Bought a brand new exhaust (from the cat back) for the TurboBrick. When the exhaust fell off, the car was a little bit faster. As soon as the new muffler went in, it felt like I lost 5-10 horsepower. :ill:

By next week I should have the boost controller. :sly: That'll MORE than make up for the difference. Also, the fuel line is fixed so fuel economy has dramatically improved.

So you see? All of you who THINK you have crappy cars... a little repair here, a small patch there... and then you're as good as new! :dopey:

Not nearly as bad as some of the others, but Here goes:

Pros:
It's a 1992 Lexus SC 300
2JZ Powah!!!1!
It's a Lexus
Never failed to start, but has come close to not doing it a few times.
Leather interior
4 functional speakers
functional tape player
radio works most of the time
The right turn signal works
Power everything, most of it works
Both Taillights work(atleast the last time I checked)

Cons:
169,587 miles but not bad for 13 years!
No turbo:grumpy:
Automatic doesn't exactly shift in great places, and doesn't seem to get in gear in the rain - I'll accelerate normally, and the mph guage will go up to 60 when I'm only going 19 or 20:nervous:
Traction control light is always on, but It doesn't seem like it works.
The left turn signal turns the left foglight on.
The right regular beam works(barely)
The left High beam works(barely)
Driver's side tweeter doesn't work 3/4 of the time
Driver's side door panel almost torn off
Driver's mirror broken in two places(not my doing -honest)
Driver's side speaker in the door doesn't work half of the time
12 disc CD player doesn't even turn on, let alone work. (I think it ate my Carlin CD:grumpy: )
The hood and trunk were keyed by somebody
My cousin got a nasty dent in it in Marceline (not her doing)
The front bumper is all screwed up, and there's big gaps inbetween it and the headlights.
The Giant piece of plastic under the engine compartment is about to fall off.
My gas mileage sucks. It should get at least 20 city, but gets more like 15.
Trunk has to be held open
Brakes make a crunching noise when I hold the pedal down to put it in park, drive, or reverse.
Lots of stuff rattles. especially anything in the doors.
Driver's side door panel all scratched up from when my tire threw the tread in the far left lane of I-435 in lunch hour traffic.
Sunroof takes forever to open and close, it takes two 15 second pushes of the button to close it. one gets it half way there, and won't go anymore, so it has to be pushed again to go the rest of the way.

That's basically it, not nearly as bad as most of the others, but I might as well submit my entry.

Geez.. did some ricer have there hands on this car before you got it or something? :dopey: As for the car, I don't think it will get in even though there are "lighting" issues.

Nope, It went through the hell of being a company car for two years.

I drive a 1993 golf

Pros:
Can withstand anything
Very light (stripped down)
Nice Red Colour
Top speed 65m.p.h

Cons:
Badly dented front bumper
no glass in it
no radio
not road legal
can only drive it in a feild
ist been flipped by my uncle
Its a stock car
a lot of dents

But overall I love it!

Can I join?

Can i be in i have a 77 nova 4 door with a 269 i think. Its ok has some rear side panel rust at the bottoms. It starts, guzzles gas, and is BIG. I like it though only problem is that its rear wheels so in the winter up here it sucks. I spray painted th whole engine interior. Including a silver aircover. O there is more like the brakes have to pumped up or i will crash and when there not the emergency brake light turns on which i dont know where it is . Umm i dont thinkt he fuel gauge work either. I have a pegboard interior celieng, not sure if thats option or not.

i have one for you. the ultimate in crappy cars:

1972 Chevy Pickup

Pros: When I think of some, I will let you know. Oh, wait...it DOES have a 350. AH...and it isn't my primary vehicle, which means that i don't have to be seen in it often.

Cons:

* the windows (manual, not power) are stuck at half-mast. which doesn't matter much, as the cranks to operate them are missing.

* no radio.

* no air conditioning (and i live in the tropics).

* the doors must be slammed in order to get them to stay shut. see below.

* upon SLAMMING said doors, the ridiculous degree to which the body has rusted becomes immediately apparent in the form of a shower of rust chips and particles that end up in the occupants' hair, clothing, eyes, etc. oh, and by the way: that inch-thick patina of bird crap is LOAD-BEARING bird crap...think "nature's spackle."

* it leaks transmission fluid. so every time you want to go somewhere, you have to stop to refill it.

* the hood is held closed with a length of electrical wire, the latch having long since returned to the earth.

* the neighborhood cats have taken to sleeping/urinating inside the cab.

* there are no brake lights. or tail lights. the entire assembly is gone.

* it sounds like someone is beating a mule with a section of garden hose when you start it. assuming it starts.

* when last painted (some five years ago), it was painted with housepaint and brushes. the color? proctologist brown. but the hubcaps were painted white. how very jazzy.

so. take me to your leader.

I replaced the light, but it burned out in about a week. :grumpy:

Lambo,

My Chevy's emercancy brake is the parking brake, which is a small pedal almost scraping the side of the footwell. It should be on the far left, If the novas were the same way as the fullsize chevy's

Oh, and if you took the Nova's platform-mates and made an acronym of their names it would be

Nova
Omega it might be Orion, I'm not sure
Ventura
Apollo

Useless info.:)

Well, after 330k odd miles, the '89 Accord engine finally ran it's last breath of life, it gave out, so now I went with a more fuel economic car.

