It is against the Sony and PD's TOS. Consider yourself lucky they haven't banned you from logging into PSN or accessing GT5 online features. Which they most certainly could have done and still could do. Have fun and enjoy it.

So if I make a separate, offline, account that I only use to play the game version in which the glitch occurs and keep my main account clean of abusive content and fully compliant with Sony's TOS, what exactly can go wrong?

You were more than happy with your mate making the S13 when it was the current game version. But now that Sony's lawyers have put a few more big words into their TOS you feel it's totally unacceptable and everyone else is lucky to get off with a warning.

• Do I need these hybrids? No.
• Do I need them to be a better drifter? No
• Do I have accesses to these hybrids? Yes
• Do I want these hybrids? Yes

Can you now honestly say it's wrong to make that replica of the 2JZ S13 I own in reality. I plan continue to have fun enjoying it. You can move on if you want. Up to you.

Oomph. These debates. Anyways the ARTA NSX chassis fits well under the Mercedes-Benz R230 (SL 65, SL 600, SL 500). Just add ~2.0 camber front/rear and it looks good.

Ok. Listen. Engine swaps and all that jazz have been long awaited in the GT series because it can be done in real life. Same goes for alot of other components swaps too. Also the ability to lower cars ride height more than usual can be done in real life but no in Gran Turismo. Also widening Track of cars and stuff. Just because its not in Gran Turismo does NOT mean it cant be done in real life. Thats just ignorance. And besides to ****suckers that used the stupid hacked cars with 8 figure horsepower are just tryhards and dumbasses. And obviously using a ahcked car in the seasonal events is plain stupid.

But as I said... Hazaaah for realistic hybrids!!!

This is what I answer to the ones that wave the "Real Driving simulator" flag on the hybrids.
The hybrids that I made, and that most of the DRIFTING community made - that I'm aware of - were REALISTIC (and FUN fun fun )

I wasn't against hybrids completely, and thats mostly because of the things you guys were doing on this thread. Unfortunately, the hybrid is a niche community, and people like you, an even small part of that niche. PD did this to make the far larger fan base happy. You all may have had good intentions with your hybrids, but a larger portion of modders didn't. They used them to cheat the DT/TT, they used them to cheat in open lobbies, and worse, some people were purposely crashing rooms with them. Not surprising that this was the outcome. Keep doing what you do, and in a year or so, when PD shifts its focus solely to GT6, you all will be free to mod to your hearts content. Just try not to be mad that PD is focusing on its larger consumer base, and not a small niche that unfortunately is rife with cheats that ruined it for you all. They are a business after all.

Not the point he was making.

He never said "i need these cars so i can become a better drifter". A lot of people like me for example made hybrids in a very realistic fashion. Never once did a chassis swap. Just engine and transmission. Also a lot of people made replicas of their real life drift cars (or real life replicas of D1/FD drift cars).

For example a friend of mine actually owns a S13 with a 2JZ for drifting so he made his exact car on the game. Me I had made a four rotary engine in my RX-7 Enfini. Nothing unrealistic about that. For the people that say "oh ok so you made a car with more HP"... Nope actually the engine is put in my RX-7 made about 50 less HP than the original engine.
Reason for the swap it liked the sound.

Basically I understand other's frustrations with their realistic cars that they spent time on tuning and being the car enthusiasts they are they made something cool and unique.

But at the same time I respect PD's decision to get ride of this. There are way to many bad things that can come from this. They cannot allow these to continue for very obvious reasons. I am just glad I took the chance and enjoyed it while it lasted.
Do I need these hybrids? No.
Do I need them to be a better drifter? No just no
Can I play the game and still enjoy it? Yes
Infact having left the cars with their normal engines alone for a month has made them all but brand new again. I am not bored of the normal cars at all.

See the funniest part about them patching this is the people raging off like a child because they can't have what they want. It is quite amusing to me actually. People blaming the patch on random things. The point stands...

Hear, hear sir. I agree completely. I love hybriding and I will continue to hybrid. The simple facts is, whether we cheated or made cool clean hybrids, we broke the rules and PD enforced the rules. Now lets everybody smile, shake hands, and make nice. Let's just keep sharing good chassis swaps.

Oh for bloody hell sake! Obviously those cars are NOT realistic! We make cars far from the 1,000bhp range unless you're making a hill-climb group a car or dragster! And rarely a Time Trials car.

For examply someone made a replica of a 900bhp Mazda RX-7 Dragster with near exact specifications!

Also nothing wrong with cosmetic modding either! Taking away spoilers, painting unpaintable rims and cars. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! And also slamming cars and hella-flush VIP cars. Its all in the real world if you've ever heard of it!

What I want in modding is to use rims from other cars and ALL the rims in the GT Auto. Just like GT4.

These two posts demonstrate exactly how missinformed about hybrids you are. In the drifting community specifically, hybrids were not focused on cheating, or on gaining an advantage over competition. It was about being able to drive the car you wanted to drive, have it be reasonably competitive with most other drift cars, and have it look the way you want it to look.

If you think driving a hybrid automatically gives you an advantage over someone who is driving a regular car, you need to go do some research, and stop basing your entire point of view on the short experience you had with hybrids.

Besides, we're talking about drifting here. Unless you were doing a comp with a hybrid (and lets face it, even the most active comp guys only spend a fraction of their time actually doing comps), who gives a 🤬 what other people are driving. Just drift your own car to the best of your abilities, be happy, and let others be happy as well.

Again, stating that the reason you are glad to see hybrids gone is because you don't like some stupid 2k hp S13, further illustrates both how narrow minded, and selfish you are. I guess you would like it if all of us conform to playing the game exactly how you want us to.

Your first post which I originally responded to, the one where you said "END, Thank God," served no other purpose than to gloat over those of us who feel we've lost a big part of the game with the latest patch. Totally agree. That's why i never made a car with anything close to 1000HP. What's the point? All it does is make you slower anyway. High HP drift cars are only slower.

I only drift cars 500HP and below and I have always stuck to that HP and i will never reach 600HP. Like i said before my RX7 made less HP with the engine i put in it.

About the swaps, well... it was a bless untill it did least. I think i wont "fly under the radar" to keep having my few hacked cars and ill just accept the fact.

Yeah Lazy, the whole mod movement really brought a spark back to the GT5 drift scene... Now it's pretty much just waiting for GT6.

Problem is, now that I've had a taste of what GT5 could be, it's even tougher to go back. If GT6 doesn't greatly improve the customization aspect, I would be extremely disappointed.
