Bugatti thread.

I was really hoping for some more classical Bugatti. Anything more than just one would have been great. I understand that the Veyron has been there praise-worthy car, but what about some more history. Speaking of history, did anyone see the 1900's era Ford Model T that we have seen before?

I'll just chip in with something I've thought of, apologies if its been repeated.

Top Gear spent ages trying to get Bugatti to let them run the Veyron around the track. It was probably the hardest of everything to convince them to give the car a Premium work-over. I bet due to Bugatti's nature the Standard car won't even scratch.

In time, it will come. Just as soon as something more powerful is on the market I guess.

forza did it :indiff:

I think even then they had to get someone elses Veyron (when going round the track some people picked up what looked like dents).

Bit annoying that the Veyron isn't a Premium but I drive outside the car most of the time so it doesn't bother me too much.

I would have like a Veyron SS but wasn't expecting it unless there will be any DLC or if it is included in GT6.

Mind you NFS Shift has the Veyron able to be damaged and interior views.

Personally, I believe it is good because now we have a car to which all cars can be compared. It is the fastest production car, so it gives us a great chance to test all of the others cars against it. From there, you can make adjustments. Let it be the constant in this experiment of vehicular madness!

Yea even though thats true there are quite a few cars that will kill this thing in the turns. (Zonda R) Need i say more?

Crazy idea, fellow Bugatti friends...

It is really fishy that some popular yet high performance cars are missing...
I smell that the Veyron Super Sport (and Koenigsegg CCX) are cars to be won during special events... and if so, they would be detailed as a premium but not purchasable.

Just a hunch

I really wish i could enjoy playing exterior views, but i just cannot... i guess i am getting old :indiff:

IF it really is standard (I dont think so, just to spoil not everything and let the people some surprises they call it S^^) I'd say, its because of that Bugatti Veyron is one of, when not THE most exclusive car in the world, maybe Bugatti themselves said to PD that they are able to model the outside but the inside is restricted for those guys who got the money to buy one, so they dont want to spoiler the car.. to keep a bit of a mysterium around the car and to keep the attention of potential owners... just a thought... anyway, the game will **** my life :dunce:

PS: pls dont spent too much attention on my spelling, tried my best^^

Guys, maybe the bugatti is a standard car because it doesn't have full body deformation (damage), but only scuffs and scrathes. So maybe it has a cockpit view but is being labeled as a standard car.

You never know how the folks at bugatti may respond to a game that wants to damage their landmark car.

Someone mentioned the Veyron on FM3 on Silverstone being pretty good so I went and looked to see what I could find on the leader boards. Looking at my friends list one of the best drivers is indeed driving the Veyron modifed up to the top of the next class (R3) and has posted his best lap in it.

That said I have 2 other friends who are not as good as this guy and they drove the FXX and toasted his lap times. My brother who is not nearly as fast on this track as any of these guys also toasted him whith the #16 Mazda reduced to the R3 class. The fastest friend I have drove the Mosler and absolutely destroyed the Veyron.

In short even the best drivers struggle to get a good lap time on road course with this car and most people can take a car that is 50-100mph slower and beat the time they could post in this car on most courses.

Damage is irrelevant imo, they allow forza and NFS to damage it. GT5 should be no different in that respect.

Thats because a lot of racing games just plug in "numbers" of a car and get the physics engine to take care of it.

Unfourtunately most physics engines in racing games are too linear to be life like IMO, and the buggati Weighs a lot so it doesn't come out too well in the games calculation when it comes to momentum and chaging direction in a hurry.

Real life is, well umm real lol, so its not as simple as this. They veyron has exceptional grip and can corner well.

So the Veyron would do a lot better in real life compared to how its represented in a lot of sims.

We'll see how it does in GT5, they have pretty good non linear condition dependant tyre physics.

Good point. A lot of cars in Forza do not behave as though they would irl. I will surely try it out in GT5 especially if it is a prize car or can be driven in arcade mode. If I have to pay credits for it then it will likely be quite a while as there are many other cars higher on my most wanted list at the moment :)

Wow - I really can't believe that the Bugatti Veyron is a Standard model! Who made that inane decision?!?

"Let's take the world's fastest and most expensive car and not give it a cockpit view, so players can't experience what it feels like to drive one!"

I was really, really excited to play GT5 just to get behind the wheel of the Bugatti Veyron and drive from the cockpit view - in the rain, but I guess PD spent the time they had alotted for modeling the Veyron cockpit, to model the WWII VW Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen instead.

Thanks so much PD. :grumpy:

I'd rather see a EB110 in GT5. Because the Veyron is the ugliest supercar in the world and the T35 is too old for my liking.
So what now?

I prefer the EB110 over the Veyron. It's one of those supercars that my mates never knew existed, but I did. I just think it looks cool and i'd really like to see it in GT5 :)

erm i havent followed this thread but how do we know the bugati is standard? has there been gameplay that shows theres no insideview? or anyone from sony/pd that states it?

It's listed as standard in the official car list, provided by Sony on their official website.

Here's an illustration of the Veyron's engine:

Looks awesome doesn't it? It's a shame such a car is a standard. :indiff:
