Yup

Ran some preliminary laps around Tokyo East, 2:00.7 - definitely room to improve, this track is going to be all about who can carry the most speed through that middle section/get a good exit out of turn 2.
The big issue is wallriding. It's possible to do T1 and gain around a second, and you burn off the 1.5s penalty at the final hairpin.
My best clean lap right now is a 2:00.4 (with a couple tenths left on the track). Using wallriding, I can put myself into the current world top 10.
I've reached out to WorldGaming about clarification on this (it isn't specifically discussed in the rules) and sure enough, like the other three times I've messaged them, I've got nothing.

I always assumed if you get a penalty at any point in the lap, it is invalidated. Any time I got one I always retried even if it could be timed out by the end of the lap
Anyone heard if steering wheels are provided or we bring our own in the final? =) ..
gd luck to all
All Finalists must use the PS4™ system, software, monitor, headset, and any other additional third-party hardware provided for the duration of all races. If a Finalist finds that an issue has occurred with any provided equipment, they should notify the Administrator immediately. If an issue with provided equipment has occurred, the Administrator will determine the appropriate course of action. o All Finalists competing in a Tournament Match must wear the Administrator-provided headset over their ears for the full duration of all races.
Thats all I can find regarding equipment.
Sware to god if they make us use pads Lester will kill us all. I’ve never used one haha
I'm in that heat i guess i can fight for 3rd and 4th lol. I've raced against lester before in some of the dailies. I only ever see him at the start line haha. There are some really strong heats there. Super happy to see so much Canadian talent . I definitely want to watch the race between Lester and Monster, that'll be awesome!
So... he’s a pad user?? That fast?
Putput is very good too.I'm in that heat i guess i can fight for 3rd and 4th lol. I've raced against lester before in some of the dailies. I only ever see him at the start line haha.

For those of us who aren't alien level, I think the strategy has to be to have a very good qualifying race on Brands Hatch GP, then drive super consistent for the rest of the race + Nurb, and hope there are some crashes.
Yup, both tracks aren't the greatest for passing, it's also helpful that we're in the GT4 cars for this round - personally I think there is a bit less of a skill gap in the GT4's.That’s what I intend on doing because I love Brands but hate Nurb, plus Nurb is very hard to pass cleanly on without a mistake so the finishing order of Brands will be super important. I have hope people will have SOME patience anyway since 4 people make it, not just the winner.
As for the finals, I imagine there will be wheels and controllers, that is the only fair way to do it. I’ll bring my controller in the car in case if I make it though.
I was at the theater yesterday and they had an ad before the movie for this tournament. I'm pretty proud as it is to qualify into the top 40. But it would be great to make it to the final event top 16. I'm a much better racer than qualify lap setter. I'm just going to count on consistency and hope others make mistakes. The two courses selected favor consistency over pure speed. Even if hoping for a crash is bad sportsmanship, that might be my strategy.Putput is very good too.

Either way these races are going to be fun! Nothing like a race exclusive to the best drivers.
PS. since the qualify period is 10min does that mean everyone gets to set 1 lap on nurb? that might get a little crazy, even if you space out your launch points people are going to bump into each other on the track.
ah, you're right i missed the second part.As the rules state... I'm pretty sure your starting order at Nurburgring 24h is based on your finishing order at Brands Hatch GP.
Entrants will have a 10-minute practice session prior to the start of Race 1 to complete laps on the track in order to determine grid placement for the first race. For example, the Entrant with the fastest lap time during the practice session will earn pole position in Race 1. The results of Race 1 will determine the grid placements for Race 2.
