So, I had gotten away from this game for a while after getting my career into the LMP1 class. In season 4 I drove the alpine, and won the LMP2 championship. I was then offered an LMP1 ride (for almost every team and car) and chose to drive the RWD P30. (this is when I got away from PCARS for a while, playing Uncharted 4 and The Witcher 3 (along with its DLC).)
Recently I have gotten back into PCARS and i must say, I am extremely disappointed in the LMP1 championship. It's supposedly the pinnacle of Motorsport for the game and the championship is no different than the LMP2 class (other than the cars driven, obviously). Why on earth did they decide that the Tier 1 series should be a regional championship followed by a world championship consisting of 15 min sprint and 20 min main races? Especially considering the FA championship (which I have not done yet) is a full calendar and is only tier 2!
I understand that they have WEC, and so one wouldn't expect LMP1 to be 3hr-long races, but they could have at least done a 15-20 race season with 1-1.5 hour races and required at least 1 mandatory pit stop during a race. I mean, it's only the "top tier" of career mode in their game! I feel like they must have gotten to the point of doing the LMP1 career season and said, "Ah . . . **** it. Let's just copy and paste LMP2."
I had thought of using LMP1 to go for the defending champion historic goal but now I'll probably try it in FA. Oh, and btw, my career path so far: s1 - kart, s2 - superkart, s3 - formula rookie, Won 24 Le Mans, s4 - LMP2, s5 (current season) LMP1.
Originally I had planned on just going up the open wheel ladder, but after season 3 and winning Le Mans I had the choice of LMP2, or Formula Gulf. After winning LMP2 I had the choice of LMP1, or Formula Gulf. So here I am in LMP1. This season, along with the Euro and World LMP1 drive, I did the Lotus 86 invitational, and Lotus 67. Those were fantastic, and made for much better series than LMP1 does.
