VLN runs all layouts of the 'Ring once, but NOT the Nordschleife. They need the 24h/GP circuit pit lane.

Also, I'll be in for the practice race, & will voluntarily start arears, to avoid problem...

...We will be having a practice race or two so I need folks to let me know whether this sunday morning at 8am Australian Central Standard Time would work? Should be around 10:30GMT on Sat night I think...

Count me in for the practice race! 👍 Great way to get to know the other racers. Still no idea what car, it will be an RM ... I think ... it's orange, that's for sure!
Cheers

Thanks everyone, I will be creating a new PSN ID just for this series and we will be using that lounge to race and train etc. This will ensure that no one other than event participants can enter the room meaning when we are racing we will not get interrupted by random folk.

Demplar: Yes, you may participate or watch this week so the lap counter can be tested :)

The 24hr track will be used for the first race, we may use track 5 at some point but that will form part of the re-evaluations after the first event which is not far off so I hope you are all practicing!

Remember the car cut-off too folks, no need to put it in here as you may PM me the car choice up until cut off.

Thanks all

HP

I've heard that it can affect room performance so instead of risk sketchy connections I'd rather it is switched off and then the worst we can do is not have busted cars!

Thanks for the reply, I will have to look into that further. I did post some info up here a while back about how to improve connections in GT5, but never even considered visible damage having an impact.

👍

2012 SEP 22 - 1030GMT. I will be joining in the practice.

Correction :
Make that 2230GMT.

All, I have sent the FR's to you all.

Olivier, will you use the Wurk PSN ID? I sent a FR to it so you or Kurt need to remember to go in and accept the FR.

More to follow guys :)

I'm pretty sure I can make this practice race also .... to the best of my ability to use the "Event Time Announcer" it seems to indicate that this will be at 6:30 PM EST. I'm not positive about this though :dunce: Anyone on the East Coast over here that can confirm this (or set me straight more than likely) :dopey:

I am. I'll PM you. I think we're friends on PSN, right? Or...

Hey MrM .... sent you a FR and have some personal news :):):):)

It's taken me 2 years but I have finally managed to get my system switched from a NAT Type 3 to a NAT Type 2. All it took was $175 :):):)

I'm interested in this and would like to participate. Any chance of the new DLC GTR being included?

No problem mate.

The GTR-R35 TC? Already on the list mate and my choice also.

FYI all:

The lounge has been set up and we start in less than 24 hours.

Can you all please send the Wurks 4hr PSN ID a message with your internet connection speed etc, you can get it from network test.

Also, there's a few of you not accepted the FR I sent, please do so ASAP.

Cheers

What time is it at again?

In 22 hours 10 min that's start race so if I can get everyone there in 21 hours and 30 min for the qual 1 lapper demolition derby at Monaco.

I was actually asking about the one coming out on this Tuesday, the GT-R N24 GT Academy '12. The one KY and Lucas drove.

D/L speed 13.3 Mbps
U/L speed 8.4 Mbps

Hardwired connection.

What time is the practice and what's the link to the time converter site?

Hope to see you guys after work tomorrow!!

That car needs to be reviewed first, I will let you all know when I've tested it.

The link to the time converter site is just that, a link to time and date.com.

There are two members who aren't seeing the new PSN ID on their in game friends list. Can I get you to all confirm whether you can see it?

I am adding the GT by Citroën Road Car to the list of cars for tomorrow mornings practice session, if anyone wants to use it then you may and we can evaluate it and possibly add it to the permanent list if all at Wurks agree.

Sorry for that rare double post :(

New 4-hour race ID visible. Lounge visible in GT5.

Lounge will open in 6 hours 47 min. Anyone who's not on the friend list needs to send a PSN message to Heathenpride and when I log on in 7 hours I'll see it and go and approve it.

We will have 45 min for free run and tune and qual starts shortly after and the race proper will start in 7 hours 47 minutes from the timestamp of this post.

Thanks all

:)

I don't know if this will be discussed or not so I'll mention it here ... since we will have damage set at "Heavy", there is a good likelihood that at least a few will incur damage and have to limp around for some distance to get back to the pits. This track is quite narrow and hard to pass a good car holding it's line let alone a wounded car being driven erratically due to damage. I would ask that anyone suffering damage and trying to get back to the pits please be mindful of cars coming from behind and not weave back and forth across the track by trying to rush your return to the pits. A damaged car over-driven is just another accident waiting to happen :)

Oh yes, also in case you hadn't heard .... the upcoming game update will include updated tire wear modelling to make the tires last a bit longer to facilitate Endurance racing 👍👍👍

Lounge is now open for 45 min free run.

Great race everyone who was able to make it 👍

Congratulations to HeathenPride for a solid victory, I think you lead the race start to finish so kudos for consistency.

I enjoyed getting on track with some new people and look forward to the rest of the lead up races before tackling the grueling 4 hour race in a month.

Catch you all on track soon.

Ben.

Yes, I enjoyed my race up until when I had to leave (sorry about that). Ben, I was keeping HP honest and actually led for a lap (although in fairness it was just pit strategies that drove that).

Was there much damage going around? I did notice a few hairy skid marks that didn't look too good, but never saw any incidents first hand.

Looking forward to the real deal at end of October.

Nice one David, I had a few self inflicted spins, and luckily only suffered minimal damage.
I touched the grass around the first left after the esses and that put me down to 9th so the rest of my race was playing catch up
I did end up only 12 sec behind HP on the last lap then had to back off due to tyre wear and minor front left suspension damage. All up a great race though 👍

It was an interesting race for me. Best lap: 8.25.3xx and finished 3rd by +48sec.

I started in 9th of 11 cars on the grid by choice.
On the first lap I had someone tap my left front wheel causing severe toe out. Mid-lap, a fellow racer lagged back toward my GTR and caused engine damage. I limped the car back to pits and set off to see what could be salvaged of the race. I was down by over a minute.

6 laps later, it was over with the +48secs.

Happy about my performance, especially since my tune is just a bit of toe adjustment front and back. Need to find something better...

Thanks for the race everyone!

It was a good race but the grid was flawed, I let it go so we didn't end up delayed further.

My race was uneventful with my strategy being to run the first 3 laps on one stop then base my next stop on what my closest rival was doing, turns out that was David so instead of doing 3 again did 2 and pushed hard so I maintained my lead.

Lap 6 for me was a slow one as Ben was 28 seconds behind so I slowed to conserve tyres then pushed harder lap 7 to ensure he didn't catch up and I knew his tyres would have been hurting too hahs

All in all a great race.

Will do the same thing weekly at the same time until the race.

Thanks to everyone for coming out :)
