Cool.
Ill draw up an Impreza nascar and we can race! :dopey:
And dyou want to participate in my car designing weeklys?
Exigeracer (comment on my pic please) can too, but he'll just OWN everyone, so...

Don't bother with a design comp or gallery, people tried that a while back and they never got rolling with any good momentum. I'd be up for drawing up something just for fun, nothing organized. It'll be some motivation for me to draw more...

Rogue, your drawing skills have visibly improved. You've still got proportion issues though. You window sills should start higher up, right now they're below wheel level, that never works because of visibility. Check post #123, the paragraph above the M3 picture for a better attempt at an explination of this problem. Basically you should make your car taller by adding more space between the greenhouse and the top of the wheels: there should be more "shoulder" to the car.

RACECAR: your shading has improved as well. Your strokes are getting more subtle, which is good.

YAY finally!
Ok.. Ill do that.
Also, can you comment on my pic in my avatar? (click on the green link to my thread in my sig)?
It is drawn on an index card so its really blurry, but can you still try?
Thanks
👍

Same deal with the 3/4. You have to watch your proportions, like overhangs and the size of things and where they are in respect to other parts. the noe of the car is far too short, for instance.

Here's a sketch of a B13 Sentra. I love these cars because of the simplicity of the design, and it shows in how they drive:

*edit*: gotta run, it'll have to wait.

Ok, thanks.
But the nose is supposed to be short, I dont know why I did it that way, but Its supposed to be.
I think because its a 4-cyl.
Or maybe its a midengine.

Thank you. for a while, it felt like I was getting nowhere. here's my spin on the Galant Nextel Cup Car

It's way too short, even for an i-4.

Oh, it is?...
Well, um... maybe its a fuel cell car! Like the Honda FCx concept!
(no, I never give up )
Nice sketch. How long did it take?
LOL and roof racks are cool

I wish I could draw wheels like you!
I'll just copy+paste what I did in the comp.

Quick sketch I did if Aston Martin did a hatchback during a French Listening test. There are lots of errors but for the most part I've got most of the ideas I wanted to get across.

Better, larger version to come up (drawing on A5 sucks).

The wheels on the green coupe are really messy, but I've kind of adopted that style to sketch my wheels. I used to have so much trouble with wheels that it would take me just as long to draw the wheels as the rest of the entire drawing. You pick these kinds of things along the way...

I can see you're struggling with the symmetry of a 5-spoke wheel. Use a 6-spoke design, that way you only have to really space out three diameterous lines and you have 6 even spokes.

... and diameterous is definitely not a word.

Hello! I like drawing but I really suck :yuck: Anyways here are just are a few drawings that Ive done.
240z

510

Dragster

Lexus LS430

I kinda rushed on all of them but yeah...
constructive critizism is welcome

i like your dragster drawing, theres somethin about it that makes it look like its actually movin, very nice. I always like the over-exxagerated cars with the huge wheels and blowers stickin 3 feet out of the hood, can't beat those.

I agree with Speedy_E on the dragster. as for your others, they are very nice for pics that have been rushed.

heres my attempt at doing tooned cars

and here is a bigger version of the 510. I probably spent about 45-60min on this one:

I used a box of magic markers, colored pencils, and a .7 mechanical pencil. I wrote "DATSUN" on by the side turn signal but its not noticeable 'cause I didnt have a black pen with a fine enough tip to write it
I know my coloring is messed up I didnt do it going the same direction. I realized that like half way through and coloring and I was like UGHH! Im gonna try to do another dragster type thing with crazy
blowers and stuff

This is my own creation of a concept car I made.By reading this, I have already converted it to a 3d model. By the way, is it good?

To get things going a tiny bit, I'll post something up.

A friend of mine works at a really classy performance car shop, and his boss inquired him if he knew of anyone who had enough artistic skill to do some concept sketching for their projects. He recomended me and my work, so I am going in to the shop later this week to throw up some ideas and sketches of their first project for me - a 1969 GTO.

I hadn't really done anything like this ever, so I am really looking forward to it. There was no hesitation with it either. Usually when someone asks me to lend my art or help, I am always kind of hesitant because I don't think I'm good enough. Not this time, I accepted right away, and now I'm just waiting for the call to go in and get some work done!

I decided to get some practice in before I go to it for them live. This is a photoshop of what I want to do.

Here's the original sketch - the total time for the sketch was roughly 10 minutes, but I went back to clean up the front end a bit, that's why that area looks better.

Any comments?

Its well done. I have no idea how to make photoshop do something like that, but coming from an ok artist, its real good.
