What if we plan 3x10 minute races and have qualifying at the start 15minutes (roughly)? Would people be happy with this?

And I must say its good to see people using all different cars :D

I would be happy with that, either this or 2 15minute races.

So when do we start the season? And what cars are not used by anyone yet?

I will use the Honda Civic
Cosworth has used the Ford Focus alot
Karsten has used the Alfa and Volvo

Other than that I believe their is a big range to choose from ;)

I think I need some time to really look at my cars and find the one I'll use 👍

At what time of day does it look like we'll be racing? My "perfect" range is from about 17:30 British Summer Time to about 1 hour later

Disconnected twice... sorry guys. :ouch: I'll have to move the PS3 to the other room where I'm guaranteed a decent connection.

Good little battle though, as I remember I got a bit excited on the last lap and got 4 wheels on the grass so I deliberately swung wide for the next corner to make up for it, although something slightly similar happened earlier so they sort of cancel each other out. Too polite? :lol:

The Focus felt a little quicker than the Civic although the Focus has a few days of tuning behind it.

The Golf and Focus feel close.

The BMW is the fastest but it doesn't suit me.

Not sure how the standard cars stack up.

Races should be near 7:00/7:30BST to 8:00/8:30BST but we can change if it doesnt suit some people.

And thats hat I like about the BMW, its fast but no likes it, what do you? ;)

That BMW is a dream to drive.

I think the series would be better run on something like sports mediums or softs. There's just too much grip on the Racing Hards.

A DREAM TO DRIVE!? :scared:

but yeah I agree there is alot of grip and if people agree, sports softs sounds good? :)

sports soft? the alfa, and the opel would get even worse :D

i think the only off scale car is the bmw... it laps 3-4 seconds faster than the other cars...

i have yet to choose a car, also i can't find a 406 in the market no matter what :D

maybe some Hp penalization could help out, like cars with turbo -10hps, FR and 4x4 cars -20hp...

i think that to balance things we need a few more races with more people showing off ;) just 3 people are too few to test various cars togheter...

also if we get up to 10 people we can play with the Team championship too...

BTW at the moment i'm considering racing with the Accord-R '00 or volvo... even tought the Civic is quite fast indeed too... let's say i have no clue what to choose :D

I like the Hp penalizatio system :)

And I was hoping to do a team Championship as well :)

Might be an idea to have a vote on tyre choice.

Personally I think that using the power limiter is a better idea to equalise the cars.

With a few more people involved, this could be epic. 👍

thats annoying :grumpy:

and any recommendations on limiting the power?

FR+turbo - -10hp?
4WD - -20hp?

difficult to say... making lots of test races can help... also choosing a track and doing quick laps can help the balancing...

like lapping at 2-3 tracks with different features... autumn ring is a 100% twisty grip track, monza is a fast sweeping and flat... ecc ecc.

if you guys are in the mood i can get online later and we can keep running test and exchanging our lap times.

I think that as we found in a test race, it was hard to overtake, yet we was all simular.
wouldnt the reverse grid equal them?

very interesting idea to try... i think that reverse grid + power penalties to the podium winners can be the way to go

Reverse grid is a good idea and easy to do from the race options, not keen on the podium power penalties though, I think a reverse grid is enough.

The tyre choice is your call, although Sports Softs throw in a bit of extra challenge so I like that idea.
FR+turbo - -10hp?
4WD - -20hp?
So that would mean...

Alfa = 300bhp
Audi S3 = 270bhp (4x4+turbo)
135i = 290bhp (FR)
Focus = 290bhp (turbo)
Accord = 300bhp
Civic = 300bhp
Evo IV = 270bhp (4x4+turbo)
406 Coupe = 300bhp
Vectra = 300bhp
Golf = 290bhp (turbo)
Volvo = 300bhp

...I think??? Sounds fair.

along with geeky we made a lot of test races 1vs1 recording best lap times...

vectra best 1.24.2
golf 1.24.x
volvo 1.23.8
focus1.24.1
alfa 1.25.7
civic 1.24.8
accord 1.24.1
all these at 300hp

bmw 1.22.9 dirty lap at 280hp
bmw 1.23.3 lap at 250hp

in short our test the cars were almost all even, with 2 notable ecceptions, the bmw and the alfa one way too fast even with -50hp and the other just slow in all ways :P

so just 2 problematic cars.

concerning the other cars, we didn't test lancer, and 406 (can't find it anywhere in the shop...).

all in all so far it seems quite even and funny, the vectra made a great leap after being tuned and so almost all other cars will do.

Your ecountering the same problem another touring car series did. (They ended banning the 135i) So my suggestion bin the 135i and use the 330i.

BMW 330i '05?

Sounds like a better bet as it's not quite as quick as the 135i and it's much closer to the BTCC car.

So it'll still be 290bhp.

Cheers for putting my quick calculations in the first post. :)

guys check your sellers or the 330i and the 406 please! if you see them around BUY BUY BUY!

it's really a mess to cicle the market and they never showed up on my game in weeks...

concerning the turbo penalty i thik it should be dropped for it makes mostly no difference as long as turbo lv1 is the only one allowed.

as a last thing, new cars at the dealer will start to gain hps while you run them...
what shall we do about this?
