Congratulations jwane, the 100,000th registered user at GTPlanet! Jwayne will be receiving an honorary GTPremium Lifetime subscription, and many thanks to everyone who continues to make this community such a success! We certainly wouldn't be where we are today without our loyal fan base and the hundreds of thousands of Gran Turismo racers who have visited our site over the years. With the full release of Gran Turismo 5 drawing near, anything is possible in our little (growing!) corner of the web! Here's to 1,000,000! :cheers:

Woot! :cheers: Congrats jwane, you lucky bastard! A lifetime Premium account? I want one too (but its okay i guess....) just make sure you go online everyday and make use of that premium account. Oh yeah, just don't get banned.... ;)

Great to be here at GTP, its the place I visit the most on the web and its always a pleasure to discuss all sorts of topics with you guys... I hope it keeps going from strength to strength and more people join and see how great the community spirit is here, in my opinion you wont find anywhere else like this on the web. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome and the Premium membership. I'm still wandering around trying to see everything there is to see in here.

PS3 is my first game console and I bought it a couple months ago just for Gran Turismo and GT4 is still the only game I have for it. I like Indy Car, Grand Am, IMSA (especially ALMS) and Formula 1. The Indy Car schedule for 2007 is completed and I realized I would soon be going into racing withdrawal and I remembered a friend had the original Gran Turismo so I thought maybe that would help ease the pain. So far it's been a blast and this site has certainly increased the enjoyment factor because I had no idea where to begin in tuning a car.

Yeah...no pressure here to be a contributive member. :scared: As if any member is under a microscope it’s going to be jwane. We all want to see what this NEW guy is gonna do with a particular number that was bestowed upon him.

I'm not sure what you stepped into jwane but good luck and welcome to the GTP family.
 
Hmmm. Not good. A novice racer facing high expectations. I can feel the early onset of severe understeer. :crazy:
I will contribute as much as I can but most of that will be in the form of questions rather than answers I'm afraid but any set-up I find that works for me and isn't listed here I'll certainly share.

I was just thinking it's really good that jwane seems to be the type of member we want. He types well, collaborates and even gets along... good stuff.

If you keep at it, you will become more and more contributive. I know I posted maybe 5 times in my first two weeks and it took me maybe a month to start my first thread. After a year, I usually make 5+ posts per day and I think that I may be somewhat of a contributing member.

But you have a jump start. Like others have said, we can understand your posts, and you have made a few. That can only mean good things. Keep it up!👍

My best friend (Ken) and I have always dreamed of owning an AC Cobra and as far back as the '80's we came to the conclusion that a kit would be the best way. It's more affordable and you can drive it without fear of hurting an original. He found himself in the position of being able to afford a Factory Five Racing kit and it was delivered in September of 2005. I decided to start a blog to chronicle the building of the car.
The car is basically finished except for paint but he's had to decide between the paint and a new roof for the house. Looks like the house is going to win.

I got my first taste of what this car will do on a lonely backroad north of Livermore Ky. It had a very slight stumble when taking off and between 1st and 2nd gear so he had been experimenting with different jets for the carb and finally got it worked out. He decided to perform a vacuum check so off we went. We mainly wanted to see the vacuum pull at a constant 60mph on the flat and uphill. He also wanted a reading under full acceleration from 45mph. The full acceleration from 45 caught me by surprise. This car is fast. He asked me what the meter said and I told him it said the same thing I said..."OH DEAR GAAAWD!!!". I also told him we would have to perform that test several times so I could get an accurate average.

Congrats jwane and even bigger congrats to GTP for still going strong all these years later.

I keep saying it ('cos i'm proud i guess), but i'm glad to have signed up to this place so early (i'm the 18th registered member on these forums, and was also a part of the MSN community before the first forum was started) and its proof that big, gynormous forums can still be (pretty much) swear word free, abuse free and still be terribly active. Its most definately credit to all the moderators, admins and even members here.

Sounds like a blast. You better send that thing my way before one of you guys gets hurt. ;) Also do you have any good shots of it, I looked on your blog through numberous entries, but most were detail shots of a particular item you were working on, not the whole car itself.