I got a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage Coupe, it's a decent little car and gets +- 30 MPG. Nothing really wrong with it at all.

1978 VW Bus-

Pros - Hippie van, I love it to death
- Good gas mileage
- Manual
- Easy to fix up
- My father imported it straight from Germany when he was traveling there

Cons -

- The camping roof is peeling off
- So are the faux wood panel attachments
- 4-cylinder
- Found cockroaches a few times in the cabinets
- Moldy
- Rusty
- Needs more painting after bodywork was
done a year ago after a crash I was in
- Can't find the seatbelt in the back
- Nonworking radio
- Missing a hubcap

I still love it to bits though.

Well I'm not the most active member but I think you might be out of the club.

On a side note my Charade started running on two cyclinders the other day its fixed now but you should have felt the awesome power of a 1 litre three cyclinder running on two cyclinders! Sadly, I think i'll be in the club for a long time.

My fiancee had a 1985 (it was born the same year that she was) Civic HB:

Pros:
-looked pretty good for its age (from a distance)
-nice rims (off of my '90 CRX)
-new alternator (I had to replace it every couple of months, not sure if thats the cars fault or what?)
-5 spd still shifted like a Honda
-for like a week, it's horn transformed into a semi/ocean liner horn (fun!)
-had (see below) a good stereo (even if the rear speakers were from a Pioneer home bookshelf system!)

Cons:
-over 350, 000 kms (thats 218 000 miles for you Yankees)
-paint badly spider-webbed
-rust, rust and more rust (in the typical Honda places)
-floor boards rusted out (at least the carpet was still there, too bad you can't get structural floor mats!)
-battery had to be charged every night in the winter
-front right wheel fell of in the McD's drive-through (not just the wheel, but the whole assembly... brakes and all)
-back seat seatbelts non-operational
-had to push the plug wires back in every few weeks or so
-sounded like a can full of angry bees (you ricers might want to put that in the 'Pro' column)
-hatch had to be slammed so hard for it to stay closed that rust would fly up from the corners
-'the seat cusions got a big rrrip, so a spring always pokes de balls, outch outch outch'
-has a radio, but some schmuck broke into it and stole the faceplate (ass)

We both actually liked the car, and lots of the bad stuff was because of user neglect (after we sold it to her sister). It was a fun car to drive. Sorry to say that it was in an accident last week... written off for @ $700 (Cnd.). Sad to see it go... it was her first car, a gift from her dad (she had it since she was 15).

Coming soon... my '95 Grand Am SE... ;) (knock on wood)

ok, i drive a 99 olds alero coupe . here is why i feel i belong here...ready?...here it comes
cons
- black paint (the small scratches all over my car show anytime, HOT in summer which has damaged A/C and heating coils)
- nice scratch right in my viewing field of winshield
- i paid $7200 for it. in all the work ive put into it, ive paid another $7400...for
---dropped cylinder
]--all bad lifters
---cracked block
---busted tranny
---bad water pump
---timing chain
---some bad electronics
- i cant go over 3500rpm now b/c all the money ive put into it now is out the door. whatever the hell is wrong now, i dont have money to fix. @3500rpm, the whole engine shakes...its hell believe me
- because of all of the work ive put into it, now had roughly 90bhp when normal is about 135/140bhp
- front bumper damage - backed into and never got professionally fixed...tried myself :)
- because i got backed into, the headlights are permanantly out of alignment
- the padding in my bucket seat is worn away
- a tail light out
- only 90,000 miles but its in bad shape
- get about 15 mpg...when factory says 23mpg
- rusting out under rear window behind both doors
- leaks under the floor (dont ask how...i dont know how)
- due to leaks, has a nice mildew-like smell only sometimes
- has a few nice dents from shopping carts and friends running into it...for fun of course
- rotors and brake are gone about every 3-4 months. must be replaced
- came stock with an AM/FM radio...i ended up putting a mid-line pioneer face in (for what reason, dont ask)
- leaks oil too

pros

- it moves
- horn works
- e-brake works - just incase
- nothing wrong with back seat at all.

if you need more, ill give em to you...i hope to be the newest member with the newest P.O.S. car

and now im very depressed...:indiff:

 I don't have any say in this but I'd be pretty sure you're in if you get a misfire above 3500 rpm, leaks oil and is rusting...

Better drop Event a PM, only he can make the decision for membership to this ultra-swanky club now that our good friend MrktMkr is flying around in a turbo brick.

haha, i see that brick hes driving too...but its better than what i got.

i PMed him and hopefully he'll get back to me.

thanks for you help

Yeah, you can get in. I'm not editing the front post though, i've retired from as head of this club, sorry.

Hi Dave!

A soon to be moderately-modified turbo brick. :sly:

Camshaft, injectors, a/f meter, boost controller, and a straight pipe coming off the cat (no muffler, no resonator).

Unfortunately I don't have enough time to monitor the boards like before. After final exams etc. I'll have more time.

If you want e-mail me -- that's the best way to get in contact with me.

Wow.. stumbled across this while searching. We should really bring this back! Everyone that still has their POS and it still runs raise their hand! :raises hand:

I have the same car as vipfreak...
