Name this car then.

Edit: Remember, Sedan is aparently the name of maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany 1930-1940 vehicles. Even a Beetle is actually called Sedan. So, no, i won't accept that as a name.

It's technical name was the 1934 Ford V8 or aka model 40

Also was the car Bonnie and Clyde used

No, it is called the V8 (the V8-series), plain and simple, man do your research before claiming things which are blatantly wrong and easy to disprove.

Whatever. You are correct, since the beggining and i am plain stupid. Whatever makes you sleep at night. Now you are happy? Cool, now move on.

If you guys want to talk about other cars, there is a section of the forums for that.

This thread is for the Camouflaged Corvette C7 in GT5.

As for the C7 in GT5, it will probably be the base model Corvette Coupe, or the Z06 since the ZR1 will most likely come a bit later.

Can we drop this naming thing please ? We can call whatever we prefer to call any car, I call all Skyline GTR "Godzilla" :D

Agreed. Pointless pointless to keep this dumb crap going on. Also look at the no abs community Page. I posted some information for you

I'snt that a Model 40? Or is that some kind of unofficial designation.

I always thought that was like how the Chevelle got the SS396 moniker if it had the 396 engine.I think Chevrolet, at least back in that time, named variations of a particular model after the engine size or what type of engine it had.

They don't really do that anymore, and i doubt they'll start again with this new LT1 Powered base Corvette.

EDIT: too late, this mightve moved elsewhere...

Back on topic, i seriously hope they don't mess up the sound on this thing...

The old naming practices reflected the tool-like nature of cars ("what does it do?"), obviously marketing took it all in a new direction not too long after. It is silly, but how difficult would it be, especially as the manufacturer, to simply call that car and every variation of it (of which there would have been so very many, as was the practice at the time) by the same name: "Ford"? Or were they referring to them by their serial numbers back then? I think production figures were too high already for that.

LT-1 is clearly more than just an engine name (especially amongst Corvette "connoisseurs"), I don't know of any other Chevys that have the engine code emblazoned on the car itself (which doesn't mean there aren't any others, of course). Then there's engine capacity, a very similar thing in terms of "naming" - isn't capacity, or power output even, just another description of the tool, like "Sedan" or "V8"?

On topic-er: The exhaust sound should be fine if they use new recordings, the engine / interior sounds might not be. Then again, they may just re-use the C6 / C5 / C4 / (C3?) / C2 / C1 recordings they've already processed into loops.

My apologies, I make that mistake often

That could be the case, I don't think PD has severly messed up any Corvette noises bar the Z06 RM(Do you really expect me to believe a 7.0 V8 makes the same sound as the ISF RC's V8?) but i guess we should just pray and hope to a higher power.

Well the RM uses a racing exhaust by default, so it's bound to be wrong. :dopey:
The stock version is close-ish, a bit drier than the already dry x-pipe'd sound the real car makes perhaps, but yeah I'll be amazed if they make it sound right with every exhaust (like the Tempest / LeMans GTO does, at a basic level at least).

I think the base C7 will be a bit more fruity sounding than the C6, though, going by the spy shots.

It has a sticker... WOW, IT IS CALLED LT-1! Not.

Edit: Civic Si has a i-vtec sticker on it's door, so it is called Honda Civic i-vtec?

Ok, fair enough, excuse me.

I owned a black '04 Si and took the stickers off after someone stole my Si badges, what would it have been called then? :)

Exactly my point. Stickers do not make a car name. Besides, move on, let it go man.

Here's hoping Corvette keep the rounds. No ovals, no oblongs, no louvres. Just circles thank you.

I find it a bit funny how people get so upset at what the taillights might look like.

I just hope they move the reverse lights.

Somebody on another forum photoshopped round taillights onto one of the leaked renderings. It looked unexpectedly terrible. The car is very sharp and angular and it didn't look right at all. Imagine an Aventador with round taillights. Just doesn't work.

I fixed it for you.

Love all the people getting upset at the new tailights. Funny how I remember the same outrage when people found out about the fixed headlights on the C6....

You are absolutely right, it's officially called the Model 40 (and not the V8 as I previously thought although that's the name it's commonly referred to these days) and was sold as such, so we now know for sure it had a modelname in the first place like any car produced in relatively large numbers. ;)

Anyway, I'm very curious about the new design direction of the C7, I don't mind the taillights not being circular at all, they don't need to be literally the same shape as its predecessors to still keep a familiar Corvette appearance.

So we are about to get the new Corvette? Or will it turn out be another NSX Concept that hasn't appeared yet?

Hope not, anyway I hope I can get my hands on the camoed version and that it remains in the game after the normal version arrived.

As for the tail/rearlights, you are aware they are taped up so you can't clearly tell what they look like underneath?(could be square ;) ) But I hope they are more Corvette like than Camaro like, hence round.

Well about the nsx concept...

The concept of the nsx concept is the Acura DN-X concept and the Honda DN-X

Same thing as the NSX concept

ORPHANTHIRTY7
Yep. But those two are basically what the new NSX concept is

Yes but I think what you were trying to say it lost in all the talk about concepts.

You should have just said that the NSX concept and the DNX concept are the same.
