So am I free to enter a couple races drop? I'll take whatever car is spare.

Absolutely. I think I'll have part time drivers act as a reserve driver for an entire team.

So, that would make you able to drive any available Ford Racing car for any given race. If all three team cars are being used, you could opt to drive a duplicate, or help another team out by filling an empty seat.

CHAMPIONSHIP CALENDAR
01 - Daytona 500 @ Daytona Superspeedway - (200 laps)
04 - Daytona Superspeedway - (50 Laps)
05 - Circuit de la Sarthe (no chicanes) - (12 laps)

08 - Daytona 250 @ Daytona Superspeedway - (100 laps)
10 - High Speed Ring - (40 Laps)
11 - Daytona Superspeedway - (75 laps)

Cool thanks.

The races above are what I see myself doing at most.

Guys. About to open a Daytona room to have some fun sprint races. Welcome all.

I think I might do that for Stewart-Ginassi and I'll be mainly a road-course ringer.:)

Nope, ok, I'll take a look round.

I actually got let out of work early today, (in the States EDT), all the way home I'm thinking 'sweet, I got an excuse to buy a new NASCAR, a reason to spend hours setting it up and timing laps, and a bunch of new NASCAR friends to practice with'...I get home and the electric is out throughout the neighborhood :(

Feel the pain. Plenty of time though.

Drop. Rec'd the first of three today. Thanks mate.

Put me down for the #99

Great! Now we're just two full-time drivers away from having all five teams with two full-time drivers, enough to compete for the Owner's Championship. :mischievous:

I'll take the Insignia #43 (that's the 2010 one, right?), though my participation will depend on if we can get a new router by the end of the month, and whether doing so fixes my incompatability issues.

EDIT: Will you have slipstream set to strong or weak? (strong is the old setting)

Got you added. We'll leave slipstream on strong, as I think it makes for better racing.

Gotta disagree dude, I think the weak makes it all more strategic. Your series your choice but maybe put a vote up for it?

I think having strong slipstream keeps more drivers in the lead pack for a longer amount of time, and makes it possible for a group of cars to have a chance to make a run back to the leaders if they had an early setback. That's definitely in everyone's best interest.

Perhaps keep it strong on ovals (though I'd personally rather have it weak at Indy, since the people with worse handling cars can easily keep up with you normally. I have a strategy for this that let's me pull away around a pitstop period, but bumpdrafting lets everyone catch back up again.), and weak on road courses?

I think that the only difference weaker slipstream will have at Daytona would be slower speeds. The draft still takes effect the same distance behind a car as before, the draft just isn't quite as powerful. So for the scenario I quoted, the outcome would still be the same at if it was on strong.

Draft on weak would be way better, with strong, to win at Daytona is either stay in 2nd just behind the leader and draft straight past, or be the leader and get a draft off a backmarker.

Very few times does one of these outcomes not happen.

Thinking for those that are around, how about a meet up tonight after TOCA and have a bit of fun learning our new cars and teams.

21:00 BST. Who's in?

I'll probably be there, will give me a chance to get my car dialled in rather than doing coursework 👍

I will if I can last that long, usually I have to leave straight after TOCA. Also, you can change the link in your sig to Season 2 of this championship. You have Season 1.;)

Awesome, so glad Season 2 has come finally. Thanks, Ryan for the notification.

I'd like to pop my name down for the Brian Vickers 83 2010 Blue car and I'm really looking forward to racing with you guys. Also, loving the weighting of the race calendar. Really, nice selection of tracks and a fantastic field. Thumbs up for the date and time too :)

I am also really happy with the Season Opener Race and Closing Race. I'd hate for a Daytona Big One to destroy the chances of a championship battle contender.

See Niop ;) you don't get the road course advantage in a 'real' chase :sly:

I think there is only one space left right? Just tell me what car is left and where to get it and count me in!

First time running restricted, what's a good time around Daytona at 502hp?

For the slipstream, I vote weak. The same amount of people will still be in the pack, all it will do is slow down the closing speeds a bit. I think it's a good idea.
