Why? prey tell, is it that i tune up a car, then select 'race slicks' and it ups the PI.....yet i add 'drag slicks' (race a race track!!! huh?) it

a) drops the PI!!

b) even allows me to set foot on a race track with drag slicks!!!!!

Seriously, that isnt right is it? Even more so it it makes the car grip better, its a shocking fault and im sure every one of these noobs in yank tank glitch mobiles are on drag slicks on race tracks....what gives?:grumpy:

Seems to me that you`re the newb not them.

Can't believe im actually having a conversation with a troll, but hell....

Do you understand racing?
Lets say you do....ok do you think its correct that someone could put on drag slicks onto a race car then decide to enter a race on a race track?

They certainly don't grip as well as racing slicks, the sidewalls are very soft and you can feel that in game, but I do agree that you shouldn't be able to set foot on a race track with them on

I'm gonna have so much fun taking your money in our race. If I was to put drag slicks on my WS6 I'd probably have so much grip I'd scatter the rear-end gears.

Have you tried drag slicks on a normal track?

I just tried an experiment on Ladera Mini with an S698 GT-R, doing one lap(from a standing start) on stock tires and one on drag tires.

Stock- 31.970
Drag- 32.563

Not only are they slower around corners they also don't last long as all 4 tires were completely yellow after 2 laps where as it took 5 on stock tires.

There are downsides to drag slicks as well. They REALLY do not like corners, and tend to not fare too well in longer races. I don't mind them being able to be used in races as there are enough downsides to their use that they balance things out.

Cheers, see that bit that says "Can someone explain drag slicks please....?"

You just did, thanks i dont have enough spare time to go messing about with stuff like this, but i noticed drag slicks bring down PI, as long as tires are rubbish on race tracks then all good.

From what I know, drag slicks provide a great deal of grip for straight line racing. However, due to their sidewalls being very flexible, they aren't necessarily the best tires for circuit racing.

I hope this video helps out a bit...

Exactly, so quite why its possible to set foot onto a racing track with drag slicks fitted is beyond me.

Because the game doesnt allow such race restrictions - simple, you can enter any race with any tyres.

There are physics pro's / con's in place to make sure you get the best results out of the correct tyres used.

simply put, they're like premature ejeculation... they get sticky quicky

Its kind like GT in a way, if Forza had rallying like GT5, you would probably be allowed to use sports tyres on dirt and dirt tyres on a track.
