The exhibition race will be in my lounge. I'll open at 5:30 EDT, qualifying will start at 6:00 and last 15 minutes, followed by a 25 lap race. The race will be over before 7:00. Add GTP_LancerEvo7 if you haven't already.

Hey guys, I'm running a Capp series that may eventually become a feeder series to Capp Cup. I haven't gotten very many entries, but have seen some interest. Brandon has also been helping me out with some planning and advice. I'd like to run an exhibition race tomorrow before the Capp Cup race to possibly spark some interest.

My series has two classes. GT and ST. GT is basically a Capp Cup car without a turbo, while ST uses a non-RM Capp with non-adjustable parts. Parts list for ST can be found here.

I'm not sure as to the exact time the race will be held. It would be at Cape Ring Inside, so moving the barriers for the following Capp Cup race wouldn't take very long .

I'd like to say thanks for any help you guys can give me. See you on track.

EDIT: Also, if you'd like to sign up, click the red link in my sig.

count me in, now to learn manual with a controller

My lounge is open, about an hour of practice and then qualifying will start at 8:15pm EDT. Bring your Capp's out to Cape Ring South!

Good luck for the race today guys.

Hey Brandon, if there is ever room in your saturday race i will come in and make a cameo appearance (seeing you have changed the race time now that i have left, lol) i will be the first to drop out if room is needed to be made for a prime driver.

Congrats to Brosif on his first of many wins this season :D

I had a good battle with him for the first 16 or so laps, but a combination of worn tires, tired hands (driving all out with a controller for 35 minutes - not fun), and lapped traffic let him pull a gap on me over the last few laps. Half the field was at least one lap down.

Congratulations to Brosif, picking up right where he left off last season and winning the first race of Season 2. Thanks to everyone who came, we had a good turnout for our first night with 12 drivers starting and 12 finishing. Next race is Friday at 10pm EDT, same track and same lap count.

@Vodas, you're always welcome to join! Hope the new time works better for you. đź‘Ť

Good to hear, guys! I'm kinda glad I had company here that kept me from joining tonight...5 minutes after I did finally turn on the ps3, the 🤬 thing 'Yellow Lighted'. That's the third time, too frustrated to mess with it now, hopefully be up and running for Friday's race. :banghead:

Good race tonight. Congrats Brosif.

Yuri, had a really good time racing you for third. Good job on pulling it down.

Yes it was a good battle Owens....thought we would go head to head all the way...sorry to see you drop back a bit towards the end. I have to give a shout out to the backmarkers that got lapped..they did a great job of moving aside at the right time. Thanks a lot guys.

I'm thinking of changing my number to 3 because it seems that's the best I can do...lol.

Note to self: 3-2-1 countdown does not provide enough time to change the map scale.

Haha, so that's what happened? At one point i had the same pace as you and then you just started pulling away so i settled for 8th. Good racing all. In the end, i last until lap 20 to get lapped by the leaders with Yuri getting closer to my rear-view mirror.

Apparently you guys were too worried about first and third places to notice the battle for tenth... yeah, okay.

Still, it was a lot of fun; I enjoyed myself and hopefully didn't get in anyone's way. I did have fun battling back and forth with Gatorchad and Camikaze. And I was determined to not be last. Thank you, Cami for helping me achieve that goal.

Everybody showed great sportsmanship and I'm proud to be able to participate in a series such as this.

LOL, good observation fluff. It was quite the battle trying not to spin out and loose the precious spot(s) gained.

Despite being pretty far off of the pace, I enjoyed my first experience in this series. Hopefully I can get the car tuned in a little better for the next one.

Congrats to everyone for a fairly clean run.

That's what makes this league so awesome. Getting the win is nice. But some of the battles you get through out the race is win in itself.

Glad to have you fluff408.

Thanks for the compliments about the series. We have a really great group of drivers and everybody is here to have fun and not necessarily looking for cut-throat competition. I appreciate everyone's efforts to drive cleanly and friendly, that's what makes a series great!

Just a friendly reminder to some of our new drivers, there are a few Golden Rules we live by in the Cappuccino Cup that helps make it a good series to participate in.

1. If your actions directly result in another driver spinning, wrecking or losing position it is expected that you will slow down and let that driver have their position back even if it means letting other drivers by in the process. Doing this will negate the need for any post-race penalty and will help foster goodwill between all drivers.

