Just finished my races at Nurburgring.

I started race 1 from pole. Led until the pits but not by much, since i hadnt played since Saturday i was feeling rusty. As well as my arms being smoked from the go kart tournament on Sunday (where i set the fastest lap!!)

So it was a tentative first stint but lost 1st in the pits and emerged in 3rd. The lambo ahead was only 2 sec up the road so i started to reele him in slowly over the next 3 laps and finally slammed it down the inside of the right hander leading onto the back straight. Felt good!

I couldn't catch first so i just settled in for a safe 2ns place.

The 2nd race was much smoother as i i h some seat time now. Also started from pole in this race.

It was just driving away really. I kept increasing my lead by about .7s per lap. I actually nailed my pit box for the first time ever and emerged in the lead still. Then just cruised to the flag.

I like Brands - it has a great flow, just not sure how I can lose 0.5s in one relatively simple corner!

That's very odd, thats a lot of time to lose in one corner. I use first gear there, are you?

I finished the first part I guess after Nurburgring and ended up with 100,00 career points. Which netted me Silver overall.

Your first endurance race starts now

But first!

Time to choose a new car!

My choices are

Audi 2015
AMG 2015
AMR V12 Vantage 2013
Bentley 2015
Bentley 2018
Jaguar 2012
NSX 2017
650S 2015
NISMO GTR 2015
NISMO GTR 2018
991 GT3R 2018
Huracan 2017

Did my first endurance race tonight, started P1 but ended up finishing 9th as I didn't notice that it doesn't automatically select refuelling during the pitstops for the stints (watch out for that - cost me an additional pitstop). I am however very impressed with the AI when they are under the blue flag, they actually move over and let you past, a rare thing for AI backmarkers in most titles.

That's good information. Im dg the test for it now but im struggling to learn a good line around paul ricard. Im not a fan of the track and I can't get a flow going to save my life.

What we're your lap times around there @Scaff ?

My first endurance race was at Monza, Ricard is just a test session, and it’s not a track I like a lot either.

Ohh ok. I ended up sucking but somehow got gold lol so i just moved on to Monza. Now i gotta grind a good setup in practice. But i love Monza so its ok

Thanks bud I’m doing the long career, can’t wait for the endurance races!

No problem, sometimes i wish i had chosen medium again after i restarted my career mode.

I just wish it was 1 race per weekend vs 2. Id rather do one long race than to short. Hence why i chose short this time since there's 2 per Weekend

Monza says 3hrs but im doing short so we'll see if its actually that long. Im assuming mine will be 1hr

I have just finished the race here. It says 3hrs but in real time it is only 1hr. I got DSQed AGAIN!!!! No idea why but I am assuming a pitstop infringement :-( There are also a mandatory driver changes with a "STINT" countdown clock added to the screen info. So each driver stint is about 25min and so each pitstop can be spaced every 20min with a warning from your pits flashing orange on which is the max time you can run.

So far so good but not for me apparently :-( So my tip here is **READ** what is says in green for the pitstop madatory info like MUST take driver, tyre change and add fuel. I think because I am running with tyre and fuel use to OFF I did not take on fuel at a stop :-( So the *&%#@&ing game lets me drive for an hour, win the race and then DSQs me >:-(

TIP: DO NOT rely on the pitsop to occur automatically because the game has randomly changed criteria for me. Hence it started doing brake changes all by itself. **ALWAYS** manually check (from your HUD) what the pits are actually going to do and at Monza DO NOT run off the end of the main straight because you lost concentration on your braking marker. Just ask me how I found this out? ;-)

One final point that MAY be a cause of DSqs even though all controls are disabled during the pitstop the game will let me start my car while it is still raised on the jacks. I was trying Stotty's tip about holding the start button on while raised so I get a good start. BTW I mapped Ignition to L3 and Starter to R3 on my T300 wheel so it is in the same position as most real cars (where the ignition key would be not a starter button mid dash).

Hope some of this helps everyone.

I just did Q1 qt Monza in the R8 and put in a 1:50.883 which put me on pole

In the Lambo test i did like a 1:54 lol

God it helps to set up the car properly!!!!

On to Q2

Edit***

Q1 Pole with a 1:50.883
Q2 pole with a 1:50.959
Q3 pole with a 1:50.661

Combined i got pole with 1:50.881

Looks like my race is 1hr. Even on "short"

I don't want to burst your bubble, but the lambo in the tests is a Super Trofeo, a support series for the GT Challenge. Saw one of them burning down in a race 2 years ago :D it just caught flames from the exhaust. Of course I took a pic:

And they are usually a little bit slower than GT3 around the track although they have more horsepower, but less aerodynamic.
Maybe the ones in the career test runs are restricted for the young driver program.

Well damn lol. I know they are faster top speed wise but they dont have the downforce of a GT3 car.

Got disqualified for speeding in the pit lane lol. I was in 2nd and i was late on the brakes beating the Lamborghini in lol. Time to restart dammit

Doing the Monza Enduro and came out of the pits for my 3rd stint. **** did the game start stuttering like all hell. Ended up ****ing up the first lesmo and sending it straight into the wall.

First time ive had stuttering issues. Apparently Monza is a ****ing disasters. Not even gonna try this race again until something is done. It literally became unplayable.

Well just did my second race at zolder and won with a 17 second gap, then the results came up and apparently I got disqualified even tho there was nothing to say that I had a penalty, even the guy on the radio said “you’re in first keep pushing” .

Not only that, when I realised I was dq’d i went to restart session, then quit and now I’ve been sent all the way back to the god damn practice session to start all over again. What a waste of time

That's frustrating man

Yeah very disappointing. Do you know if there’s any way to serve a penalty or if the game even tells you this?

