Are we having the 1st race of the evening with the HP handicap?

If it's only Mikey it won't be as bad I guess.

Last time we had both Red and Canyon starting round 2 with no HP penalty either, which helped them quite a bit too.

I'm not planning to have the first race of the season with any penalties at all, which is a change from the last time we did this. Penalties would then apply from every race from then on, which includes from week to week, and like last time, it will be Top 5 in the championship again who get them for Race 1. Unless you'd all rather see a change and a simplification.

Remember mikey is serving a ban which means no drop score is taken there. So he's basically 3 scores dropped to everyone else's 2. It's a flaw that makes my head hurt trying to determine if it will cause a problem.. I'm thinking that with qualifying proper for Race 1 now, it should level it out rather than automatically putting drivers up the front. At least if they are up the front on speed you can't really blame the system.

This means I have 2 drop scores out of 7 races, while everyone has 2 out of 8?

Instead of having the championship standings dictate the HP reduction for race 1, could we use the previous rounds race 3 result instead?

Right we had a little real draft test, Ian was on lower bhp.
To be fair he not stand a hope in hell in keeping up, you could see him trying.

But I'm a no vote to real draft sorry

But Motegi East also needs testing down to pit stops, how did me and Ian loss about 6 seconds down to a pit stop to canyon?
I know my car went real slow round the turn and then not the normal 12mph bug into the crew but 15mph.

Still over 6 secs lost in the pits, that's the worse I've even seen.
Hoping I've got the replay to see what went on, if not I hope Ian got it.

There was another pit issue when skeng and rolo was on, I followed canyon in the pit and he crashed.
How on earth did that happen I mean 3/4 round the pit bend?

I've crashed too MadBean. Although my tyre were very worn because I was on lap 9. If the tyres are on 8 or worse I'd suggest going into the pits slightly slower, just coast into the pit lane rather than full throttle.

I had a few 15mph pit stops, a couple of 12mph and once I got the red bull stop where it just gradually slows into the pit box.

On the race with real draft I was trying everything to hang on, but it just wasn't going to happen. Someone like Skeng can probably do it, but not the average racer. Also noticed that you couldn't overtake Canyon either. Was there only one overtake in that race, I can't recall any overtaking beyond lap 1???

I kept on braking thinking weak draft was there, so meant alot of the time I was just braking way to early.
Just shows running real would mean closer driving what could end up the race track looking a bit like the m25.

But weak also make drivers want to try and drive bomb.
Then saying that if I won a race and got 30- bhp, would it be worth trying to race in next race?

I think even skeng with a full grid will find the work factor harder.
Lower bhp cars would not lose to much down the staights with real, but the beating would be in the turns.
= lot more work for stewards.

Weak may see the cars pass on the staights, but then the lower bhp car could use it skill to get places back.
Or keep up and wait for the mistake to happen.

On real your need a big mistake to happen to get a place up.
There maybe tracks where real works out better than weak, but I think in the long run real would be a mistake.

Going back to the pit stop.
Where and why Ian did we lose so much time on canyon in the pits.

I'm not around this Thursday night but I think Motegi East maybe a good test to take up.
1: for real and weak draft.
2: look at the pits.

Just as most drivers would of tested and know the track better than going to somewhere ramdon.

I will always go with the majority decision and that seems to be for weak draft .

I just find it way too easy to make a pass with the weak draft , its almost like drs.

Yesterday in the practice race there was no point in defending on the straight and motegi doesnt have that long a straight .

I understand that we want overtaking oppurtunities but we are also creating oppurtunities for a lot of possible incidents.

I just hope everyone realizes that this type of spec racing is give and take . The races dont have to be won in 1 turn , 1 lap .

I predict most of the races will have a lot of sandbagging strategy til the final lap .

I'm looking forward to test night tomorrow. 👍

It'll be great to see more cars on the track and these cars do look the part.

My crash was due to slipstreaming Ian and I dove into the pits.. The computer took over and turned in as per usual but with the extra speed I clipped that bit that sticks out.. As for my pit... An excellent pit where I only slowed to around 25 mph... I'm gonna watch my replay later to see how I did it.. Lol

Oh and to mad.. Ian stayed out for two or three extra laps that race I finished 5 secs in front.. I used the undercut to maximum advantage... Faster tires when Ian was on used tires... But he was pulling me back in by some rate of knots at the end.. So it can work but you need to pull our that gap and have a flawless race

Last nights test was great from my point if view. First race I was 40 odd seconds off the pace second I think I was about 20 and third race it was down to about 10 off the leader.

That's all thanks to @CptMadBean, @Ian_83 & @canyondrifter who took time out to show me the ropes. So big thanks to you guys!

Was averaging around 1.31.3xx at the start of the night and that was down to 1.30.1xx by the end and I can see it improving still by putting into practice what I was shown last night.

Yeah I think my gap was over 6 secs when I can out the pits, I was a little upset and the gap went to about 7 sec.
Then me and Ian started to real you in a bit.

