Got my ride and a time to submit, felt guilty buying RH tyres though until I saw that it seems par for the course!

I saw in the rules that you must use Manual transmission, but I wanted to request a waiver on this (temporarily...) since:

• I think its a disadvantage to use Auto
• I don't even know what buttons are mapped for the gear changes
• I'm using a DS3, another disadvantage in itself. It also means its 2 more buttons for my thumbs to use....
• It hardly seems worth learning all of the above now, just before (fingers crossed) I can use my wheel!

I can give it a go tomorrow maybe if need be, so long as I still have fun with the challenge rather than just end up throwing the controller across the room! I'm finding the same with FIFA 12 at the moment, there are so many bloody controls that I just end up mashing the buttons and hoping something good comes from it.

Have a go at manual gears if you can, you might be surprised (I was) but once you have driven a car for a few laps on manual you get to a point where you can tell from the engine sound when to change up, and it is definitely faster.

I have to have them mapped to L1/R1 or L2/R2 though, it would take me a while to get used to them somewhere else. My controls are proper old-school, X for go and square for stop. None of this "modern" analogue-stick business for me!

I think the majority of us use the DS3. I use the DS3.

Check your controls in the options section. You have a week in for every round to fine-tune your car and controls, after all. The driving options rules will stick.

It's time to announce the next round.

Saloon cars are frequently used as family cars, which means they can expect to be used just about anywhere.

To prove your cars can handle whatever climate a typical family owner can throw at it, you will now go to Chamonix West and drive on the snow course to see how good a lap time you can get.

For the Founder's Jackpot this week, we will not only see who best matches my time, but also who best matches the highest speed I can attain during a lap. Post the fastest speeds you can manage along with your times when you email me them. If you want to show me in a screencap, remember that you can use a Replay to check your highest speed.

Wow…Thank god I got wise and stuck with my first choice in the end *phew* And thank god I noted down how much all my entries cost, or I'd have been screwed waiting for another Evo to pop up
