Buying cars is still tedious in GT6

From what I have saw so far they have improved the buying process a bit. It at least lets you stay in the dealerships after you purchase a car now.

I would like it if there was a more streamlined option where you did not have to see the drive appear after buying it and could buy a car more quickly but it looks to be better than before.

it's not "the real car buying simulator"
If it was it would be a lot more tedious than it is now.

Can you imagine the threads?

"Why oh why do I have to listen to Swift Tony try and flog me the extended warranty and gap insurance for every single car?"

"Is it really necessary to pay the delivery charge/admin charge/dealership bung. What a rip off."

"This depreciation is killing me. I've had it with this game."

At least give us the option to "press x to skip" instead of forcing us to watch the darn movie. We all recognize most people don't batch purchase cars, but for those that do, give us the option. I hit 20MM without even noticing, so I figured I'd buy a whole bunch of cheaper cars as I already had all the high end cars I want.

3 hours and a few dozen cars later, I had whittled down to 13MM. Taking a 5 second process and dragging it out to 50 seconds is unnecessary.

It's these little quirks that PD seem to like, while the rest of us find them annoying.
There are people who enjoy little charismatic details, then there are "gamers" who just want to take shortcuts and strip the fun out of everything. A lot of us enjoy confetti and nice music when we obtain a license, a start up rev on car change, pulling out of the dealership on purchase with a brief jingle, etc. It's very Japanese and they are fun people.

I blame modern gamers and streamlining of design on why we don't have beautiful things like this anymore.

What you're saying is just taking it to the extreme. You're also insinuating that you're not a gamer, so I am not sure why you're playing GT ;)

On a more serious note by stream lining UI it allows you to get to the fun quicker. This is the problem with Japanese developers, they are very stuck in their ways (I know first had as I've worked with Square and Capcom) and it's basically their way or the highway, it's tricky to find a middle ground most of the time.

It is funny that I log in just to say this but I swear if the game didnt have any animation after purchasing a car we would have another thread going like this "buying cars in gt6 to simple" or "PD coyldnt be bother to add animation after buying a car, cancelling pre-order" I guess PD cant make everyone happy..

People always looking for small things to moan instead of spend that time enjoying the other big great things. . Sorry but I have read a lot of moaning in this last days that I have to say somenthing..

Grittings

If you don't bring things up to discuss how are you supposed to improve? Having said that I know not everyone has that same ambition to improve things, but a lot of people do. So complaining about people who give feedback as moaning is a bit silly. It's a forum after all.

I find the car buying time issue the biggest of them all in GT5, most importantly the lack of a shopping cart. Sad to hear it wasn't fixed.

But I like the buy car animations, and the songs that come with it. :( In GT5 it took way to long, but in GT6 it seems faster. I like that.

I prefer going to to the supermarket to purchase everything needed for the week in one trip, instead of going 50 times a day to purchase one item and come back over and over, with a celebration in between each trip.

Adding a shopping cart to GT6 (via updates) does not necessarily interfere with the default settings. It's all about having the option of buying 50 cars at once, 50 times faster.

It's more like tradition than a feature in the eyes of PD, they designed the "buying a car" scene and they want you to see it everytime you buy a car...even if you're sick of it when buying the 1000th+ car.

XS
I never found it to be an inconvenience. I'm certainly in favor of your idea, but I like to buy a car, tune it, test it, time attack it, tune and test some more, then move on to the next new car. I did that for every car in my garage in GT5.
Yeah, me too, but what if you have to buy 1000 for a trophy, just like in GT5? :P

I have more than 500 cars in GT5, but that purchase scene always was annoying, and pointless.

****! Still like this? This was absolutely one of the most ANNOYING THINGS EVER and I listed it months ago in the 'gt6 features wish list thread' that they would improve it! :( :( :( UNBELIEVABLE! FOCUS ON USABILITY, PD!

Main problem for me on GT5 was buying a Daihatsu Copen over and over again for black paint (almost all of my cars have black wheels). This won't effect me too much if paint items can be used infinitely, but the option to skip it would be much welcomed.

That said, imagine how much time I must have wasted watching the animation buying somewhere in the region of 2,000 cars in my time on GT5. If I'd spent all that time doing my A Level work, I might have gotten a grade worth jack 🤬 in Design!

lol. Well, its wonderful that you enjoy watching the same boring animation over and over and over again but I'm pretty sure the fact that I don't happen to has nothing to do with us not having "beautiful things" anymore. Its not even an enjoyable, or even close to beautiful animation. Its a terrible angle to choose to view the car at...

What would be the problem with simply allowing those of us who don't like this sort of beautiful thing to turn them off?

I think, as someone else mentioned, that there should be a "Press X To Skip" option or, at the very least, an option in the Settings menu to disable lengthy celebrations similar to how some Final Fantasy games let you trim down the summon animations.

Call me crazy, but I like the longer animations. Granted I've never bought more than a car at a time, but the car coming out to me and the congratulations made it feel like I actually bought a car and not a toy.

What is with some people's obsession with collecting every car?

Can't you just enjoy the cars you actually like instead of grinding all the time?

To each their own but, I really don't understand... :D

This. I played because I liked the game. Not because I wanted a huge E-Peen

Why don't you stop being so black and white?

Just because we don't enjoy seeing the same tedious animations again and again and again, doesn't mean we're trying to make everything boring. There are better ways to handle things like this. There are ways to make buying a car fun without making it so drawn out and annoying. How? Go buy a car in GT1, GT3, and GT4 and you'll see the perfect way to do it without wasting everyone's time. The way GT5 does it, and apparently GT6, is not "brief" at all.

I don't think the video and funfair after buying a new car is tedius but an option to skip the video for moaners who want everything yesterday is a good option

I think the video and fanfair after buying a new car is tedious but think its perfectly fine for those who like having their time wasted to be able to view them if they want to, I'd just like to be able to turn them off.

Giving constructive feedback != moaning.

Please use some common sense before posting ;)