Think in the end I was just over 5 secs behind you, Ian would of been closer.
But still when you go in the pits and do nothing wrong where that time go?

Lap 6 was great you and Ian had a little push round turn 10 and I took you both coming out of it :)
You went in the pits them, you car slowed max for the turn a 17mph.
You then did the 37mph down pit lane and went into the pit crew well.

I pit lap 7 car slowed to 16/17 it was flashing between it, then the 37mph.
And then 15mph crual to pit crew, werid it's normal 12!
But bang the gap between me and you 6 secs :(

Ian pits lap 9, wow his slowest speed round the corner good 22mph!
Then slower up to 37mhp I think, he seemed to almost crash.
But then bang 12 maybe even 11mph to the pit crew.

Ian comes out of pits just behind me, I can't for the life of me see where you made 6 secs up on us?

No worries m8 Ian and Canyon top guys, they brought me in to Btcc.
And there was no way I was the pace with the guys when I joined, still not there some top lvl drivers in this.
Over taking still my biggest down fall area, I let myself get caught out when driver in front makes a mistake.
Then the driver behind gets pass me.

I guess I've seen alot of drivers come and go now, but the more you race with us the more your learn.
In how you need to drive and how they drive.

I've gone from starting in the old Honda cup picking up a few warnings.
To being alot more aggesive driving to being one round banned.
Then back to only 2 warning in Btcc-8 ;)

I would say don't get your hopes up and think your going to win this championship.
Not even I think I stand a hope in hell.

There Skeng maybe the best driver in the championship.
There alway fast Rolo.
Then there Ian and Canyon, I would say Canyon the faster one.
Ian a little more chilled and end up him winning championships lol.

Then there the rest off the pack also fast.
Then lets not forget very fast Mikey ;)

 Am I chilled?
yes Ian your are more chilled than I am... I tend to pick up each track quickly but find my limit fast... You ease into it and generally are faster than me at points during the race.. Tho I am getting better and better at reading the race as it unfolds ... Lets see how we fair ... Battle hard, battle fair, ride the adrenalin rush to victory...

These two are 2 freaking awesome driver and guys.

Skeng and canyon are those kind of drivers all series want in.

Rolo is the cool guy that makes all ticking right and, cap is the one that brings the enthusiasm.

There's a reason btcc works band keeps so!

I agree.. Karsten first let me say thanks for the cool kind words and mate we miss you..find the time to re join us you crazy fool...

Karsten you need to rejoin the series .

I keep thinking about it But Every attempt i gave it so far i only managed to ashame myself, getting warnings or be sent off first turn by someone that wasnt even Warned afterwards...

I might have became a sore loser, not used to such extreme battles or maybe i kept my slowness while all improved themselves. :D in endurance raced noone risks to estreme first lap or race alla the time like in qualy, i might ha ve take a wrong path.

If i wont be late i'll join up tomorrow, i'll see if i can still race middle of the pack and if i'm not top outpaced. Your guys times scared the hell out of me lol

Middle pack the hard place and the Honda cup like this you need that 100% lap all the time.

Then there still be behind you.
If you gamble a move then your risk warnings.
If I make a mistake I report myself to Rolo even posted to him and got no warnings.

Race stewards have there job and will try to make driving fair and keep an open mind to keep us in race.

Ian had a good idea ... We will be running an online public lobby under the name of integra one make series to see if there are any decent drivers who would be interested in joining us.. Hopefully we might find a few more who aren't mobile chicanes or desperate dans...

Thanks Canyon. :)

It would be nice if we could find a couple of fresh drivers for the BTCC, so trying an online lobby is something that I'm willing to do when I have the time.

I'll set the room as per the BTCC specs and title it something like 'Honda Integra RM'. I'll ask people to use the correct car and see where it goes from there really.

I met CptMadBean online, he then raced with Canyon and I before coming here. To be honest we didn't invite him, he just rocked up after listening to us talking about the BTCC and testing the cars. Maybe we can find someone else to bring into the community.

I've got a couple of guys on my friends list who I know are great drivers, but I'm not sure whether or not they have the time, plus I don't know them all that well....still nothing ventured, nothing gained.

We do need some more drivers this season, I'm surprised by the lack of interest but it also seems as though many people have got other plans and life commitments which need to come first.

I blame the ps4 really, got a room open.
But I don't seem to be able to pick the honda for one make race.
So called room Honda integra AM only.

I won't be on that long as need to get sorted for work :(

I don't blame the PS4, it has a lack of great games at the moment and GT6 is still probably the best driving game available on a Playstation. It will get worse over time though.

I'll be online in about 30 minutes.

Probably but I will be trying the online lobby tonight so your more than welcome to join in that

I'll try and join room, but if there's no one left i'll just use the time for finishing up gt300 specs.

I need to race in a pack with you people

Ill be online around 7:10 .

Ill try to make it earlier but just being realistic .

I guess i will catch races 2 and 3
