You did a great job of staying out of the way of the lead lap cars though and that's much appreciated. 👍 This track seems to be especially tricky for some reason, the Capp can be a handful but not usually this much. I'm sure you'll find future tracks to be a little less challenging.

Looking forward to one more race at the Cape today, it's proven to be a tough but exciting track! My lounge will open around 2pm EDT today for final practice and qualifying will start at 3pm. I have an open schedule today so we can do some short races at Laguna and a Custom track after the main race if anyone's interested.

A reminder, if you haven't downloaded the custom tracks and voted for your favorite please do so as soon as you can. The link is in the OP and the voting thread has all the relevant instructions.

That was some fun racing last night. I hope you didn't feel like I was holding you up, Yuri, I was by myself for about 6 laps so once you ended up behind me the racer in me took over and I had to go for it!:dopey: I did enjoy battling for those couple of laps, too.

I just noticed there's a minor error in the points spreadsheet for 2nd place. Lancer's total for Tuesday should be 23 points (22+1pt for pole). I'll try to get it fixed and updated. It is correct for Race 2 in the Points post below the OP but I'm having trouble accessing round 1 to edit it.

I noticed too but wasn't in any hurry to mention it. :D

Also, 23 points on Monday doesn't sound bad considering there was no race. :D

I am trying to make it. I may slip in close to three. Head for lunch at the parents now.

Thanks to every one for staying super clean and keeping it super fun. Awesome awesome race. Switching spots with Lancer and Owens all the time kept me right on it.
Highly recommended!!!!!!! A+++ Will race again!!!!!+++++++++

Thanks Wardez, that's a real compliment coming from someone with as much online racing experience as you! And congratulations on winning your debut race in the Cappuccino Cup. Hope to see you in more races, we need somebody to put Brosif and Lancer in their places. Lol

After I done an epic move into the final turn wall, I proceeded too goof off. Hope I didn't make you mad Brandon. Then my internet pooped, and I just decided to get off.

Frustrated with last finisher, hopefully i'v now broken my capp into 137hp so I may be more competitive at round 2.

Sorry I couldn't make it last night or today, fellas. I dozed off before last night's event and I had a prior commitment for today. Hopefully, I'll get back on track on Tuesday. :)

Great race today! Tuesday and Friday left me battling for 3rd place most of the race. Excellent battles I must say. Couldn't pull down a podium either night. Finally got that podium finish today. Ran a long stint swapping first to third with Wardez and Lancer. Excellent racing.

Only bad of the day. I forgot to save replay and picked up replacement camcorder. Came home excited to record the race and post. Only to find I forgot to grab it. :( I have Friday's race. So intend doing something with it.

Oh Lancer, I feel for you buddy. You battled hard three nights. Getting pole all three nights and not having the luck to get the win. Hopefully you shake that monkey in California. ;)

Sorry I had to drop out yesterday...had some connection issues and just couldn't control the car for some reason...

So today is the last race of Round 1? I dont know if i will be able to join, it all depends on what time my other Series' Race ends. But i have already raced in Round 1 so shouldn't be a problem i guess. :D

No, Round 1 is finished. Sorry for the confusion, I was away from the computer most of the day yesterday and didn't get around to changing the thread title. It's fixed now and I'm also about to update the results and points standings in the 2nd and 3rd posts. I did have my iPad with me yesterday (just no wifi) and I put together some highlight videos from the weeks races, I'm going to create an official Video Thread and will post the link here when it's ready!

Round 2 starts tomorrow, lounge will open around 7pm EDT and qualifying will start at approx 8:15pm EDT.

Just saw the standings and results...GTP_LancerEvo was in all three races and all three races he ended up in 3rd place...must be pissed. lol

Another reminder, please checkout the custom track candidates for this season and vote on which one you'd like to race. So far only 4 people have voted which suggests to me that most of you haven't downloaded the tracks. I want everybody to have plenty of time to practice on the selected custom track so they can learn it and be prepared, I don't want drivers showing up to a race on a track they've never driven before.

If we don't get some more votes in by the end of this week I will ditch the custom track option and replace it with a regular GT5 track that everyone is familiar with. It just wouldn't be fair to have a race on a track that some people have practiced and tuned on while others have never driven it. I'm not sure what track I'll replace it with but I'll make a decision by the end of the week.

He actually won pole position in all 3, got 2nd place in all 3. Frustrating, I'm sure!! At least he got that all important bonus point! Right now we have a 3-way tie for first, I think this points system is going to produce some very exciting results!! :)

EDIT: I noticed a couple boo-boo's in the results/points. Everything's updated now.

Crap, sorry guys, didn't mean to leave you out!! That's what I get for trying to do numbers stuff before I've had my coffee for the morning. lol

Everything should be updated now.

I think Brandon's Capp addiction is starting to effect his work...

Ha! I actually do most of my thread and graphics work for this at work. I probably spend about 6-8 hours a week on GTP while I'm at work..........don't tell the boss!! lol

Don't worry, I get everything done that I need to and am still about 50% more efficient than anybody else here. lol

Hey Brandon, I know you have three candidates for the custom track, but I was racing karts with some buddy's on a custom track of mine and thought it would be a great track for the Capp's. It's a 1 km tri-oval, top speed just under 100 mph in the Cappy, as wide as a kart track can get (about 4 cars wide and wider than the inside parts of Tsukuba for example), smooth and pretty flat, with no uphill rises or any of the usual downsides to custom tracks. Laps are around 30 seconds. Give it a spin, it's up in my favourites as Jeffy Gordon Speedworld.

We did a couple of practice ovals after the races in the last series and everyone seemed to enjoy it. This track would allow for door handle to door handle Nascar style racing...hopefully without the rubbin'...lol. It's a real momentum track.

I'll look at it. I have several oval type tracks I've created too including a tri-oval. Really hard to get proper ovals out of the course maker but I have about a half-dozen that are really close. Last weekend I was able to get a few that were .5-.75 miles which is a good length.

I have mixed feelings about adding an oval to the schedule, I think they're fun but also more of a crap-shoot track than a skill track. It seems most people want emphasis on skill (hence why we're not allowed to run on racing-hard tires) so I figured adding an oval as an official track would cause mass uproar and mutiny. lol
