If I win, it will likely cause a tear in our fragile space-time-continuum, which would result in fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
The dead rising from the grave!
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

...but I really don't think there's anything to worry about. :dopey:

Time for a history lesson for this series, because I feel like it. >_>

I believe GT5 came out on the 22nd of November in America, and the 25th here in the UK. On the 5th of December 2010, GTP_Fuzzy held a 100 lap invitational NASCAR race at Daytona (cautions, no tuning or added parts allowed, grip reduction real, fuel and tyre wear, only ABS allowed, bump drafting not allowed in the turns). The 2 cars in the recommended list were the best to use for the race (2010 #88 and #24) as the default tuning of the dealership cars wasn't very good compared to them, and we weren't allowed to tune the cars at all. A couple of days beforehand, Chadwicksracing had started preseason testing for SCANA (stock car association of North America), and his rules were used for the race.

The pace car was TommyWizard, but he had connection issues after the race start forcing us to stop after 3 laps. One of the racers stepped in quickly to take his place, using a Peugeot 908 instead of the 2010 Camaro. I took advantage of this period between races to complete a single lap and get pole in my recommended list #88 for the second attempt.

I deleted my replay of the race some time ago, but Chad uploaded it (minus caution periods, and sadly with no sound) to youtube and it's still there. See this post for his 6 videos: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=4269761#post4269761 (Cautions weren't allowed for the last 2 laps, as we wanted to finish under green. I dodged 2 crashes on the last lap or two and won :dopey: ).

After this I joined Chad's SCANA, along with a few others from the race, though after their first race at Indy. Chad and Gtuuk were the main 2 guys running it (both were in Fuzzy's 100 race). SCANA was pretty much what our current series is, except it had cautions. Due to the popularity of the oval races in SCANA and elsewhere, Gtuuk started up FND (friday night Daytona) which raced mostly at Daytona, but occasionally Indy. Both series had pretty much the same core group of drivers. After having problems with complaints at FND and mic issues where vital things sometimes weren't heard, Gtuuk cancelled FND and pulled out of SCANA. Chad cancelled SCANA when this happened. He then tried SCANA again for 1 more week, before stopping it for good.

After this we had the few months where PSN was down. Once PSN was back up, I checked around and saw Drop and Knelly in a room, so I joined them. They were discussing the first season of this series and invited me in for the second race, as the first one had already happened. I wasn't sure at first, as I remember Drop being something of a clumsy noob in SCANA races (I remember one race at Indy where everyone was shouting at him :sly:), but decided to go for it anyway, as I knew he'd been working to improve even before PSN went down, and he said that this was basically SCANA, just without cautions.

That bring us to the series we are in today. Hooray!

Drivers from SCANA and FND that have continued their racing in this series: Me, Drop, Knelly, M-Stall, Nitroustang96 (though he was only in 1 race in the first season of this series).

M-Stall: Now I know who I want to win! :D

^ Good story, I used to be friends with GTP_Fuzzy back in the beginning of 2011 before the PSN went down. We used to race Indy a lot, he inspired me to perfect my Indy tune.

Can't believe nobody called out my movie reference earlier, I may have dated myself a little bit with that...depressing.
Anyways, here's what I see unfolding: From what I can tell, all from CrazyB and up are locked in, (didn't actually do any math, just a quick glance) and they have nothing to lose tomorrow with only a much needed 'win' to gain. The next 4 of us have 'The Chase' to lose, and will most likely be on defense at least until a few cars go a lap down. Then, there's 2 more capable drivers who could quite possibly be racing their last race of the season, and I recon they will be driving as if it is their last race EVER. This has the potential to be our most challenging and exciting race of the season!

The complaining was because I left my mic on during our poker night. Go figure, the one time the mic actually worked, and I wasn't even racing.

What if there's something strange ..... and .... it's in your neighbourhood? Who you gonna call?

Easy mate, as soon as I read it. Just not been on to reply.

Comment on Joe's history lesson tomorrow as its' late :)

Are we starting at 4 or 5 est?

Room opens at about 4 EST for practice. Qualifying then begins at either half past or quarter to (used to be half past but I think we changed it to quarter to). Race begins at 5 EST.

Hello people, I wonder how long it is for the next season? At the moment I think it'll be too hard to commit to this series as it's incomplete and apparently the sprint for the championship is about to start soon, but when TOCA is over, it might get easier to join you.

22 points and a place in the chase, yay! :dopey: Will start the chase in joint first with M-Stall.

Sorry for bumping you Knelly, I think I still had a little bit of lag, as I didn't feel any contact.

A faultless race would have lapped the entire field, but that's not going to happen at Suzuka East.

I was doing Great until I got bump from Noip and I went in the sand!

Just great. But I have fun!

Feeling the need to apologise for my rash overtakes on lapped cars, should have been more careful.

Good finish for red bull overall! Thanks mustardaddict! We took top 5, 2nd & 4th spot. I pit on 15 n 30. Had a good race overall. And I had lots of fun battling with furi as always lol! Can't wait for thechase to start, let the fun begin!

It's Niop, not Noip. But that bump was an accident, I miss-judged the speed after getting the lag bump down the front straight. Sorry about that.

Joe, congrats on the win.

Not sure what was up with myself tonight. I showed up late, not ready, couldn't lay down a qualifying lap for some reason. Even though I was able to lay down consistent 49.8s last night, I couldn't run better than a 51 today. I got caught up in the lag of funkyducks. After that I was in 12th I believe. I ended up 6th. I thought I had a top 5 but homeslice denied me of that, lol.

The chase should be interesting, though I think High Speed Ring will go the same as it did last time for me. 200 laps at Indy will need our old oval racing mentality of staying mostly single file and being careful until the last couple of tyre stints, where it'll be all out for the championship.

I may not be able to do Indianapolis 200 laps :grumpy: But I will do well at HSR.

I'm going to make sure I'm there, and don't want to repeat my race last season, 2 spins which cost me a chance at the win.:grumpy:
