Good plan Rolo and shall hopefully yield some interesting results. One thing to remember though is that during an actual race it isn't always possibile to gauge the performance of a car due to the racing circumstances, draft, traffic, offs, talent, etc.... But any data is better than no data. :D Hopefully all cars will be on par and there will be only minor changes required. Time will tell I guess.

I'll be testing cars tomorrow. I'll be taking this evening off to spoil the missus, so I should be in her good books and able to sit on the playstation uninterrupted for a few hours on Saturday. 👍 Or at least that's my plan......burnt chicken anyone?

Wet weather? Not too sure about that one. I've never done any online wet weather racing before. What happens to the tyres? (yes, I know that the tyres get wet, before anyone mentions it.;))

The grip suffers and traction is compromised so you can't just stamp on the power in the middle of a 3rd gear corner without suffering colossal understeer in an FF or spinning out in an FR. But tyre wear should be a little less because of the water contact between the tyre and the road.

I vote no for the wet stuff just for this season maybe, gonna be tricky enough getting used to new tracks and drivers.:indiff:

Ascari not my thing, but so far around 20s >_>
Ok just done another 10 laps, I'm in trouble as 2:22.??? not better.
So 7/8 secs off the pace, there is only one Ascari full track yeah
2:20.805 a good time?

i'm puzzled too; i do not see where i lose so much. I'm at 20.5 too... maybe i should cut those mini chicanes? are we allowed to?

i do not care at all for ascari, it's like a tourist track not a racetrack in my opinion and won't spend much time in it (thanks drop scores lol) but, 5 seconds seems way too much... i guess i should move down to pre-qualys

You can have mine fella if your quick:tup: my plan to return has been scuppered sadly.:nervous:

Yea I'll have it  as long as the water stays away and my electricity doesn't get taken away again

I like multi weather races but I vote no for this season. If it's going to be a bit of a test season, then wet races (good rain drivers) may hide/effect what cars are quick or slow, that may otherwise need adjusting.
If that makes sense to anyone

@Malcom Tucker - I'm testing online. Thankfully my connection allows me to host my own room without getting disconnected, so I test online usually on my own and with the correct room settings.

Interesting, I'm gonna try this tonight 👍

See my quoted post below for details on how to tackle those chicanes:

OK then, here's some images of what is acceptable and allowed:

This is the first chicane after the start/finish straight. Obviously mirror this image if your line takes the left hand kerb instead of the right.

This is the chicane further round the lap. I'd say the normal line through here involves two wheels on the kerb through the left kerbing, then what you see here through the right kerbing. The left bend afterwards is treated as normal.

Hope that helps 👍

Mate!... this sucks! Alexanda has the full-time seat then.

I'm looking for a new team-mate.. open for offers :)

Wet racing not happening this season. You guys are right, too much of a complication.

good call rolo. variable whether is good but maybe this season its better to wait. As long as this season is fair and successful, will the same cars, rules and regs apply to BTCC-8?

My lounge is open for testing.

Finally seen the pit lane bug at Ascari for myself... will make a decision regarding replacing it soon.

Think I need some rolo training, you about tomorrow morning at all Rolo?

Hmm no need, it's tough considering we've all run a lot there, but that pit bug is quite unfair on whoever suffers it. Ascari is still a very decent proving ground, but for the season I'm gonna have to replace it with Spa.

Vw
The time difference weight makes is weird.

PD logic  It's still 1530 as per OP for now. Still no changes to report anywhere with the list.

Same rules definitely. Pre-qualifying depends on how well the numbers hold up. Possibility for one or two new cars, and of course a revised calendar. But otherwise much the same yes.

Can confirm the night race will be at Bathurst (provided it runs at night... was surprised to hear Silverstone doesn't).

Spa. :(

Would it be worthwhile putting the start date back a week? It allows a little extra time to get things balanced before the real racing begins. I'd much rather wait an extra week than have a false start and problems to resolve. Nothing worse than a controversial problem at the beginning of a season which results in changes having to be made. GT6 is constantly changing and no doubt v1.05 is going to be thrusted upon us shortly which could potentially screw everything up again.

That's my major annoyance with PD. We tune the cars, get them equally matched, master the handling characteristics for a certain car and then along comes PD with an update or a hotfix which changes the car/game.

I have no idea how that VW can be so much quicker with a minor weight change. That's just mental. lol. Rolo - are you keeping the ballast in the central position each I have I have no idea how that VW can be so much quicker with a minor weight change. That's just mental. lol. Hmm, let's see how the next couple of weeks go. To be honest I'm prepared for this season to be a little unbalanced because the game has so many bizarre things in it that anything is possible... if I delayed it could be continuous. As you say, an update could come along mid-season to muck things up completely. Seems silly to wait for something that may not arrive for ages though.

The Scirocco is a complete animal... I had the ballast set to 34 for the 2:15 run, and when I dropped the weight I shifted it to 50. What's even weirder is I did another run at 1530 to begin with to see if I'd just done a bad run, and I went even slower?! :ouch:

Bit lost Rolo are we allowed to tweak car settings.
As from start I thought not then I think we are then your thinking of droping LSD.
So with that I'm thinking not, but also thinking there be alot of trust if we not allowed.

Then I want to stop thinking best to ask lol
