Don't worry, we've all been there :indiff:

Sorry for tapping you under the bridge but I didn't have anywhere to go

You drove well from what I saw :)

Quite manic tonight, overtaking Cunny with 2 wheels on the grass in race 1, then getting a bit sideways while in the lead in the middle of race 2... nearly pooed myself

Thanks rob

Sorry kk!! I'm new to the series and I selected join track and since my focus runs a limiter it had hopped its self up to 307bhp, and wouldn't let me join until I changed it. By the time I did u where racing! I apologise

So, basically, is it true Rob that you're not racing any more after today
I should clear this up... in race 1 there were a couple of silly incidents which sort of did it for me, this season in general has been pretty frustrating with too many incidents that have ruined good results :indiff: But I've given it a chance and haven't left straight away like one or two others have done

In any case I'll have to miss SSR5 anyway, so I'll give it a while to think about it... this is no reflection on Geeky or anyone else in particular, but there seems to be complaints after almost every race

Looking forward to seeing the race results as they'll probably be a lot different to what was on screen :nervous:

Well it's still a new series, so it's almost bound to not run totally smoothly all the time. The racing is good, though. I personally think if it's given time things will turn out well, and we will have a good solid racing series.

i think that if we actually start at the right time there's no problems... we always start 15-20 mins later :P

and i'm always around 30 mins earlier to be safe... annoying i would say :P

I understand that fully, 👍

Would we like Races to Start bang on 7:00BST?

ok time for major reforms in this series.

Safety Car Procedure
Race Behaviour
Pit In/Out
Penalty System
Grid Line-Up

Post will be up shortly with major updates for the good of this series.
just speechless after watching the race replay.

Safety car seems to be fine, what were you thinking of changing about it?

Race behaviour can be a bit annoying with giant elbows but I have not seen anything too major (contact me if you have seens this)

Pit in/out, we have the pit window and I haven't seen anything happen involving the pits.

Penalties, Me & the stewards investigate as much as we can but can't do everything. We try to be flexable so if anything is accidental then you don't get penalised for a mistake.

The grid can get confusing, but we are getting use to it :)
In Race Two I set it to "reversve grid to previous race" and the restart caused confusion but still great raceing 👍

When it comes to the grid, all the drivers REALLY need to read the line-up in this thread before racing and remember where they go.

A stronger penalty system should hopefully remove some of the dive-bombing/questionable driving.

Geeky what do you think to my proposal to use S3 cars in S2 races?

rabbit/Speedster7 has joined the ICS plc team as third driver. :)

thinking about penalties, the BTCC has a points on your licence system... so how about penalty points? 12 points and you get a race ban?

That's not a bad idea rolo :)

Hi guys,

was a great race, I'm sorry for R2 'cause I was in points zone, but whatever...

I agree with Kar, respecting correctin' times and I think stricter rules could be better to manage the whole thing.

BTW yesterday was a fun race, as Safety Car (:P) I made I think a good R1

Start the anarchy

1. Safety car isnt fine mate. Deep Forest Raceway was a nightmare. People are getting confused as to when it is restarting. Rally is doing an awesome job but the first placed driver needs to know the procedure. As with everyone.

2. Are you serious mate? Nothing to major?

3. We must follow the pit out lanes. Why take anything away from the realism? Also its pretty darn dangerous when you are travelling 130mph and a car rolls out at 80mph and you have to swerve around them.

4. Im sure it is all investigated but to what avail? Everything cant be a mistake, even if it is a mistake you surely have to wait for the driver you crashed into right? Mistakes is a touchy topic. Anyone can just claim mistake if they overshoot their brakes and run into a car sending them into the gravel.

5. As rolo said, everyone should be reading the grid line-up beforehand. And when the line-up is in progress people need to stay alert and look out for their names. And also stay in pits.

Also does sc61jgw have an account on GTPlanet? How on earth is he allowed to race? He has no information to OP whatsoever and has never even heard of the OLR yet alone read it.

I've said this before but it'd be far better if there wasn't a safety car at all, I'd rather be racing Morten instead

I thought he had an account, but a quick search of the members list revealed nothing

I do post hem and print them out.

I understand that 👍

Season 3 cars can be used, but will gain no points by doing so

Awesome, I will sort that later

Point 3 I think we should investigate next rounds, as I haven't seen the replay yer I can't see how urgent it is, but if it is a danger then we should investigate.

Point 4, I know what you mean and we do try to promot drivers to wait

Sc61jgw does not have a GTplanet account, he was a good friend and the only supporter when I did my racing back in secondary school.

I've said this before but it'd be far better if there wasn't a safety car at all, I'd rather be racing Morten instead

I thought he had an account, but a quick search of the members list revealed nothing

Most drivers wanted the Safety Car system introduced, so I let them have it.

No he doesn't

Well if anyone wants to take the SC role I'd be glad to return to competition. The test race yesterday.. *realises I just mature-stuffed* :D

Long Post but PLEASE READ

Safety Car:

1: Static position
When the Safety Car (SC) is static, it is parked around the end of turn 1.

