat? What's good for the goose? Monkey see monkey do? They like balloons? Someone will make a profit on it? Politics? All of the above?

Oh, ok, so you where just parroting Fox News garbage for the lulz, fair cop.
The Khan blimp is a little more creative despite being an exact copy of the Baby Trumpie one (although presumably smaller due to the comparatively lower budget).

I mean, not really though?
Khan just ok'd the balloon, but only after a petition was signed and sent to his office.
It would have been more creative to go after, I don't know, maybe someone who's political position these Americans dislike? A Khan blimp is literally the laziest 'come back' ******** Fox and Friends could have come up with after rubbing together all of their brain-cells. It doesn't even make sense.

I don't read or watch Fox News, sorry. Please withdraw this remark as I don't want your innaccurate representation of my opinions to affect my reputation for original content.

Hmmm... not sure I believe you to be honest... I mean, I just wanted a reason why you singled out Khan (and even offered to fly him half way across the planet)... given he’s only loosely associated with it and you either couldn’t, or refused too

And I gave a reason. I gave many reasons.

Saying I didn't is blatantly false. Those are my opinions. If they happen to agree with Fox News or CNN or Pravda or the BBC why would that matter? Or do you scour the internet to see who my opinions agree with in the hopes of finding a news source you don't like and associating me with it? Unless you have some evidence of me watching Fox News I suggest you withdraw that pointless and blatantly false association.

I mean, you didn't give me an answer, you gave me a bunch of possible answers, posed as questions.
And no, I did something you had a go at me for not doing (remember that?), I simply googled it and that Fox News link was the first hit (at the time).

Posed as questions because you're asking me to speak for someone else.

Hence you're asking me to guess what their reasons might be. And if I google your thoughts and they come to a certain place does that mean that's where you got them? It's false logic. Fake News if you will. Withdraw it unless you have proof that I actually went to Fox News.

You guessed Americans would make a Khan blimp and then said you'd pay for his flight... the first mainstream place that suggests such an idiotic response is Fox (unless I've missed one), so it would seem like you comments and the Fox piece lined up. If you really don't read Fox (which I'm not sure I believe) then fair enough my bad.

But when you post something that is so idiotic and thoughtless it seems fair to question it (unless it was a joke), especially when it was the same line Fox News took around the same time.

I just want to bring it back to your original post, because I'm so bad at reading;

This line in the middle, seems odd. If you just thought some Americans would make a balloon, but didn't really know why (as you suggested in your other reply), why are you excited for it?
delicious anticipation

Again, if you really don't read Fox then I apologise, but to make such wild posts, and then to back them up with *shrug i dunno* seems to simply be someone peddling someone else's ideas you don't really understand

I find characterizing my comments as "idiotic and thoughtless" as abusive and uncalled for in a civilized discussion. I also find the insinuation that I don't understand what I'm posting insulting. I find this entire post nothing more than a baseless insult attempting to discredit my contributions here.
