Boris resigned?
Oh no....

Anyway.....

Wonder what self promoting, self serving, backstabbing, incompetent neep we will get next.

I feel the political parties should be moulded into one party that serves the UK.

My recommendation for your next PM would be Liz Truss. When you are in the midst of a war with Russia, you need continuity of leadership.

If you can't see your way clear to her, I would suggest a South East Asian.

My mom literally said the same thing last night.

Any particular one, or just grab one off the streets or a dinghy?
PP has them all in Rwanda...

This is exactly why we don't listen to you seriously on these matters...

...as you've now managed to mix the UK up with Ukraine, still it is at least in the spirit of something the idiot Liz Truss would do and would manage continuity of idiocy and gaffs.
If you can't see your way clear to her, I would suggest a South East Asian.
Excellent, my Mother in Law for PM it is then.

Trying to understand your rationale here?? Did you mean South Asian or East Asian instead??

AFAIK the only current MP to fit the "South East Asian" criteria would be Sarah Owen, but she's a Labour MP....

My rationale is that the UK needs leadership more oriented to the outside world, and not with such insular focus you'd get with a native.
Doubling down on racism. Cool.
cool andy samberg GIF

In other news I caught Angela Rayner actually speaking for the first time the other day - I don't watch TV, because I don't have a licence, so I don't have background news on and I've never heard her speak before now.

She literally has two completely different accents fighting with each other. One is sort-of-Tameside and the other a much posher RP-type accent that isn't allowed much breathing room.

It sounds exactly the same as, but the opposite of, Sean Bean's Alex Trevalyn in Goldeneye - where his Oxford MI6 pretend accent is layered over the top of some Sheffield screaming to get out.

I know that you've got to be ambitious in politics, but some of the MPs running or intending to run for the leadership of the Conservative Party (and, by extension, the role of Prime Minister...) are so ludicrously deluded it is almost beyond belief...

Grant Shapps...

tv land lol GIF by nobodies.

Seriously, Grant "Who the **** is Grant Shapps" Shapps...??!... oh, you mean this guy...??

Yes, that is actually him..., but you may be forgiven for thinking it was perhaps someone called Michael Green...

He also went by the names Corinne Stockheath and Sebastian Fox as well.

And this guy seriously thinks he can/should be Prime Minister??

Go Away Reaction GIF

If elected I'm sure Corinne'll be able to make the country a "ton of cash by Christmas" by establishing another pyramid scheme under one of his/her many pseudonyms, er "pen names".

Jeremy CHunt throws his hat into the ring too...

Seriously bad and very funny language warning *including subtitles in YT videos... quite fittingly for a post about prospective Tory leadership candidates, it's mainly comprised of alot of cu...lture sectretaries

... shocking to say that he is probably the least offensive of all the candidates thus far.

If he did ever become Prime Minister, he might change the name of his party to the Huntservatives...

Sajid Javid has also pulled out after failing to gain the 20 supporters needed to continue... 20!!!

And Priti Patel has also pulled out of the Tory leadership race, even though she more than surpassed the minimal entry requirement of a basic lack of humanity...

So it looks like one of either Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman, Jeremy Hunt, Penny Mourdant, Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, Tom Tugenhat, or Nadim Zahawi is going to be our next Prime Minister.

It seems to me that the race to become the leader and therefore Prime Minister is full of people who think nothing of trashing their colleagues to attain the top job for themselves, despite being in the same party...

It's like the applicants want to be captain of a sinking ship just so that they may call themselves Captain.

Never mind they have a ship to steer to calmer waters.

Prestige before the people.

If this is the sort of news American's are getting then it's no wonder they have such a divide!

Anyone living in Britain whether you're Tory or Labour will vouch that this is absolutely 100% made up. What are they doing over there?!

Just mental. Absolutely mental.

I find the Priti thing a bit sinister to be honest, she basically said she was swerving the leadership race to concentrate on "protecting our borders", so you know where her joy and passion lies...

UK PM race most diverse in history, two British Indians on shortlist

As the race to replace Boris Johnson as British Prime Minister just officially begun, it has already made history for its diverse line-up of candidates, including two British Indians

The race to replace Boris Johnson as the Conservative Party leader and British Prime Minister may have just officially begun but it has already made history for its diverse line-up of candidates, including two British Indians.

Frontrunner former Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Attorney General Suella Braverman, both 42, have much in common as UK-born Indian-origin politicians who campaigned for Brexit in the 2016 referendum.

The others vying for the top job at Downing Street on the ballot paper as the nominations closed on Tuesday evening also reflect that diversity in London-born former minister Kemi Badenoch, 42, of Nigerian origin and Iraq-born Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi, 55, who came to the UK as a refugee when he was 11 years old and his family fled Baghdad under Saddam Hussein.

Trade Minister Penny Mordaunt and Tory backbencher Tom Tugendhat, are both 49 and have a military background, with Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, 46, and former minister Jeremy Hunt, 55, completing the list of eight Conservative Party MPs nominated for the race.

Comment: Most of world respects the UK as greatly favored by its education, opportunity and respect for human rights and dignity. Yet the candidates for PM have been uniformly condemned as human excrement on this forum. The smartest and most favored people on Earth appear to be the most unhappy and resentful.
