Glad to see some of the Cabinet finally growing a pair - now the rest of the Cabinet will be pissed off that they didn't go first, as it puts Sunak and Javid in the driving seat in terms of a leadership contest.

That said, there are plenty of people who needn't bother running in a leadership contest because they are too far up Johnson's arse - Dorries, Rees-Mogg, Patel and Raab to name a few.

edit: Liz Truss has fallen in line behind Johnson. No surprise - and she should be one of the first out of a job when Johnson quits. Raab and Patel also sticking to Johnson like **** on velcro.

Our new Health Secretary has no medical training and has never worked in a hospital (just like all the previous ones). So that's fun.

Oh, and my MP is the new Education Secretary.

She had to, before PP saw it and shipped him off to Rwanda.
She actually reposted it (believe it or not!) but has now corrected her error about Zahawi moving to Health rather than becoming the new Chancellor/No. 2 in command. Clearly she must have thought someone else would be in line for that prestigious honour, even if it is only for a day or two...

Meanwhile, 5 more ministers just signed a joint resignation letter, bringing the total number of resignations in the last 24 hours to well over 20. (edit: 26 and counting....)

And rumour has it that Michael Gove is on his way to 10 Downing Street, leading a delegation of senior Tories to give Boris the bad news...

Liaison committee meeting is glorious
It's absolutely cringe-worthy, though it is a fittingly excruciating and pathetic display from a total shambles of a Prime Minister.

He is in total denial and simply won't accept that his critics have a point, let alone that he ought to do the decent thing and quit.

Why don't you simply convict him of his crimes and put him in prison?

But he has a mandate!

And.....vaccines!

Love that the BBC has a resignation counter above their ticker

He's already received fixed penalty notices for the only crimes (that we know of) that he's committed during his time in office. Being a lousy Prime Minister isn't in and of itself a crime.

I don't care who replaces bojo as long as we continue our support to Ukraine.
The thing that pisses me off is that Johnson appears to think that he is the only person capable of supporting Ukraine... he ain't. The fact that he's relying on his support for Ukraine to keep him in his job is pathetic and even undermines his own credibility.

I expect a big jump in the very near future. Basically everyone in the Cabinet except for what Starmer hilariously called 'The Lightweight Brigade' at PMQs earlier today will quit tonight unless Johnson resigns.

Yeah, he's supporting Ukraine! The UK needs to drop everything because Ukraine. Ukraine makes the UK government beyond reproach and above any criticism. If you make Johnson quit Zelenskij will be sad and you'll be the bad guy. You will be on the wrong side of history. Don't forget, this is Ukraine we're talking about. Ukraine. We're supporting Ukraine so you can't change anything now!

It's the sickest and most deplorable attempt at manipulation of the electorate's feelings I can ever remember.

I don't care as long as we use a sensible form of proportional representation at the next election...

.. Which we won't, so I do care. I've pretty much rousoundingly come to hate this country over the last 7 years. We need genuine change and genuine reform at all levels, getting rid of blowJo doesn't fix the system, getting rid of the #ToryScum doesn't fix the system... fixing the system fixes the system... And some times to fix stuff you have to rip out a lot of useless, unserviceable, irrepairable rotten crap.

Johnson is reportedly refusing to resign, and so more Cabinet resignations are now inevitable.

We all know that Johnson is an absolute disgrace, but now he seems hellbent on destroying what's left of his credibility. Shameful.

A fascist, plutocratic wannabe autocrat.

#Clownfall is trending, which naturally makes me think of the film Downfall, difference with that is after having numerous subordinates clarify what's going on on the ground (and several tantrums), Hitler did eventually concede everything was lost...

Michael Gove has been sacked by Johnson over the phone, with No.10 releasing a statement describing Gove as "a snake"...

Incredible. The paranoia and shamelessness of it is approaching Trump level.

Someone should deepfake Johnson into that scene 🤣
