You're in 👍

Added this to the OP just now:

I will be requesting you all to confirm with me your internet speeds also and I need your confirmation that you are NOT intending to use a wireless connection for the race, only wired connections are allowed in order to ensure greater stability.

I speak German: I'll help with pronunciation.

You can call it "Vee Ell Enn" (like the English alphabet) or "Fow Ell Enn" (as the Germans pronounce it.

Otherwise, "Ver-an-s(h)talt-er-gem-ein-schaft Lang-s(h)treck-en-pok-al Nür-burg-ring" are the syllabi.

It translates (roughly) to: "Event Series Long Circuit Nürburgring" OR (more loosely) "Nürburgring Endurance Circuit Series."

(I noticed that some people commented on it, above)

Also, HP, I have deleted some less-than-respectable people, and Kevin01SH, (he sold his PS3) and sent you an FR.

Internet speed: 13-20 mbps NAT 2, wired.

Thanks MrMelancholy for the language lesson 👍

HP, I'm afraid due to infrastructure issues I am unable to secure a wired LAN connection for the PS3, been on wireless all the while.

Hence for the sake of race quality I assume myself to be disqualified from the race, unless notified otherwise. Appreciate if you can kindly confirm my final status.

DETAILS
Entry car : Corvette ZR1 '09 RM
Network : NAT 2
Download : ~1 Mbps lately (was advertised as 5Mbps)

You've been on wireless the whole time you have been a CRAP member? Hmm, well clearly there is nothing wrong with your connection because you've been in nearly every enduro with nary a drama...

Hmm, let me consider this but you're in Bob, I can't fault your connection based on being in hundreds of races with you so you may compete.

Anyone else with wireless needs to contact me and set up some testing, we will do it that way 👍

Noted and thanks HP.

I consider my connection in the Being-watched List and will take orders from the Race Stewards if it's causing problem with the online room.

Thanks Bob 👍

Would a long enough cord help? I got a 30 metre cord for 29 bucks so that might be an option?

Sorry that I haven't contacted you lately, or even send a friend request. I have the worst memory so that's all on me. :(

You're welcome Bob.

Dai, eat more fish! I actually have a decent memory, but NEVER eat seafood. :sly: I'm just that weird.

Visible Damage: Off - This will hopefully assist with connections.

Does this have an impact on lag etc? I'm really interested in what you have observed regarding this, please tell.

I might be interested to join the 24h race as in school I'll do a project work (eveyone needs to do a project) together with my friends. We don't know yet what we'll do yet but maybe something about "gaming". I'd be glad if I could join your race, my internet speed is 8.0 mbit. I think I'm a clean driver, I'm an organizer at another website and like endurance races. I also have a youtube channel, link here: http://www.youtube.com/user/FilipOvikGT5?feature=mhee

I'll try to get in touch with you later, I'll send you a message if I can join :)

Regards

Filip

I've heard of that, too. If nothing else, it means that your car will look REALLY nice, even at the end of 4 hours.

Hi Filip. :) Haven't we raced before?

I've heard that it can affect room performance so instead of risk sketchy connections I'd rather it is switched off and then the worst we can do is not have busted cars!

Hey wurks.ca's Kurt Duddy here.

I'm in for the 4hr race...or the qualification if there are many signups. Will be fun!

PSNID: KurtKrDu
Connection: Download: 3.4mbps, Upload: 641kbps
Car Choice: TBD

Never tried fish...

I shall share my connection information, I do use wireless and I'm sure a hard wired connection (or whatever it's referred to as) will not be possible.

As I have found on speedtest.net (hopefully a reliable source):
Download: 20 Mbps
Upload: 8 Mbps

You have my PSN but just in case it's daibaspeed. Also my car choice shall be unknown for now. I have yet had the time to get on the PS3 so I will be getting to it probably tomorrow, if not today.

:)

Do wired connections tend to be faster? I wonder how fast it could be if I switched...

They do yes.

Do you have a wired connection in the house? You can get a 30m ethernet cable for next to nothing so if that is all that is stopping you I would recommend it.

Everyone:

We will be having a practice race or two so I need folks to let me know whether this sunday morning at 8am Australian Central Standard Time would work? Should be around 10:30GMT on Sat night I think.

We will run a 1 hour race, 7 laps, and will not run qualifying but instead will have a 1 lap frantic "dirty" race at Monaco with full penalties and damage... It will ensure we all get a huge laugh and will ensure fairness with the grid because we will have Fastest First for the nurb race.

It is also a great way to test a car :)

This is NOT how we will qualify normally but is instead a good way to break the ice for us all as it should be a huge laugh, will make for a brilliant replay too haha.

Cheers!

If by the chance a wired connection is out question, is my current connection (at least statically wise) of an acceptable level? Also there should be no doubt in my presence to this practice race. I may have a car sorted out already, just need to get around to getting its full potential out.

Judging by those settings you will be fine mate but we should test it, the race this week will be a good start for that.

That'll do. I'm quite excited for this. :D

Me too, can't wait to get behind the wheel for 4 hours!

Everyone needs to keep in mind that they must be thinking nutrition and fluid retention as an absolute priority as well, both of those can absolutely ruin your race if dismissed or taken lightly...

Great to have a practice session 👍 , but unfortunately I'm off to our hideout on the countryside for the weekend so I will miss this meeting. :(

The practice will be great for me. It would be practical to get a spot reserved for Olivier (also wurks.ca) in the 4hr VLN so we can beta test our new lap counting program. Let me know.

Also...isn't the real VLN series on the Nordschleife? We can adapt it a bit in order for the guys to get practice on the full circuit too... I'm open for anything.
