I'm free pretty much whenever. Name me a day/time. Could be now-ish if you're both about.
I'd rather do it tommorow, watching Human Traffic and about to go to bed as I've got to be up at stupid o'clock

What is there to cut in that final chicane except the concrete on the outside? Or is that what you mean?

There are a few spots = Turn 6/7 complex & Final chicane... I doubt I'll use it much, BUT, if I need to, would it permissible to pass there?

Guys, finally I'm here :)

Sorry for being not present in last races, I know KK missed my Safety Car novels :P

and for who knows Skyrim:

"I used to be a driver like you, but then I took a Vectra in the knee" :D

So, uhm, haven't heard anything about penalties.. Have the other stewards (without me) made a desicion?

Can I suggest an improvement to the penalty system for Season 3?

Right now, basically it's the case that 1 Warning = 1 Penalty Point, because 3 Warnings = 3 Penalty Points. 6 PPs is a race ban, and 12 is a series exclusion at present. That means a driver can break the rules 6 times before any kind of serious punishment is handed out.

I think it would be better if 1 Warning was worth 2 Penalty Points - that way, drivers would only be allowed 3 infractions before a race ban.

Maybe that would go some way towards improving driving standards.

Yeah that works.

I think it should depend on severity and "selfpenalizing", e.g. a little tap that causes someone to leave the road could be 2 PP, but if you wait for the driver to rejoin (in front of you) it would be only 1. A dive-bomb-other-cars-off would be e.g. 4 PP with no chance of a "softer" penalty. And the same about cutting corners, it should depend on severity and of course on how many times it's done. Say 3rd time you cause someone to leave the track and not waiting for him/her it'll be double PP. Does that sound fair?

Would take a ridiculous amount of time to study the replay, and the inconsistencies race-to-race could be massive. The current system works, it could just be made a bit more strict.

I don't see the point in "self-penalising" (e.g. your self-imposed 10 second stop-go penalty)... take the post-race time penalty, you'll lose less.

I don't think it would take THAT much more time. We're looking through the replay to see the incidents anyway, so the 5 seconds it would take to wait and see if the "pusher" (no pun intended) is waiting wouldn't mean anything for the time used. Just my 2 cents

OK, let's take two situations in the same race. Both times the guy who did the pushing waits.

In scenario one, the driver who is pushed ends up with all four wheels on the grass on the outside of the corner, but gets back on having only lost say 4 or 5 seconds.

In scenario two, the push is much harder and the driver ends up in the gravel and loses more like 15 seconds.

In both cases the driver at fault waits. But are the two incidents still worth the same number of penalty points?

It moves too far into subjectivity, in my opinion.

I personally believe the current system is fine - it just needs tightening up to discourage bad driving and deliver a more effective punishment for it. Besides, stewarding takes long enough as it is.

I get your point Rolo. But what I was trying to say was we shouldn't just say "you pushed someone so you'll get 2 PP". The thinking was small taps should be given a small penalty, and if you wait for the driver to rejoin (ofc this means you'd need to know) then it'll be a lighter penalty. A little like if you admit a crime.

Yeah I suppose.

It might be tricky to enforce and to come up with criteria, but I guess the other stewards will be the best people to talk about it.

well for example. (sorry to call ya out but its the only example I know of)

In indy when rolo overshot into joe, rolo waited for him. Therefore he only picked up a warning. Had he not waited he would have picked up a time penalty also. I think this system is fine.

Yup, I like HSR 👍

I've made a Social Group for the series, where hopefully important updates can be seen by all. Check it out :)

Check the S3 thread too :)

If you can keep putting the Penalty points onto the standings, then I believe this is great :D:tup:

WI-FIVE mate :D

Race 2 Stewarding:
Gedi69 +10seconds for pitting outside the pit window
SKD Warning (Lap 1+2 Under use of brakes hitting other drivers)
Geeky30 Warning (Hitting Rolo, not enough space)
Gedi69 + KillaKandy Warning (Cutting the corner on lap 4 & not enough room given to each driver)

KillaKandy will give you the Race 1 & we can show the results then.
