I like the car selection a lot. You should post up pictures of what the in game cars should look like.

this is the first look of the BTCC 2012 cars we will be racing

Dont they look good :dopey:👍

First of all nice idea! and a few things i thought about;

i would be interested in trying the cars along with you guys in a few "test" races... i don't think i'm good enough to compete yet :D also test races can help evening the floor from car to car...

have any of you considered introducing slight penalties to 4x4 and FR cars to balance things out? In my experiences in such championships formats, all the people end picking up the same cars :D

Also why keeping the choiches so small? i mean. the alfa 156, honda accord and many others seems to be likely candidates and are "historical" granturismo racers...

It would be uber-cool to have teams of 2 players ( for example 1 skilled- one newbie) for team championship along the usual drivers championship. That would make teamwork essential and fun expecially if the 2 in the same team have to use the same car (i.e. setup exchanging and such)

oh, also please add me to your friends on psn!

oh another thing to add... the track selection seems poor to me... no offense meant :P

They seem total carnage tracks in which you overtake by hitting the car on the inside of the turn...

The cars look good 👍

The thing about including 'historic' cars is that if we were to draw up a list then we'd be doing it all day because most makes and models have been represented in the BTCC at some point. Maybe it's something we could try in a future season but for now I think it's simpler to base the car choice on a particular season, 2012 in this case. We've still got 6 different manufacturers which equals about 2.7 cars per manufacturer. :D A few days ago I did some rough testing, tuned the cars to the regulations and they were all within a couple of PP of each other and their performance was pretty equal.

I like the teams idea though, if/when there's a sign-up thread in the main section then that'll become clear.

Geeky, will the races be held in your lounge?

I was unable to add the S3, but I will get round to it.

The Alfa and the Honda Accord are great cars for the championship and will be added
The tracks can be changed if this is a real problem to drivers

Dont worry I will get round to the historics ;)
I was hoping someone wanted teams as well as I think it makes it more of a team effort :)

And yes, all races will be raced in my lounge

if you're around in a couple of hours we can have a few test races... :)

Tracks look fine in my opinion. London might be a bit contact heavy but we'l see on Friday.

Cool like I said, Firday will have the test races ;)
Good to see that people are interested :D

I'm starting some "test runs" on trial mountain... In short i take a car, up it to about 300hp, lower its weight up to 1000kg, disable all aid and run a long serie of laps on racing hard tires. A couple lap, tune, laps tune.. etc

Yesterday i run an alfa 156 run;
best time (in a lap very risky) 1:35.728
a good lap would be in around 1:36.200
this after i tuned the car... else it's AWFULLY slower (not that i'm a great tuner :P)

car is 299hp and 1078kgs

if any of you guys cares to do the same, it would help us balancing out the cars and giving an idea of lap times and race lenghts.

BTW i chose trial mountain because it has a fairly long straight, various sweeping turn and all kind of bumps :D

BTW how awful woul that time be?

Furinkazen just looked at your championship and one or two are the same, good minds think alike ;)

and azidahaka I know some of the cars dont reach 300hp or 1000kg, but when I tested them (the video) the was all in or near 1:25 seconds around Autumn ring, so they are simular but we will all work something out :)

And to EVERYONE, if you have not sent a friend request for tomorrow, PLEASE DO!!! or you wont be able to join. :scared:

Other than that, happy racing all :D

I'm afraid that these events might be a little too long for me.. I have about 45 minutes to use on gaming these days, and if we're gonna have qualifying and 2 races the same day, I'd stand out and leave a space to others rather than meeting up for half a race :( But if we could find out to make it a 2-day event I'd be more than happy to race, it could be fun to do!

I don't have any of the cars yet, so is there a particular Premium you'd like me to turn up in tomorrow?

btw if we could start 15-20 minutes later the races it would be perfect for me... taking a shower after work is a must :D

Let's go back to the cars analysis...

alfa 156
best time (in a lap very risky) 1:35.728
a good lap would be in around 1:36.200
this after i tuned the car... else it's AWFULLY slower (not that i'm a great tuner :P)

car is 299hp and 1078kgs

My thoughts:
i espected the car to be much better... it has some potential but needs accurate tuning.

Accord EURO-R '00

best time 1:35.239
298CV 1107kgs

Used turbo upgrade lv1.

My thoughts:
This car feels fast and easy to tune, has much potential but won't underperform even untuned. A lil slow warming tires up on my setup.

Volvo S60 t-5

best time 1:34.372
295CV 1261kgs

Used turbo upgrade lv1.

My thoughts:
This car feels fis a great surprise... it weights a ton, has a tune at 295CV and when you drive it, it's very unspectacular. But its times are great!

Civic Typer-R '08

best time 1:33.587
300V 1051kgs

My thoughts:
This car is shockingly good, has all aero parts, and i got that time with very little tune. Slides fast in and outside turns. Can easily get a 1:32 for i had such a time before binning it o a wall :D

BMW 137i '07

best time 1:34.287
300CV 1264kgs

NO ENGINE TUNES ALLOWED.. it's already 300CV

My thoughts:
This is the first FR cars i brought around the track. This car feels is naturally fast, the time came easily and without almost any tune. Also feels a winner for the Monza run ;)

Opel/wauxall Vectra 3,2 V6 '03

best time NO TIME
296CV 1228kgs

My thoughts:
This car is a dog. I really have no clue on how to tune it properly as it shows all kinds of bad behaviour i placed no time because i can't get anything good from it.... I'll give it another try later today.

So far the winner seems to be....

Honda Civic Type-r.
Seems damn too fast an greatly better than al other cars. Might have to be balanced out in time... races will tell.

I'll try to fix the Alfa and Vectra and re-post my impressions and times. Then i'll move out to other cars.

What if we plan 3x10 minute races and have qualifying at the start 15minutes (roughly)? Would people be happy with this?

And I must say its good to see people using all different cars :D