2. If you are involved in an incident that causes you to leave the track, be courteous when re-entering the track and do not pull out into traffic. Wait for a wide opening that will let re-enter the track without impeding other drivers. (This applies during qualifying and the race)

3. During qualifying, if you're on a lap you know won't be your best and a faster driver is approaching you from behind you should get off the driving line and let the faster driver by. If you're on a good hot lap then you can hold your position, but once it becomes clear that you're holding up a faster driver the courteous thing to do is allow the faster driver through and try again on your next lap.

Overall the race went very well last night, I though for sure there would be mayhem on the first lap (especially the first turn) but we all got through it with little-to-no incident and I commend everyone on using their head's and exercising patience during that chaos! The key to any good race is surviving the first lap when everybody's bunched up and on cold tires so đź‘Ť to everyone. I'm looking forward to another great event on Friday night!

BTW, I've updated the second post with a results table for Tuesday night's race. Thanks to Brosif for helping with the spreadsheet design.

True, there's a lot of mini battles during the race for mid table. I was part of the 7th place battle at the start and went wide at one point. Climbed back to 8th place and just could not get the right pace to get back to 6th or 7th even though at one point they were in my radar. I dont know who during the second half of the race was approaching me, i was making sure he wouldn't get close. lol

Edit: It was Torzilla.

There were some good tuning tips in the thread from Season 1 Chad, you might want to do a search for that...I don't have the link handy but I'm sure Stig could lead you in the right direction. It is a very tricky car to tune and the tune changes from track to track, quite dramatically I think. I still haven't figured it out and this is my third series in the Coffee Car.

Are there any spots left?

Car / Cauchy (nayrswehtam): Matte Light Silver/ Silver

Tuesday: sometimes
Friday: sometimes
Primary Points Night: TBD

I will do some testing before the next race and update the info. Also, do I need to pick a unique number?

would really like to join this series. i can be on pretty much any of those three days if not all three. im not that great of a driver but this car is fun and i like it. if any spots left car 24 chrome silver/silver

@Cauchy and linuvwen: If im right, this place could have as many drivers as Brandon can handle in the 3 days available. Its a nice system he has on to let as many drivers get a race under their belt during the week.

And Brandon, my car number is 85 and not 99. I made a mistake when i joined in here. Sorry.

I got my DFGT and I was hoping to use it for this saturday. However, When I take a corner I brake, then accelerate but brake stays partially on and slows me down until I pull the pedal upwards slightly. Does anyone know if there is a long term fix for this, or I will just send it back.

Cauchy & linuvwen, I've added you both to the registration list. moeom is correct, the series is setup to accommodate a large number of drivers with different schedules. The point of declaring one of the 3 nights as your primary points night is to have a system in place in case a room gets full, the people who have declared that as their primary night get dibs on the room. Right now Tuesday seems to have the most primary drivers so if either of you could pick Friday or Saturday as your primary day that would help balance things out. As for picking a car number, you can pick any number you want that hasn't been chosen yet. If you don't know how to change the number on your car I can help you.

@ VRracingfan, I've not heard about that defect with the DFGT before. I had one for a couple years and never experienced it so I'm not real sure how to advise you. I would suggest rapidly/firmly depressing it over and over for a few minutes to see if that loosens it up. My guess is there's something in there causing friction and depressing it rapidly might wear it down so there's no more friction. Maybe some other members have better advice.

@Cauchy, I surely hope you don't really live near Lake Karachay!!! I guess if you did you probably wouldn't be here making posts on a message board. lol

BTW, I've added a link to the Cappuccino Cup Season 1 thread to the Cappuccino Cup Resources section of the OP. If any of the new members have a bit of free time feel free to read through it, there is a lot of discussion about the Cappuccino's handling characteristics and advice on tuning. With over 1,400 posts it may take a little while to sift through though. :) There's also quite a bit of silliness in there, we kind of pride ourselves on not taking things too seriously around here and we can be quite easily distract........................is that something shiny over there??

I was easily distracted while driving man. Everytime someone flew off the track i just had my eyes locked on the poor lad.

Theres a point where i almost hit another racer from the back as he was in the middle of the track after a spin. Almost rammed him hard and just passed him by centimeters. It was nuts.

In that case I will pick Fridays as my primary day. But, I may need to change that later, car number 95.

this might sound a little retarded but as i have never really participated in an online racing league im not sure if it is supposed to be like this. the race i was in i only saw 3 other people and myself but heard audio from many people. was my race messed up or were we actually split up into separate races?

That's a lag glitch. It happens sometimes. If you ever suspect that it's happening again, let the others know and then back out and re-join the room.
