Premium Chaparrals would pull be back into the game for sure.

Can't wait to try Jim Hall's latest creation. Hopefully it will be a match for Adrian Newey's X201X cars.

If this proves GM has acess to Chaparral's designs and rights, it might mean just that. If PD is smart enough for it, they should take advantage of their good relationship with GM and "request" that data... :sly:

And yes, this looks like a potential X2014 Standard rival (I choose the Standard taking into account the usual PP ratings of VGT cars). The rear end looks like one, if anything, haha.

The X2014 stole Chaparral's fan car concept, it'll be a fan car rival for sure, in grip if not top speed.
I'm thinking the whole wheels are designed as fans to suck air outwards and part of the inside wheel has a cover over it that collects air from the floor sections.

Hey, "steal" is a bit of a strong word, no? Since the 2J pretty much made the whole "fan car" an actual thing, it would only be fitting for the GM\Chaparral team to use that concept on their car.

If there really is fans in the wheels, I would imagine that it would come with lethal amounts of grip, and maybe it can keep the brakes cool, too.

I want to drive this so, so badly.

Great News!

But around 75% of the VGT cars are not finished, I wonder how long it will take for manufacturers and PD to finish the VGT project for GT6.

If GM\Chaparral can create a setup that erases understeer while bringing the, quoting you, "lethal amounts of grip" (and if GT6's physical engine doesn't act up), this just might become the best handling car of the VGT project. Those who drive the RedBull X series cars should be aware of the gobsmacking grip that fan-style cars can possess...

Is this going to be a triple whammy? It just needs one more VGT to beat the Aston Martin & Nissan double whammy. Some have been speculating the Alpine coming very soon but then the game files suggest that Alfa Romeo is coming next, even though they have disappeared from the GT website except the game files.
Yeah A CHAPARRAL!!!!

Well, Worldcarfans nailed the full reveal date, didn't they? :odd: LA week can't come soon enough for me, I really want to see the finished product without the cover. Fun fact: this isn't the first time GM launched a concept in LA with the Chaparral badge:

Say hello to the Volt, GM's 2008 LA Auto Show Design Challenge entry. The 2X is the comeback kid, my friends. :sly:
Chapparal volt? An electric? Chapparal?

Thank god the actual VGT is V8 powered.

Ok, I'm confused - are there two coming from GM, or just the one? The Corvette FB page teased a VGT, and in the teaser there was a clear Chevy logo at the left:

But, as many are saying, the two look quite similar, at least if we're getting the perspectives right. And it seems odd that one firm would get the opportunity to do two projects... But the again, if it will only be the Chaparral, why did the Corvette page make the post, and not GM's? And why did it specifically mention corvette fans...?

Either way, we'll more than likely get two in the next (probably November) update - Subaru and Alpine. If the Corvette is happening, then that could be a third, or it might go in later with the Chaparral for a GM-rich content flood.

Same here. Really confused.

I see the same fin behind the cockpit, the same round shape around the cockpit, the same front fender.
(the shot of the "Chevrolet" concept was probably taken just from behind the right front fender)
.....and another thing I noticed, the color theme of the pictures is the same, grey and yellow.

One wonders what sort of clever features are on this car. Seeing as this comes from the Guy who first came with the idea of a Fan car, there could be a really trick feature that'll take this car to the next level.

Just looking at its shape, it definitely looks to be a modern take on the old Can-Am designs.
