Buying cars is still tedious in GT6

Hello all,

One thing that has bothered me since GT5 is trying to buy all the a lot of cars in a timely fashion.

In GT5 before you know it, you have 20 million credits, so you just want to bulk buy cars, but instead you can't. You have you have to buy one at a time and after each purchase you have to watch the little purchase scene then go back to the menu.

Doing that 200 times, is really really tedious. I noticed in GT6 it's the same afair.

Why don't they treat it in a modern way buy adding a shopping cart so you can just add the cars you want to your cart, then when you are done you check it all out and you're good to go and race them, do what ever etc.

Anyone else think this could be a nifty little feature to improve quality of life things in the game?

EDIT: Changed to A lot instead of all ;)

I never found it to be an inconvenience. I'm certainly in favor of your idea, but I like to buy a car, tune it, test it, time attack it, tune and test some more, then move on to the next new car. I did that for every car in my garage in GT5.

In fairness, getting the cash to buy 200 cars in one go or getting to 20 million took quite a while in the original GT5. It was only after the later patches and the Seasonals that it got quicker with larger payouts.

I think some of you are missing the point. It's not that everyone needs the ability to buy 20 cars at the same time. It's the fact that we have to watch a ridiculous purchase celebration cinematic scene after you buy the car. I can't speak for GT6 yet, but when you click buy in GT5, you have to wait about 50 seconds until you're returned to the main menu. All wasted time as you watch your car driven up to the front of the screen to the celebration music.

That's absolutely ridiculous. I did a calculation for GT5 recently and with my 1200+ cars I've bought in GT5 I've wasted about 10 hours in those celebration screens. Absolutely inexcusable. If people want to watch that screen, then fine, at least give the option to disable it for those of us who just want to buy a damn car without some unnecessary minute long, unskippable celebration. Just give me my damn car, please.

Now to the issue of buying more than one car at once, it's just amplified. Not only do you have to watch that celebration for each car, you're returned to the main menu, so you have to go to the dealership, find the brand and then find the car you want. If you want to buy two cars in the same dealership it's ridiculous that you have to return to the exact same place you just were rather than being returned to it in the first place.

Some may think this is a small issue but it really isn't in a game with more than 1,000 cars. The amount of time wasted after buying cars is too damn high.

Having heard what you said, I wouldn't buy 200 cars in one go.

But if I could buy 2-3 cars for testing without having to watch the purchase scene, would be pretty cool. I enjoyed that in Forza, buy it, done. Go race.

Hate to break it to you, it's GT not Forza.. you want Forza then go play it.

I have noticed that the 'celebration animation' is slightly shorter than it used to be in GT5. I personally don't feel the need to buy a lot of cars in one go, but a 'shopping cart' would be a nice 'elegant' way of implementing the option to bulk buy cars, or maybe even other items (tuning parts etc.).

Not sure why you're being so aggressive towards a example I was making.

If the games industry had your mentality not many games would evolve/share features to make games more interesting or better to play.

Why not make Kaz change the whole game.. that's what GT is, a celebration of cars.
So what percentage more are cars celebrated by tedious interface design?

You can round if need be.

The funny part is that there were several GT games without the pointless dressings. Were they in fact Forza games?

A lot of small things are tedious in GT.

At face value it doesn't make me mad, but then I think of how much time I spent watching pointless animations...

New menus aside, GT could still use more streamlining.

Edit: Don't even get started on paint chips...

GZombie, in GT5, didn't you notice that you actually can press a button when the "rolling to vision" animation starts? Then you receive the paint chip, right after that you may choose if you want to change to the bought car or not. You really don't need to watch the whole animation wit different headlights from here to eternity.

Even with that its still a slow and unnecessary process. I chose the car from the dealership where I was able to view it at length prior to buying it. I know what I just bought. I don't need a dramatic reveal (not to mention the fact that the actually reveal animation in GT5 was incredibly boring. Can't speak for GT6 yet) and I don't necessarily want to be shunted out of the dealership yet either...its silly design.

I wasn't really sure how to reply to this because I honestly think you're trying to troll me, but I'll take it.

What you mentioned is the point of the topic. You still have to watch something briefly and you're not really skipping it. You have to wait for some of the animation and then a dialogue prompt to confirm what you want to do.

You don't need any of that. I click buy car, it does that, then I do what I want after that without having to watch the same animation every time or having to be on the ball to skip something.

Maybe then we could stretch the "celebration" after purchasing each car out to five minutes or so, just to really get the feeling in.

If they want to celebrate the looks, that's what photomode is for. It shouldn't be forced on the player every time they buy a car.

If there was a button for 100 likes I would push it for the second paragraph alone!!!
