Free choice, as you guys propose it, might mean my testing work was essentially pointless if only 3 of the cars get used, say. I think if there were to be free choice I'd prefer it more structured (i.e. 8 teams, 2 drivers). That does have the potential for arguments though.

8 teams with 2 drivers seem fair enough. At least only 2 drivers racing, I think it's fair enough if all teams have a backup driver :)

Edit: had a thought:
2 drivers + reserve driver in each team. The reserve driver will not race unless one from the team is missing!
Max. 4 drivers per car, teams having priority over independents/single car teams, S1/S2 drivers over newcomers. How about that?

It sounds like a good plan. I'll support free choice if it's made a rule that all 8 cars are represented somewhere.

I'm sure something can be figured out about that. And we've already made a valuable experience for S4! To find max 6 cars

How's the votes holding up rolo?

Anyone got the BMW they want to trade or dupe me?

How's the votes holding up rolo?

Current status of the vote:

Code:
[B][SIZE="3"]Free Choice             - 3
Shootout - 2
Reverse Points-Per-Race - 1[/SIZE][/B]

So is the voting finnished now? And when do we pick our cars for next season?

Voting finishes this Wednesday at 12pm BST. The wheels will be set in motion then, depending on what method wins.

I still argue that if free choice wins then all the cars should be represented, otherwise I wasted my time adding to the field by testing, frankly.

But how can you get all 8 cars in but have free choice. It's not going to work because people will still be forced to have a car that they dislike.

OK, if free choice wins, shall we have a cap of 4 cars per manufacturer? It's probably the best compromise between the two methods. Allows more drivers to run their favourite machines, whilst also allowing a reasonable manufacturer spread. I doubt there will be just four cars in S3.

I've spoken to both johnboy and gedi and this seems to me to be the best combination of their opinions.

Once Wednesday at 12pm comes it'll be time to decide S3 cars and teams, so it will be good to know how this works.

Glad to be of assistance :)

Why don't people put on thread a rough Idea of what cars they would like, that way you can get an idea of what's going to happen on Wednesday.

I'm liking:

BMW
Focus

As number 3 will stand in and drive whatever toads decide but S4 and Focus here not tried much else. Golf a deffo no no.:yuck:

BMW and S4 for me 👍. However, i would pick a car that is less mainstream to add variety if everyone picks those 2 cars :P

^^ I like that one. My decision will come down between the BMW (unless it's taken as quickly as it seems,) the Clio, and the SEAT.

Currently the preferences look like this:

Ford 5
Audi 3
BMW 3
Renault 2
Mazda 2
Honda 2
SEAT 1

So actually, a fairly even spread thus far out of those who've come forward. Doesn't seem too bad.

Bear in mind picks are 'first come first served.' Once a manufacturer has 4 entries there can be no more.

That makes things look better. :)

That's that problem solved 7/8 cars can't be bad.

And also you car entries open 12 midday Wednesday, do we post or pm our entries?

Post your entries in this thread, using the following format:

GTP_name / PSN_name / Car / Team

Obviously if you've got team-mates already, let me know.

------

I'll reserve a space for Geeky + team-mate (probably sc61jgw) for whatever car they want to run. It is his series, after all.... so be prepared to be shoved out of a car if Geeky wants it. I've PM'ed him to ask what he wants. Hopefully he'll get back to me before sign-ups open.

Can we try to fill up teams before asking for independent entries too, if possible. Teams can have 3rd drivers but they can't race unless a space becomes available in the team.