I've definitely been given a drive through penalty before, but i dont remember why.

When i served it once you enter the pits it gives you option to serve the penalty.

Last time at Monza i just got disqualified for speeding in the pit lane.

I assume my penalty was a tiny bit of extra speed at the pit entry. But how do I know if I have a penalty at all? I didn’t see anything that says penalty until I’ve finished the race.

You can get a DQ for speeding in the pitlane if you are really breaking the limit, found out the hard way once when I forgot the activate the limiter and nailed it leaving the box at Brands Hatch. Not sure what the exact threshold is, but you get a stop go for a minor speeding offence and a DQ for a major one.

Something I just read here on this forum (can't remember where but thanks to who posted it) on a PS4 Pro rebuild data base and it cleans up most/all(?) of the stuttering issues. I just did it and it does seem a lot better. I wont know for sure until later today when I re-do Monza again (fingers crossed)

Google "PS4 Rebuild Data Base" for info. Worth a try

I saw that last night and did it but haven't retried the race yet. Ill give it another shot later today. I hope it helps as i really enjoy the game.

It literally skipped a second, i was in the lesmo and then it froze, then a second later i was in the wall with a ****ed car.

Fingers crossed

Brands Race 1
What a race... started in 2nd and got alongside 1st up the hill to Druids... but he outbraked me and that was the last I saw of him as he blasted off at 1s lap faster than I could manage (1'24.2 was his fastest that I remember seeing). I settled down in to a very consistent 1'25.5's (with 0.2 for a number of laps), with a string of cars behind me in 0.5s gaps. My gap to 3rd never extended to more than 0.7, and any mistake would have lost me a lot of places.

Pitted just after half way, nailed the entrance and my box, and exited 2nd, 1.0s ahead of 3rd... but he was on my bumper by Druids. Settled down to running mid 25's again, knowing it would be very difficult to lose the place unless I made a mistake... and held the gap at c.0.5s to the end of the race.

Great race... lots of pressure... really tense... and really happy with a 2nd place given my lack of pace.

Results screen comes up, my wheel jerks to the left... and I appear on the results page as DISQUALIFIED.

WTF?

@Stotty how bloody frustrating! This needs to be raised as a serious bug. Penalties should be signalled as soon as they occur (even better, there should be a pop-up warning if you're just about to commit an infraction so that you can take action and avoid it happening)

I haven't actually done a full race, partly for this reason. I don't want to get to the end only to find out I've just wasted 2 hours (i mean, it would hopefully be fun but there's enough content that i wouldn't want to re-run half the races)

Monza 3Hr (1Hr real time) Race. I have just had my 3rd DSQ!!!!! Now I am really starting to get annoyed as there goes 3 hours of my life i will NEVER get back again.

So what have I learned so far.

1) You need 3 drivers to do an endurance race
2) When you set the game up initially you only get to set up one other driver
3) At Monza qualifying has Driver 1 then Driver 2 then *COMBINED* Huh!?
4) Still no way to identify why I am DSQed

This should have been a clue. So my first two attempts at Monza I quite clearly doubled up on one of my drivers and not used the BLANK driver I should have. Silly stupid me for not realising I have to let a nobody drive my car!!!!!

Now it gets even sillier. Third attempt I let the game manage my pitstops. I pitted when it told me to, I opened my MFD to display pitstop info just so I could see what it wanted me to do. Invalid items are in red and items it wants to do are in green. So on both pistops it only did the green items. Checked by animation and to identify what driver you check the top left of the screen to see your car number and directly under that is the last name of the current driver. So when Mr. <blank> is driving there is no name displayed.

Does this sound as ridiculous to anybody else as it does to me?

So are you confused yet? I am. So there's me, my second driver I created and a no name that game has decided it wants to use.

So yes, I do understand that the game is based on real GT3 rules so why then do we not set up two drivers at the start? Or have I missed a step here somewhere?

Regardless it still does not explain why I got DSQed for the 3rd time >:( I am really very unhappy about this right now.

Oh and to add a further glitch to the game half the cars I passed had no wheels on. Probably explains why they were running soooo slow then :-)

Oh and lastly to save doing and extra lap at the finish I slowed down a little bit so I could cross the finish line nearly dead on the hour. So the nice courteous AI that (usually) get right out of the way when you lap them came around the Parabolica and smashed me clean off the track. So there goes my safety rating as well :-(

PS Patch 1.02 dropped just as I finished this last race so I have no idea what it is supposed to fix.

You have to make sure that all 3 items are GREEN. Fuel, tires, and driver change.

If not then make sure to check them YES on the mfd when you pit.

I usually play with the mfd on the main straight before i pit to make sure everything is green and ready to go.

The no name driver thing is weird, but you should have made two drivers when you started the career. The third driver is your screen name, which is dumb

For those being DSQ'd for penalties and not being notified, do you have your messages/alerts priority (can't remember the exact title of the HUD feature) set to "Maximum"? I've received my penalty messages in full. They're highlighted in red and display towards the bottom right of the screen.

I have mine at the lowest setting, and am notified when im disqualified or when i receive a penalty. But its usually from a pit infringement and i i notified at the end of the pit stop.

Or im teleported to my pit box and disqualified

I'm pretty sure my DQ was for breaching the pit exit line.

I've just re-started the race (another cracker!), and made sure to stay in side it on my pit exit and all good... 2nd place.

Found a bit more pace by reducing both TC and ABS, and exited the pit right alongside 1st place... but he got me on the exit and I couldn't get close enough to attempt a pass. Finsished 0.6 ahead of 3rd.

I've been lowering my tc as well. I run it at 2 now, sometimes i drop it to 1 and i i can run it there pretty comfortably
