I'm cool with just about anyday of the week, but just keep in mind some of us (specifically, me) are on the west coast. 6PM EDT on a weeknight would have me still at work most days, and 12PM EDT on a Saturday could be iffy if, say, I was out at the bar the night before :sly:

Times would probably most likely be 8pm EDT on a weekday and maybe around 2 or 3 pm EDT on weekends. Does that work ok for the west coast?

With that setup, either one would be just about perfect for me! Hope everybody else is on board! 👍

Tuesdays aren't good for me. Neither are Saturday afternoons, as I have commitments to my Integra series.

Best time for me is either Friday night, Saturday night (anytime after 7:00 PM, EDT) or Sunday afternoon.

And as far as I know, I'm still helping out as a Steward, right? Sorry I haven't been able to post as much in the last few days. Been a bit busy.

I reckon Friday night and Saturday afternoon/evening would be best, the times you mentioned should be alright for GMTers :)

I voted Friday originally cause I have guitar lessons on Saturday but it isn't at the same time so no it's problem!

Mule, I would still like you to help out as a steward since you have experience in these things. I hope we land on a time that works out for you, but right now it's looking like there might be conflicts. I think I have to go with the majority though. If we end up landing on days/times that don't work for you then obviously you wouldn't have to help as a steward.

The polls are too close to call right now but I'm hoping things will balance out nicely. I think the 7:30-8pm EDT slot on the weekdays and the 2-3pm EDT slot on the weekends are going to be the best fit because people on the west coast and in Europe have a better chance of making those times. We've already got well over 20 people interested so who knows, we could end up running a 3rd night!

Lovin' the Cappuccino Love!! :)

Brandon

@Schadenfreude13; tune link updated. Thanks for catching that.

@spdu4ea; stay tuned man, there seems to be a ton of interest already so I may very well end up running 3 races. I'm not making a firm decision on times until we get some more votes. If I do opt for a 3rd night would anybody be availbe to host one of them?

@Mule, you have experience and the later time slot is going to be better for you, would you mind being an alternate host for a 3rd race if needed?

Brandon

Sorry guys, I'm a working man and I get up at 5am every morning so I usually try to have all my racing done by around 9pm at the latest. We can shoot for 7:30 or 8 if that gives people more time for dinner, etc. 8pm EDT is the latest I can start on a weeknight though. If someone else wants to host one of the races at a later time and send me the results I'm open to that if it accommodates more drivers. Everything would have to be run according to the rules and regulations posted here, and I most likely wouldn't be able to participate on that night.

Brandon

First, I'd like to sign up and if available I'll run #24. Second, Brandon if you want I can host a latter race, probably around 10:30pm edt which opens that room up to alot more participants that live out west since it would be 7:30pm pacific time, etc. I'm already running 2 racing series on Wednesday nights so Tuesday would be the best choice for me. This allows you to host the weekend races where time zones shouldn't be that much of a problem as compared to weeknight race starting times.

Thanks Smurfit, I'll add you to the entry list and put you down as an alternate host. Thanks for volunteering, and welcome!

Man, I think if the PSN ever does get back online, we might crash it with a sudden flood of Cappuccino's!! :) lol

I think I can. Not 100% sure, but I should be able to.

Cool. With at least 2 alternate hosts we should be able to handle a 3 night. If the current number of drivers could be divided evenly by three we would have 7-8 drivers for every race. That's a great number to start and allows us plenty of room for new members. And since people are free to run in any or all of the races they want to, it could be more than 7-8 to start with.

I think things are shaping up quite nicely! 👍

Hey Brandon I might be able to do this.
Also does this mean you are cancelling the GTWTS.

Yeah, looks like this is going to take the place of the GTWTS. It was a good effort but I think this is going to work better and be more fun. Can't believe we already have over 20 people signed up!

I tried to update the poll to say I will take the top 3 results instead of the top 2 but it won't let me change it. At this point it looks like we'll have no probelm setting up 3 nights of races, I should be able to host at least 2 of them and I have a couple alternate hosts that can run one of the nights if I'm not able. Should be great fun!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your support and patience while I got this organized and off the ground. I know we are starting simple, but my brain is constantly thinking about new things we might be able to do in the future. I'm always browsing the online racing forums to see some of the neat things other leagues do and it gets my "creative juices" flowing.

But I've learned from past mistakes to not get over-ambitious and make things too complicated, that's why I'm starting us off with a fairly simple format to begin with so we can get our feet wet and build a solid foundation for the league. There are some really exciting things we can do with this group but we need to have the basics down or it could all crumble under it's own weight. We have a lot of league-experienced drivers in this group so I'm confident we will have a solid series here and I hope it provides us many seasons of thrilling racing!

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go attempt to smack some sense into the PSN and tell it to get its a$$ back online so we can race our Capp's!!! :)

Brandon

It looks like the votes are split up between 4 different days, but I think 3 would be the most we could run right now. Would it be possible for everybody to list a second choice of day/time so I can try to get us consolidated down to just 3 days?

Thanks in advance.
Brandon

Stigs, noticed that you've not added me to the Provisional Drivers List:

#24 Smurfit, (Smurfit3), Matte Gray/Gray Tires

Sorry man, I thought I added you last night but I guess I missed it. You're on there now! 👍 If I've missed anybody/anything else please let me know. I'm trying to update the OP with new drivers and new info as it arises, but we got to 3 pages so quickly I know I might miss a thing or two.

So far I think we're just waiting for the PSN to return and to get solid days/times for the races. Right now everybody is spread out over 4 days and I want to get it down to just 3. I think I need everybody to list what their second choice for a day/time would be so I can start consolidating down to just 3 days. Also, everybody is free to run in 1, 2 or all 3 of the races so I need to get an idea of how many people plan on running more than one day so I can get that organized.

Once we get the PSN back online I'd like to run one or two practice races so everybody can get a feel for my simple qualifying format and make sure it's acceptable for the first season. The qualifying format will most likely evolve or change completely for the second season, by then I'll have all the other basics down and can focus on a better way to handle qualifying. I'd also like to get a feel for the tire-wear with the online physics, I don't anticipate having mandatory pitstops but I still want to make sure there are no surprises.

I'm only looking at having 1-2 days of testing/practice once the PSN gets back up, so once we get our days/times sorted out we'll be ready to rock and roll with some Cappuccino racing! Being in limbo because of the PSN outage is starting to drive me a little batty.

Stigs, were you planning on running a late EDT session on Tuesday for the west coast boys? Myself, I can't get onto the PS3 until after 10pm and I know you're an early riser and that's why you're looking at doing 6-8pm edt races but even as late as 8pm puts that at 5pm west coast and I'm sure most of those guys are still sitting in the comfy office chairs.

Oh by the way, did a little bit of practicing last night on Tsukuba and even with the Sports Soft tires this Cappy tracks around the turns nicely. Tried to setup a 1 car spec race in the practice session but the AI cars are so slow that by the 5th lap I'm already lapping them. About the only good thing the 1 car spec race does is give you passing practice which still isn't that demanding. Anyone know if there's a way you can increase the skill level of the AI?
