It's still going to feel like a go-kart circuit.

I notice that you call it "Forne de Capra GP". Therefore, I take it that you intend for this to be a Grand Prix circuit, suitable for Formula 1. In that case, the longest a circuit can be is 7.50km, or 4.66mi. However, most new circuits are not more than 5.50km, or 3.41km. So this circuit is twice as long as it is allowed to be.

Is there a particular reason why a track must be no longer than 7.50 kilometres for an F1 track? To be fair, most tracks being around 5.5 or less kilometres is pretty staid at the moment, it would be quite interesting to see more variety in distance at times.

Oooh, I would not want to drive through Ultimo ...

why? to narrow?

The main reason is , it takes to much time for rescuers to get to the farest point of the track and the spectators didnt see the cars often because the laptimes are to long!

It's right next to Redfern, which has a bad reputation. It's home to The Block, one of the most infamous housing projects in Australia.

It's the FIA rules - all circuits must be between 3.50 and 7.50km in length.

Here's a nice one I made just now:

I'm not sure what this course would be located. The name I got from my creativity :P Here's a bit of description on each sector:

Overdrive Sector
It starts off from a tight but surprisingly wide hairpin similar to La Source on Spa. Then it squishes tightly when you enter onto the slowly descending straight. Don't let the scenery fool you.

Platinum Overpoint
Begins from a blind corner up a hill through some sharp turns until you loop back downhill.

Cobalt Esses
Gets tighter as you progress through the esses, so watch with caution.

Capra Lake (unnamed straight)
A lengthy bridge over an indulging sea.

Viper Sector
Pass through several blind sweepers to another straight.

Ghost Sector
Sudden kinks approach you until tight turns downhill into descending sweepers.

Palace Sector
Similar to Viper Sector's, but it is approached slowly due to small space.

Pit Lane
It's just a couple of inches off the track, and exits off by a margin of the road to yield.

Variations - Ghost, SpeedTrap
Ghost is just the Ghost Sector.
SpeedTrap is all the other sectors, plus a route to boost the speed (see Palace Sector).

I made an as-yet-unnamed track that F1 may or may not like:

Although two crossovers? The short loop bits should REALLY be brought away from them so there's actual space for the track to increase in height properly. Drag strip bit is completely flat.

Both of these look like pretty interesting tracks to me!

Personally I wouldn't go a bundle on worrying about the length... when you're talking about a fantasy track, making sure you state the correct length is hardly likely to be the biggest issue to overcome!

One of the days I'm going to get round to finishing a track in 3D via sketchup...

I got bored today.

Sturgis GP

Not quite suitable for racing, as there's an island in the middle of Chicago Road (just before the start-finish line), but would be okay if it was taken out. Lots of 90-degree turns, unfortunately, but that's the nature of this town.

I'm quite bored so here's another:

Distance is undecided, but I think it should be a bit longer than Nurburgring GP. I'll describe each sector:

Hammer Sector
Proceed through a long chicane to a wide hairpin. Then descend down a never-ending straight banking left and right into a J-turn. Negotiate an esses to a opposite J-turn, into a surprisingly short straight.

Strafe Sector
Pass through two wide banks to a blind chicane. Continue through a slowly descending esses to another wide blind corner, into a beautiful yet horrific drop with sudden elevation changes.

Frontier Sector
Six 90 degree turns into the finish line. Between fifth and six lies the pit entrance, limited to a margin of the road.

Variations - Stock Car, SpeedBowl
Stock Car is a config dedicated to Stock Car racing.
SpeedBowl is a config suitable for any challenge, where corners A banks almost 45 degrees to the apex, similar to Daytona's. The pit entry & exit slightly changes to a small integrated route like Daytona's.

Scenery
The course takes place in a desert-like region, with a small forest in the distance. The sun constantly shines on the course so 0% rain. The course is placed on a rolling hill, so its nature is sweeping.

An idea for a 90s-esque British GP similar to Silverstone. You can just imagine a 70s-80s version skipping 6-9 and 13-16 to have a blisteringly fast track.

Probably the best track I've made so far.

Do you guys just use ms paint for your tracks? I can never get them to look clean like that.
For example i did this quickie. See how its all sharp and not smooth?
mail

I named it that cause im drinking snapple and love it
Red line is start/finish

I use Paint.NET for simple drawing and photo manipulation. They have Anti-Aliasing so curves are a bit more detailed. However it is not as advanced as Photoshop.

Descriptions:
Malibu Chicane I
A chicane similar to the Variante del Rettifilo on Monza, but limited to a wall enclosure except an overshoot zone in the direction of the straight before it.

Malibu
Suddenly quick and sharp turns circling many hotels and other buildings. A sweeper lies at the end into Victoria. Road width is exceptionally large, so it is fairly easy to flatout this sector.

Victoria
An amusement park lies in the heart of this sector. You begin by a short straight into a slow but surprisingly fast corner cluster. Another wide road but it is more risky than Malibu's, therefore flatting it out is difficult. Then you progress through a climbing straight into a blind chicane, making it blind because it is still climbing. Negotiating w/o any problems is very challenging.

Sparkles
You enter into a flowery meadow stretching to more buildings. The nature here is bumpy, and contains some drops and climbing until a hard right to the next sector. Gaining to top speed is no easy business.

Vegas Esses
You enter into a Vegas-like scenery: Casinos, grand hotels, attractions, etc. You begin by some long esses into a short chicane. Then stretch out into some tough esses. It switches from wide road, short road, and so on. Finally it ends to two kinks into a major chicane.

Malibu Chicane II
A tighter version of the Malibu Chicane I.

Pit Stop
Entry is an instant, so is the exit.

What length are you going for, in particular? Because the tracks you've made seem far more complex than any modern track I can think of. I can count 55 corners in there (maybe more, maybe less, I'm doing a rush job).

Grr, no one likes building tracks with a long straight followed by a slow corner for good overtaking.

Sadly whenever I try something like that it almost definitely becomes a Tilkedrome. That, and I seem to have a problem with many of my unpublished tracks having the same "two big bits connected with a looooong straight" design (think Bahrain, Estoril and to an extent, Catalunya and you're about there), and they look a bit samey to me.

That, or I end up with a 30-turn monstrosity lacking in charm or character whatsoever.

Meh, I haven't thought too much on that course. I think it's more of an Enduro rather than an F1 track.

I think it has far to much corners for an Formula 1 Circuit;)

Yeah, I thought so :P

I get similar problems making tracks occasionally. Usually it takes me a couple of hours to make something that has character.

Nice one. I spent 6 months in Toronto earlier this year (and as a matter of fact, spent three of those months living and working ten seconds walk (on Chestnut and Dundas)from part of your track) and I hope to emigrate there.

The track is good, although the track officials will have to kick out the homeless who regularly sleep on University Avenue.
