Can just imagine Kaz's presser for the release of the car now:

'Thank you everyone for the hype, I really hope you enjoy this car now available for free in the dealership. Except, DarkAvengerZR1. You were blasphemous and shall be punished.'

Imagine the covers coming off....... The earth will implode in orgasm. Lol.

Maybe the Mayans predicted THIS as the end of the world, everyone just spontaneously combusting due to a 'Vette.

As I only use first person view this is something I'm really curious about myself. I see four distinct possibilities:

No cockpit view
Blacked out cockpit (standard style)
Camouflaged cockpit (like some spy shots have captured)*
Full premium cockpit

While revealing the full interior seems unlikely I do hope for some sort of first person view. The camo' cockpit would be pretty ugly but probably the most realistic option. And as far as the GT-R's go, the Proto still doesn't have any cockpit but the Black Mask has a full
premium interior.

I would like a premium cockpit, camo or no camo. I was a bit disappointed when the GT-R Black Mask had just the normal GT-R interior. I was expecting at the very least to have the GT-R logo taped up...

Only thing I see different from this pic and other spy shots is others show 5 spoke rims...

I just thought of something. What if somehow the car is revealed in game live simultaneously with the real life reveal?

That would explain the emphasis on the reveal date shown on the numberplate, maybe not literally simultaneously but at least the same day or day after perhaps.
If it is done simultaneously (you know, live), that would be something very special.

Heeey...not a bad idea!💡
We could have a live stream (sort of like what we had with the Mercedes challenge with Dadiv Coulthard). And then the announcer says...

"And to those watching our live stream right now at their home, please start the Gran Turismo 5 game with your PlayStation Network session initiated for a special surprise." 👍

I can definitively see this happen. In fact, this sounds more realistic than the rest of our theories.

I love how some of you just thought of that idea

I saw this really interesting documentary about the GT-R's beginnings a few weeks back. It shows how the GT-R IRL was revealed simultaneously in GT5: Prologue, from the initial modeling of the Black Mask to the full reveal at the Tokyo Motor Show.

I recommend everyone to watch the whole thing, or skip to 30:00 and 38:30 if you guys don't have the time. It is highly possible that they will do the same with the C7 :D

I imagine it would be revealed quite close to the same day. Although I do think we will get a spin in the camo'ed version before that.

Off topic, but I thinkpeople can like the GT-R and Corvette equally, I'm one of those people. I think the 'Vette is amazing for what you get performance-wise for the money. And the same for the GT-R (except for the comparatively large maintenance costs, I should know...). Both are quite different though, and I'd love to have a 'Vette (if they had improved the interior more for the C6, things could have been different...). And support their racing program in ALMS too.

Has anybody seen this ?

Word got around pretty quick.

I liked this bit-
"We put a call in to Chevy to ask what the deal was: All they would say is that Chevy is working closely with the Sony to offer players of GT5 an authentic driving experience with the new Corvette. Chevy said more details would be available at a later date." -Jake Lingeman, Autoweek

Sounds good to me.

Haha, I know Jake! Bastard always has some exotic in his driveway. He had an SLS AMG for the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Thanks a lot! Watched the whole thing and even though I have this strange feeling that I've seen it before, it was a great watch. PD will most definitely be unveiling the C7 as it's being revealed on January 13, 2013 :).

LT1 is the engine name. If it was a version, Z06 would be called LS7 and ZR1 would be LS9.

It's still kinda confusing. LT-1 / LT1 is not a new engine designation, and Z06 etc. were also old option codes, (something like that, right?), but the actual codes for subsequent "Z06" models are not so freely disclosed because of how "iconic" the originals became. It's sort of like what happened with the Toyota GT 86, using the enthusiasts' (inherited) language in plain view.

Also, I'd assumed before that people were aware of what PD did with the GTR.

Wasn't around for it :(. I thought the same of others after finding out it was done with the GT-R, seeing as how it's barely been brought up in here. With the first half of this thread, I don't think there was any mention of the GT-R being done like that.

I just love when PD does these little secrets and all the theories come up haha..it adds a mystery feel to the game :)

I'm glad PD is still focusing on GT5. I dislike how T10 just puts the FM4 in darkness when Horizon came out..(No more unicorns, new rivals, less community activity.)..but thats just me..

PD is focusing on GT5 because it's still the latest GT game. PD is going to put GT5 in the darkness when GT6 comes out. Just like how they eventually abandoned Prologue when GT5 came along. Horizon is the latest Forza game, so I don't know why you're surprised.

The thing is...GT6 is GT5's replacement.

Forza Horizon is not FM4s replacement. T10 should still update FM4 considering FM4 is still their current game

Back to the topic..I hope we get to drive the masked C7. Nothing like driving an exclusive and secretive machine around the track (Nurburgring<3). :D

I have the same thought. Can't, wait, to see how it turns out. It's gonna be super EPIC. :D:tup:

What drugs are you on?

Someone said that it should have 3 versions of Corvette, Z06, ZR1 and LT1, when LT1 is not a version (trim level), but an engine name. Like LS3, LS7, LS9 or LT1.

LT1 engines probably will be used in base model C7's. Such as coupe, convertible and maybe a Grand Sport, i believe.

Actually I forgot I didn't mean LS1 i meant ZL1. Like the new comaro if they make it

Actually he is right, there was a high-performance C3 Corvette called LT1 sold in the early seventies and quite well known and sought after by those in the know (whether on drugs or not).

Yes, i know about the old LT1, but even the old LT1 was not really a trim level/name. Was the engine. Plus, it has nothing to do with the post he just quoted.
