Yes, to be fair, I did see Ben beach it at turn 4 on lap 1 but I think everything else that happened was behind me

Turn 6 or 7 or 8... One or the other... Someone else. I was a by-stander. I'll be back, next time, with a GT-R TC, and will avoid those who spun more.

I had a fun race and would have won had luck being the deciding factor. 
I stayed back and went last (sorry for pulling out before 30 secs ... I was in a hurry to get out of the way). The "Luck" was plentiful considering that I spun 3 times (albeit slow lazy spins all by myself) and didn't hit a darned thing. Never got a lick of damage and managed to finish 4th (I think) after starting last

Starting grid. Back view. The Observer - Kurt #29 closing the pack.
Rolling start with Ben, HP, Cobani leading.
Ben loses the lead on the 4th turn, ends up in the sand. Rejoin at 9th.
Ben reclaims 7th spot. Subaru's #47 NSX seems to be doing small lag-jumps on track, damn you PSN...
Subaru_WRC555 loses the NSX and takes MrMelancholy with him...
ANFD plays it smart and kept a distance away from the carnage. The skid marks shows the drama that occured on this hallow spot...
HP exits the GP Circuit with Cobani very close behind. David comes 1 second later.
daiba leads 4th followed by BobZ, WIDFO and Ben.
Subaru_WRC555 has gotten a mighty twisted rear wheel after that impact in the GP circuit. Amazing to still keep it straight.
Kurt tailing WIDFO, who thens make a magical disappearance in the next few turns, thanks to PSN Disconnect Service.
HP leads with Cobani pushing hard into a drift behind.
Bob passes daiba on the back straight to take 5th.
Kurt having difficulty overtaking daibas due to network lag. Cars making small jumps across the track...
Ben pushes his GT-R very very hard. Clocks an 8:23 lap early on.
Kurt skillfully dodges a spinning daiba.
Ben and Kurt pitting for Lap 3. Heavy damage.
ANFD gaining on daiba's Subaru at the Esses.
The two orange monsters of David and Cobani trailing behind the leader HP.
ANFD surely and steadily moves up the grid. Takes 8th from daiba.
HeathenPride is fully in control of the race. David a close 2nd behind.
4th spot BobZ : "Suddenly a GT-R appears out of nowhere ! Sheeeeet!"
An already spinning Cobani is not impressed. Heavy damage to both, a 15km limp back to the pits.
Subaru_WRC555 have trouble getting into the pits with a broken rear-axle.
Ben aiming for ANFD's 3rd spot, and getting it.
MrMelancholy goes steady at 9th spot. The Evo and Subaru is off the pace of the leading GT-Rs by more than 30 seconds per lap.
Ben makes quick work up to 3rd spot.
ANFD patience paid off, overtakes the damages cars of BobZ and Cobani.
Kurt jumps 2 spots to 4th and passed the limping BobZ and Cobani.
Bob and daiba pitting lap 5, david_b left his GT-R parked in the pits and left for an appointment.
ANFD loses it and Kurt snaps 3rd spot.
Kurt pushing it hard and the GT-R bit back.
Too much gas can be fatal ! BobZ spinning.
Cobani takes ANFD for 5th spot.
Lap 6, final pitting.
HP, then undisputed winner. Without even a scratch on his GT-R,
while the rest of the field went through gearbox and shock changes đź‘Ť
HP ran an uneventful race and deserves the Rock-hard Consistency Award. While Ben gets the Comeback Kid Trophy for a close 18 seconds finish behind even after that catastrophic start. The rest of the gentlemen deserves applause for sticking it till the end.

I messed up by spinning my damaged car, Torpedo-Bob had nowhere to go.
I'll try and improve by getting as much track time as possible.

I know how you feel mate but stick it out, it's one 7 lap race and with another 20 odd laps in a 4 hour endurance event you'd have plenty of time to regroup.
Also, I will be reviewing the replay and looking for irregularities and sketchy driving, if i find any I will discuss with the driver concerned.
I do appreciate your frustration though mate, last year in my prep for the 24 Nurb there was many expletives uttered
But it was all worth it đź‘Ť

I just want to thank bobd for taking the time and effort to put together his pictorial race re-cap. Not only do we get cool pics but we get a true sense of how the race unfolded and that isn't always an easy task, especially given the fact that the replay was about 20 minutes long I think. My hats off to you Sir for a great presentation .... truly a cut above all the rest

If it's still allowed, I'm switching cars. Hopefully that too will give me "plenty of time to regroup."
Question is, which GT-R? Or, which Corvette?
Anyways, yeah, I cooled off, as normal. I was surprised that the NSX ended up back in-front lf me, despite going way off-track (all four wheels.)

That would have been me. Sorry. I had not played in 2 weeks and jumped in cold an had not tested. Finally got to grips with the car after damage the first 2 laps. Won't be using that car.

My driving is better than that. I just was rusty at the time and did not intend to have a massive tank slapper like I did. I will gladly step away if is an issue with what happened on track. As I said my driving is better than that and I wish to continue.

I am sure we are all gentlemen drivers here, otherwise we wouldn't be gearing up for a 4 hours race.
As for me, I will do my very best to be clean and fair, but then again, we are all human (right?

Racing the ring cleanly and at a proper pace is hard enough as it is. You guys are managing 'getting into it', lag problems, new drivers and odd driving schedules for some. The 4hr will certainly be impressive. Imagine those who will qualify in the top 7 for the 24hr event. They will have run the ring soooooooooooooo many times.
BTW, the Ring Bandits (last years 1st place winners) have signed up for the 2013 event. Maybe we'll see them around?

Agreed, great report Bob and for those experiencing teething problems I say just stick it out, trust me I went to hell and back training for the 2012 24hr so I know how it is, it will sort itself out though I assure you.
