Most people are running laps on Grand Valley East at the moment at between 1:05-1:08 so if your inbetween those you should be good đź‘Ť

EDIT:

Just ran 1 lap of that track and did 1:38.826 (using Racing Mediums), i'm running 344bhp with 1018kg at 500PP

Thanks mate, wanted a bit of reassurance that I wouldn't be left in the dust, problem is when I drop PP to less than 500, I lose like 30bhp :/ What car are you using?

Shall try GVE next time I'm on :) Looks like it's gonna be close racing

Please, someone, anyone, help. I so far dome 4x 10 races on GVE and have ONCE got a 1:07.973, but then I struggle to get past at least a 1:08.8xx

I don't know whether I'm a naff or the cars naff, but I was struggling to kingdom come before that, couldn't get out of the 1:09's, so I popped driving line on (oh god) and abs 1 and slapped an RKM tune on it - finally I got below that damn 1:08 barrier...

Please could someone get the C30, tune it to the regs and tell me what the car can do. I would be eternally grateful ;)

Also, after each race, when I was just below 500pp before hand, I magically become above 500pp. I now have the ECU set to 94.x% but my car is losing bhp after each race!!! Not sure whether it's a widespread problem though, but if I join the practice session in the race, by the time the race starts I'll be way above 500pp -.-

I have a c30 with the RKM tune i can run it in the 1:07's usually ;)

ah. so I suck :/ what do you have that rear spring rate as? it looks like a 2, but I deemed this unlikely so set it as 12...

EDIT: Actually, I take that back, changed the rear springs back from 12, and did 3 consecutive 1:07.7's :P I'm now a happy bunny

I have a C30 set up to use the RKM tune, its @ 354bhp, 1186kgs and posts 500PP

I have added all the parts but use the default turbo to meet the regs, I just ran some laps and posted the below so its not a great deal faster than what your doing

1:07.644
1:07.575
1:07.536

your bhp is increasing after each race because the engine is running in, instead of using the engine to decrease the PP try changing the air filter or some other parts and it doesn't seem to effect as much as using the restricter.

EDIT:

That was on medium tires, if your posting 1:07 on hards then thats pretty fast ;)

That's funny, because my C30 is running at 1188kg, 341bhp and has 500pp...

Thanks by the way for the feedback, I now feel much better :) haha

your right, that is funny :scared:

It handles really well tho and always feels stable đź‘Ť

Aerodynamic is used to calculate the PP too.
Thats why I had a 2nd car without the rear wing to test wich way is better. Still need to make a last run to choose between one of them.

My C30 has the wing but my car for the championship doesn't (at this point), I havent put on on there as it looks better without it however im not sure if it will actually help on some tracks?

What kind of increase does it have on PP?

I was going to do the same actually, the wings on the back but the powers at the front :) I've changed the RKM tune to get it a bit looser, but on it's own it's brilliant.

Plus, it looks more like a car from BTCC with the wing ;)

random fact: just had a play about with my civic setup round GVE, did 3 consecutive laps with times within .014s (1:06.212, 1:06.202, 1:06.216)
nice and consistent methinks :sly:

pretty good running there!

i'm yet to break into the 1:06's (my best so far is 1:07.012) but i'm actually only running stock settings at the moment. I need to get full suspension/transmission/camber/lsd settings ready for a race set up but haven't had time yet. Once thats done i'm hoping I find at least another 0.5 or better so I can run low 1:06's

Oh God, maybe I should paint my C30 a bright orangey red with White wheels - that way I would be a mobile chicane ;)

But even so, that's consistent running that! I did 10 laps on Nurb GPD, pretty consistent, but pretty pedestrian...

Haha, no need for that mate, you're all gonna have to watch out for a big green barge creeping round the track! Haha. The only thing I seem to be consistant at is being off the pace by a second! Lol.

Anyone got a good set up for the ford focus rs 02 . Struggling to get down to the 1.07's need to find a good set up

Don't worry to much about speed on GVE. You have to be a lunatic to do the faster times, which in a race is not good, tires will die lol.

Plus races never go to plan, you will get hit, you will be inconvenienced, more than likly many times, even if you aren't the one at fault. You will more than likely have to pit more than once due to damage.

Qualifying lap times are only half the story. Heck, a quarter of it even.

When we have PSN back up, I will buy all faster cars, and buy a car that isn't top notch.

Will then do my up most best to get the slower car as fast as I can, then downgrade the faster cars to match. E.G. Civic Type R '08 , possibly the EP Civic, Integra Type R definitely. Maybe Ford focus, but that will only be slight.

355bhp is slightly high for BTCC so we cant UP the power on the slower cars so bringing the power down a touch for the faster ones is the way to go.

A Integra will probably be nice with running 485pp
Civic '08 running 490pp
Civic EP & Focus running 495pp

Just a few ideas to even out the pack.

your not wrong there!, I can make my hards last 15 laps but mediums not a chance. Gonna be interesting in race 2 when HAVE to pit:scared:

My fastest round there is 1.06.1, but in full race trim I'm averaging around the 1.07.0 mark.

By full race trim do you just mean you've turned tyre wear etc. on, or have you got adjusted camber and stuff? My mediums hang on pretty well - presumably as I'm not going as fast ;) for me it feels like I'm really ragging it though

I have A different setup for qualy & the race. helps me place my car at the front of the grid but get little wear on the tyres in the race..

It's probably more important in the fwd cars to have different setups.

I'm still learning about doing setup work, I never really bothered with it in previous GT's. I'm using my knowledge from RC car racing, and hoping it relates to the game!

intresting.............

I'm having a play around with things at this end to see if I can find a good balance between fast and low tire wear.........

Not going to plan :ouch:

Haha, I've never been that serious about setups, it's usually just lower it and stiffen everything up. The setup I'm using on my 330i is based on a less extreme drift setup! Can't say it's the quickest setup ever, but it suits my driving style.

No need to insult people, man. :sly:
I finally beat my best online time offline (i hope you understand this). lol
Best time 1:04.886. Really dificult to make that better. I'm only shaving a couple of hundreds of a second. Now i just need to learn how to tune the damn LSD. :ouch:

PS: The Integra really needs to be capped somehow.
I did around 20 laps in the 135i and the best i achive was a low 06 if i remember.
