The lasting appeal or "finish" for lack of a better term just doesn't keep my attention. It's partially the scanner's fault, but it's partially because the contours are smeared amidst the colouring job. It also lacks contrast; make the shadows darker, make the car look shiny, use harder lines and edges. Look at the first Skyline pic you linked; it's got so little grays compared to blacks and whites. You can tell that the car just came out of a car wash. Now look at yours; there's no black, there's white, but barely on the car, and some of the form definition is lost with the "smooth" shading you did with the green. The R34 is and edgy car, so we should see edges.

Try drawing at larger scale; use more of the entire page.

And lastly, kill that quoted image. :P
Thanks.

I've finally cracked the code for photograph realistic shadings and renderings! Also getting better at modeling car cockpits so I can start drawing cars with open cockpits or see-through windows.

For sure, and the only thing that seems off with the Honda is that the door looks like it is hanging off slightly. Too bad about the F430, good luck with the 350Z. Are you colouring it this time?

Well it was just a photo of the drawing, if I had scanned it then I am pretty sure it wouldn't have looked that way. And unfortunately I can't colour it because I don't have my decent colouring pencils yet. And the F430 doesn't look as cartoony as I thought it did so I will work on that too and see how it goes...

Hopefully I would have finished both images tomorrow and have posted them here.

Kick up the contrast, MSTER... Get a black Prismacolor colouring pencil... Once you use that, you'll never want to use graphite to fill in anything again. 👍

It's not that, it looks low on contrast because it was a photo, not a scan and it was taken while it was quite dark. But I should be getting some decent colouring pencils soon :) .

Oh, by the way I have finished my 350Z drawing, will post it up here in a while...

Dude, the wheels on that are drawn so terribly.

Was you trying to replicate moving wheels? I finally cracked a theory on how to draw realistic moving wheels too. Look at moving wheels in real life. Depending on how thick the rims are, you can clearly see the brake disc underneath. If the rims are thick, then you don't see them as much. And in the centre you shouldn't see any part of the brake disc at all because that is where the bolt/badge goes. After that just render the rims as usual.

EDIT: I will get up my 350Z drawing up soon, I have been very busy recently.

Drew this yesterday... being very tired, was just a fast drawing, took me what? 5 minutes i think...

Because the lines were too light, i messed up in the brightness/contrast of it on photoshop... just to show the lines better.

Wow, 5 minutes that looks great. Reminds me of a Nissan for some reason (even though I see an Opel badge - you're taking inspiration or trying to draw the GTC right?)
The rear of the car where it's distinguished by the centre line; the right hand side looks to me like its coming towards you more - it should be altered so it looks like its going away from you. 👍

I was just drawing it... and it reminded me an Opel Corsa, not sure why.

It is a bit messy indeed, because other fact is that i am not used to draw cars from the back end... that also explains why the front wheel is a bit bigger... But i am forcing myself to learn it.

Edit: Oh, excuse my bad manner... thanks. :D

Meh? I wouldn't be surprised if the next Opel/Vauxhall Corsa looked a little like this. Good design.
