which turbo are using? mid gives more torque but on gve you are always in the high range.. also try a spoiler and some negative front TOE .. maybe also some front & rear camber
I'm using the mid ranger, considering ditching it and doing engine tuning as high end speed is pretty dire :)

I have a spoiler but I don't think its doing a great deal of good. I have had a quick tinker and I can consistently run in 1:07's now (contain your laughter) But by lap 10 my tyres are feeling a bit of pain

ok.. ill give you a pretty awesome tip so here goes lol.. suspension setting..

With an FF car you want you're TOE to be set to - on the front as this will increase your cars ability to corner. for the rear you want a +TOE because oversteer is unlikely so you can have a bigger angle.. take it to your own preference!

Camber is something you yet again want to increase.. for the front you always want atleast .5 to 1.0 more on the front than the rear but id suggesthaving both round 2.0ish.

As for your actual suspension components.
You want you're ride hight in the - but you always want you're front lower than the rear as this will give the Rear more freedom. Having the car lowered gives a better centre of gravity and increases the cars aerodynamic ability.

Spring rate4 again influences the understeer and oversteer. A harder back end than the front = oversteer but with an FF this will improve handling. Softer on the Rear means understeer but again take these numbers to a personal choice and adjust a little each time you feel it needs changed!

Compression and Extension work together. If you have a high extension of say 8, then you want roughly 5 or 6 compression. but if you want to have a very loosecar you lowe these numbers alot!

Anti roll bars pretty much ar the finishing factor in a setup.. once you feel your happy but think heres something jsut not right.. try the roll bars. these stiffen the car up and reduce body roll!

ALL of this information is in the game itself. the orange boxes with the question marks!. They are really helpfull people :)

I still like the idea of 300 bhp 1200kg as everyone is on a level playing field so racing would be a hell of a lot closer 👍

Yep i know. I just can't figure out the toe interpretation in those values. But that helped a lot.
Can't wait to get back home and fiddle a litle more in the setup.

Thanks a lot

- = toe out
+ = toe in

Lol.

I realized that from your previous post. I think i will print that to have on my side while tuning. Great info.

One odd thing my car feels better with the rear higher than the front.
Its not the first time it happened. I usually feel that on Laguna Seca, and i first started tuning this car there, so probably the rest of the setup is right for that height settings.

Once again, thanks for sharing that info 👍

haha ok ok.
RULES REMAIN AS THEY ARE ALEX!!!! :)
i just ranted at a guy over at questions and answers.. insulting my f-ing inteligence!! how dare he!

saying that i should show some intelligence blah blah and how others play there own game offline affects him.. what a douchebag! if i could rant on here with a full blown swaring contest i would like i do on the mic haha

Just ran some laps using MT (first time i've used MT on a racing game) and I managed to bust out a 1:06.686! I know thats not mega mega fast but my fastest time using AT was 1:07.017!

It was a very ragged lap as i'm still getting used to having to shift myself and at what places but once I sort my tune and get alot more used to MT I think I can definitely hit high 1:05's :)

haha.. its over on the what afail thread.. where do people get off thinking there so cool.. Priesty as for MT.. It's definately the way forward

The longer psn is down, the more worried about pace I become :/ I reckon a consistent low 1:07 is the best I'll be able to do...

theres not much point worrying about lap times, its gonna be completely different as soon as everyone pulls away from the grid, and possibly tactics wise, people running 1.05-06's may ruin there tires a little quicker making them more open for mistakes and what not!

Being consitant is the key, altho I just hit my PB I am still busting out 1:10s+ and the occasional 1:11! :yuck:

and as Joshua says your also going to have to consider the tires and looking after them!

Yeah, I suppose I'm worrying too much...

The big thing will be damage I reckon - set to high you accumulate it soo quickly, I was on a shuffle race online driving an Alfa 156, got rear ended at Monza on lap 1 of 4 and my car was bordering on virtually undrivable. In the heat of battle there will be offs, bumps, and spins, which will ruin even the most talented drivers race.

Does anyone know if I can be repaired in race?

And with tyres, as most cars are FF, worn tyres make you brake, turn and accelerate exponentially worse - possibly leading to damage...

deffo think this is gonna be hard to judge until we get in a proper test session online, like i've said before my best laptime round GVE in practice mode is a 1:05.8, but i did a 15 lap one make race with tyre wear, couldn't get below a 1:07 and was running 1:08's from about half race distance. still not entirely happy with the set up though so plenty of time to be gained methinks!

BMW 330i is good for 1:05.7xx on a race pace.. Qualifying setup i havent tried but will be close to the very low 1:05 :)

:scared: Ummm, how?! I've managed a scrappy 1.06.9XX, I reckon if I put together my 3 best sectors I'd get a low 1.06, but that's insane! My race pace is awful too, mid 1.08s from halfway through, then I start creeping towards 1.09s at the end. I can get all the way through on mediums though, which will help me in the first race I hope :)

That's a relief!

No matter how much we try to avoid it there will be contact...

I've had another tinker and I'm the same - 1:07's then into the 1:08's. Haven't tested yet on time trial.

We run heavy damage Clio V6 races all the time... It's really good, damage REALLY effects the race.

I can imagine - even if your not the fastest, if you keep your nose clean then you could stand a chance.

I must say - this being my first online championship, I'm very impressed how open and honest people are with how their progressing, its a very friendly atmosphere. On some of the other threads I've read, people keep their cards very close to their chest.

Yep. Thats a good spirit we have here.

And i can tell you my race strategy for race 2. As my team name says, me and my mate will pit 6 times. :sly:

The most laps i put to test tire wear was online before PSN went down(hurry up Sony :grumpy:) and in 10 laps i was still quick, without loosing more than 0.5 of my best lap. I guess i'll have a go offline in single make race.

Is that not just the BTCC spirit? Haha.

I heard that at Donington teams were offering help and even parts to try get Plato's car out for the last race, sums it up quite nicely actually :) Similar happened with Shedden at Brands too.

I think if I put my name down, I will be one of the guys left trailing at the back!

I did some testing this afternoon, and can hustle a Focus ST round GVE in about 1.08.6XX, then beat that later on with a few good runs in the BMW 135i with a 1.08.2XX..... the Beemer still needs some stuff fitting (diff, uprated clutch, suspension, gearbox) but I can't see me having a competetive enough car, compared to some of the times you guys are posting!!

Do the tyres have to be Racing Meds, or are Racing Hards allowed?