2: When deploying

The SC will announce it's deployment by posting "SC", "sc in" or similar in the text chat.
It will deploy when: 3 or more cars are considered dangerous (slow, spinning, static) or 3 or more drivers request it. Any SC will have the reason investigated. Abuse of the SC can result in disqualification and a 1-week-no-replacement ban, depending on situation and severity.
When on the track, the SC will wait for the cars around turn 1.
When the message is displayed, the positions may no longer change and overtaking is forbidden. Only exception is if the car is a lap behind.

3: Behind the SC

You may at no point overtake the SC. Anyone doing so will risk disqualification.
The SC will try to keep a speed of about 50 mph/80 kmh, faster or slower depending on track and situation.
When catches up to the SC row, the no overtaking rule and it's exception is still at play.

4: When SC is leaving

The SC will, in time, heavily accelerate. This means it will be leaving the track that lap. The no overtaking is now completely enforced without exceptions.
At this point the leader takes the role of SC and may Drider the speed. Still no overtaking. When everyone has crossed the last corner of the track. the first placed driver may restart the race at any time. PLEASE BE ALERT AND STAY AWAKE

Race Behaviour:

Strictly no bumping overs of track. This is touring cars so grinding and rubbing is permitted but there is a limit to how aggressive you can be. I have seen nothing like this series in turn 1. Some drivers seem to think the race is won or lost in turn 1. When approaching turn 1 drivers seem to think that going 4 wide here is acceptable, If you are on the inside then surely common sense tells us that we have to go slightly slower to make the corner otherwise you will run wide thus taking everyone on our outside with us.

Dive-Bombing up the inside is a bog problem. Drivers are braking 10-15 meters later than usual and are just forcing their way up inside and are using the other car to help turn in. When you are too far behind just try again later. Race is long enough. You dont have to go for it then and there. Its just ridiculous. Also when racing in a group with other drivers in front of you. Surely you must brake earlier in order to prevent crashing into them and sending the other car into the barriers. THIS IS JUST COMMON SENSE.

Grid Line-up

Everyone must read the post explaining grid line-up before turning up to the race. You must be aware of where you are starting. At around 7pm geeky will start regs check. First FR and 4WD enter track first followed by all FF cars. Once on track you MUST STAY IN PITS. when everyone is in pits geeky will call out the grid. When your name appears in the chat box the pole car goes ahead and lines up just before turn 1. Then the second placed driver lines up behind pole and so forth. It is not hard at all. When lined up DO NOT DRIVE. Also PLEASE STAY AWAKE AND DON'T GO ANYWHERE WHEN REGS ARE STARTING. Also typing is strictly prohibited once regs check and line-up is in procession.

When everyone has successfully lined up, geeky will start race. Any confusions please let me know.

Most importantly PENALTY SYSTEM

The accidents and crashes in this series have gone beyond a joke. We've gone sooo far in fact that we pretty much have hit downright brain dead.

Accidentally cutting or hitting other drivers and overtaking = give the position back

Cutting an chicane or abusing track limits = a warning

Repeatedly cutting or abusing tracks limits= 5second penalty each time after 2nd warning warning.

Abusing the weight or the Hp = Disqualification

Offensive driving and purposely hitting other drivers = 10 second penalty. It
may vary depending on the situation

Dive-Bombing and crashing into other car=10 second penalty

Overshooting brakes and sending other car off= 10 second penalty

Proposed Penalty System inspired by rolo.

Repeatedly cutting or abusing tracks limits= 2 points
driving and purposely hitting other drivers = 4 points
(Doing this twice in the whole series) Dive-Bombing and crashing into other car = 3 points
(Doing this twice in the whole series) Overshooting brakes and sending other car off= 3 points.

6 points and you are banned for a race

We are going for a british motoring approach so 12 points and your out permanently.

DONT THINK I WONT FOLLOW THIS. All accidents in monza will be forgiven. Now though that I've clearly outlined everything. actions will be punished.

Sorry if I sound harsh but I am doing whats best for the BTCCOCC. jb, paul, rob, furinkazen have all left in the past because of the race behaviour. If we carry on like this then I fear others will be following them. If things dont improve then I will show myself the door also.

All say 'Aye' if penalty system is agreed.

Just going through the replays,

I say aye, but I would like to see what other drivers think as well.

Oh woops. Just typed this after watching the arsenal game and well that P'ed me off even more.

So is it just the points, and from the complaints I got I what I would have done

Karsten, no action

Sc61jgw - 20 seconds for illegal pole

Killa_kandy- 5 seconds takne of both races for pitting outside the pit window (lap 4 Window was lap 5-7)

Fair? Or do we want to change?

I pitted begining lap 5. Is it supposed to be end of lap 5 till the end of 7? My bad.

A miss understanding,
Just to be fair, as I have gained an advantage from pitting a lap earlier than some 👍
Still get the penalty :sly:

Points thing or time penalty?

RobFocus
He means, how should he punish the offenders... by a points deduction or a time penalty added to the race result

Oh um. I'd say a 5 second time penalty. And a warning. 3 warnings of any kind and a further 10 second penalty with 2 points.
